“We have a puppy so everyone knows what that comes with 😬 I really appreciate Mark/Lester being welcoming, easy going and very responsive. Our reservation for daycare was a little last minute and it was our first time using Rover. I’d send our dog to them again.”

“Lajetta is the best! She frequently watches my dog and he gets so excited to see her and loves going over there. He usually doesn’t want to leave when I go pick him up. She does a great job caring for Tony.”

“Bangyun was amazing with my pup. Bella her dog is very friendly and had lots of play time and walk together during the stay. You know your baby has been having fun when they can’t wait to go into her house in the morning, jumping out of the car and rushing into the front door! Will re book when needed again definitely! Thank you so much !!! :)”

“Another wonderful visit at Dawn's house. She has so much fun with Dawn's daughter and their two dogs. It's a mini vacation for Maggie when she is with them. Couldn't find a better place for her when we are away.”

“Anupama took such great care of our dog Mimi! She sent photo updates, communicated well throughout the whole stay, and asked us thoughtful questions about Mimi to help provide the best care for her. Thank you Anu!”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the care Chelsea provided for Bubu and Lola during their days at her place! Both of our Huskies can be a bit particular, but she handled them with such patience and love. From the moment we dropped them off, it was clear that Bubu and Lola felt right at home. Chelsea kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and messages, which made our workday so much easier knowing they were having a great time. It was such a relief to see them so relaxed and happy! We highly recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving caregiver for their pets. Bubu and Lola can’t wait for their next visit! 😊🐶”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I was a little nervous—but I’m so glad I chose Morgan! She instantly put me at ease and took such wonderful care of my pup. My dog had the best time running around the farm and hanging out with her pack. I knew she was happy because she didn’t even want to leave when I came to pick her up! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely book with Morgan again.”

“Poppy received excellent care! She got plenty of attention and exercise and came home thoroughly relaxed and tired. A huge difference from other daycare experiences we’ve had where she comes home anxious and stressed.”

“My Kelly could be nervous when entering new environment and meeting new people. Ryleigh has been really nice with her, give her space and time to decompress and warmup. Kelly happily enters her home for daycare the second day, which is great! Thank you 😊”

About: I’m a dog owner and lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I have a 7-year-old Shiba Inu of my own, so I understand the quirks of independent, strong-willed breeds. I work from home which means your dog gets consistent attention throughout the day rather than sitting alone for hours. I’m calm, reliable, and treat every dog like family. Your pup will be well exercised, well loved, and well cared for. I work fully remote from home, meaning your dog gets consistent company and attention throughout the entire day. No long hours alone. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and can accommodate last minute requests. Walks happen morning and evening, and as needed with plenty of downtime in between. Your dog will be staying in my clean, comfortable apartment where they’ll be treated like family. I’m an experienced dog owner with a Shiba Inu of my own, so I understand dog behavior and body language well. I keep a calm, structured environment and will always communicate with you about how your pup is doing. Your dog’s safety and comfort is my priority.

“This is my first time leaving my pug boy Louie with a sitter. I was nervous at first about leaving him but Jamie and her mom made me feel comfortable about leaving him there. They allowed me to have a meet and greet first, and Jamie answered all questions i had. She reassured me he was in good hands and i know he was. Jamie has very good communication, and made me feel even better by sending lots of pics and videos of Louie while he was there. I will definitely be booking jamie again for my boy.”

“Took great care of Spike and showed him a good time! Kate took him to the dog park (his favorite place) and got him some treats at the local pet store (his second favorite place)”

“Tyson had the best day! Heath is kind, friendly and natural with dogs. They were very easy to schedule with and great communication. Tyson can’t wait to come back.”

“We love our furbabies as if they are our own flesh, they are our "kids." Very seldom do we leave them and we mostly take them everywhere we go, our whole activity surrounds around them. Yes, we are one of those crazy furparents. and we are very thankful that we found Heather, who have treated Maxine and Callie with much love and care. We were able to go out and have fun without worrying. Heather sent us pictures and updated us often. On top of this, she was very helpful in giving us tips on where to go and dine in Portland since it was our first time in the city. Thank you again and I definitely recommend Heather for your furbabies.”

“Greg is a lifesaver! Super responsive and easy to coordinate with, I had a pretty last minute need for off-site dog sitting and Greg thankfully was available and flexible. I'm so glad he has Hilo too, someone to play with definitely helps my big baby not be glum about being away from home.”

“Shell was so so sweet! Our rover sitter canceled on us at the last minute and we contacted Shell with only a half hour notice and she gladly accepted! She saved our night as we had driven 3 hours from Seattle to go to a surprise birthday dinner for my mother in law. She was wonderful with Jaxson. It was his very first time being away from us for a few hours and she was very patient with him and always sent us updates and pictures and made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend her!!”

“Thank you for my last minute request for a booking! It’s a great pleasure to know when your dog is genuinely loved and care for, and when everything runs so smoothly from pickup to drop off. Thank you again SO much! Definitely will book again in the future!”

About: I am a vet tech who has over 10 years of experience working with dogs, cats, and exotic pets. I have extensive experience as a veterinary technician in both general practice as well as emergency medicine. I am comfortable with all pets of any age including pets with special needs. I am able to administer oral meds, injections, fluids, and much more. I have worked with animals professionally for all of my working career starting with basic pet sitting/dog walking. After this point I was a groomer for sometime and then made my way up to working at the San Diego zoo as one of the animal ambassador care takers and conservation/wildlife educators where I led tours teach the public about conservation, ecology, and animal welfare welfare. I then moved on to a non profit shelter for a few years as an animal care taker, caring for and providing enrichment to the rescued dogs and cats we took in from across the country. All of this eventually led me to working in the veterinary field as veterinary technician. Animals have always been my passion in life and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with career. Working with pets no matter how big or small, young or old is the most profoundly fulfilling part of my life and I would love to be able to care for your pets too! Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
