“We had such a good first experience with Lajetta. She is a wonderful communicator, sent lots of photos and took great care of our dog. Our dog got along well with the other dogs, and was his normal self when picking him up at the end of the stay. Lajetta is proven to be great with dogs, and a responsible sitter, much appreciated!”

“This is second time we had Nicole to take care of our dog Bailey. He loves her, we received photos everyday, he was happy and comfortable with her. We will definitely book her for the future trip .”

“This is the second time I’ve left my dog with Chelsea, and it has gone super smoothly both times! She made it very easy for drop off/pickup, is very easy to work with, and very respectful of what my dog needs. Will definitely rebook with her next time!”

“Mo did an amazing job with Willy! She was super responsive, sent regular photo and video updates, and clearly gave him tons of love. Her Cavapoo Bagel was the perfect playmate. The meet & greet before booking put us at ease, and Willy came home happy and calm. Highly recommend for small dogs!”

“This was our first time leaving a member of our family in someone else’s care. Since it was a five night stay and our dog is extremely affectionate and loves being around people, we were a little nervous at first. But Juan took such great care of her and made us feel completely at ease. We’re so happy that she now has another place where she can feel safe and comfortable. We would absolutely trust Juan to take care of our family again and would love to have her watch her in the future. Thank you so much, Juwan!”

“Kylee's place is like Bruno's second home. It always gives me the comfort knowing that he is well taken care of, with warmth & love. Thanks for having him. He will miss you guys!!”

“Jocelyn was great! We ended up having to change dates and she was flexible which was so nice! Our dog is always happy to spend time with Jocelyn and her two pups! So thankful we’ve found her!”

“Great communication, provided updates and pictures. Thanks so much for taking good care of my pup for 4 nights when I had a family emergency. He means so much to me and my kids. It was so helpful knowing he was left in good hands. I could tell you walked him a lot when they spelled out w.a.l.k in lieu of saying the word, he gets so excited. Apologies again for the text meant for my buddy…”

“Milo has found his GO TO sitter🔥. Chris was amazing to work with and mind if i say very flexible and communicative. Our Milo had a blast staying with Chris And of course Bear and Cosmo. I would highly recommend his service to anyone. How he took the time to really get to know Milo is one thing but building a bond with him in such a short period of time is amazing. Really appreciate you Chris and looking forward to using your services again!”

“I have taken two long trips this Fall and left my 10-month old puppy with Anupama and her family. I missed him so much but Anu is such a great communicator and sends such great pictures and updates, I felt sure he was having a great time and receiving so much love and attention. She’s the best!”

“Our Cavaliers loved staying with Amy. Her home was accommodating, and they seemed very comfortable with the family and her dogs. My dogs immediately made themselves at home and I'm sure would eagerly return!”
“Mr. Cashew had such a great and adorable time with Juan! We will definitely be rebooking Juan again in the future! Thank you Juan for watching and keeping my baby boy safe !”

“Wonderful experience for our dog and for us. Kimberly’s care, skill in accommodating our dog’s needs, and communication gave us such peace of mind when leaving our dog for a few days. Will definitely be back!”

“It was Cooper’s first time stay at Lea’s. He seemed so well adjusted and happy to be with Lea and the kids. He was well cared for with regular walks and a lot of play. Got so attached to Lea that Cooper sulked at home on his return for a couple of days, missing her presence. This says it all! Great sitter and caring dog lover. Thank you Lea and family.”

“Steve is great! Thankfully, he was able to accommodate me on short notice when other plans fell through. He was flexile on drop-off and pickup time when my plans kept changing. He sent pics every day. Max had a great time staying with Steve.”

“Our dog didn't want to come home! I think she would've loving living with Lisa for the rest of he life which I think is the biggest compliment you can give a dog sitter.”

“Highly recommend! Our dog had a great time at their home. Aundrea sent frequent updates, including video and pictures which really helped us feel at ease. We could see that he was really enjoying himself with their family and staying very active, playing and going for walks.”

“They are the nicest people and treated Tom as if he was their own. They kept sending pics of Tom having the best time, which allowed me to enjoy my vacation.”

About: “My husband and I are lifelong dog lovers with over 20 years of experience caring for our own dogs, including two Dobermans and two Miniature Schnauzers. We recently lost our Doberman and currently don’t have any dogs of our own. We truly miss having a dog around, and would love the opportunity to care for yours. Your dog will get plenty of individual attention, love, and care while with me. Were dependable, patient, and happy to follow your dog’s normal routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and at home while you’re away. I’m home during the day and evenings and have a very flexible schedule, so your dog will have plenty of company while they’re here. My husband will also be helping with their care, and he loves dogs just as much as I do. We love having dogs around and will have lots of time for walks, playtime, potty breaks, cuddles, and just hanging out together. We’ll do our best to keep your dog’s routine familiar and make them feel comfortable, loved, and right at home while they’re with us. We have a huge fenced yard, and while we don’t currently have a dog of our own, we do have six chickens that live securely in their enclosed coop and are kept separate from the dogs. Your dog will get lots of love and individual attention from both of us. We both love dogs and understand that every dog has their own personality and routine. We’re happy to follow whatever makes your dog feel most comfortable, including their normal feeding, medications, and daily routine. Safety is really important to us. Our home is clean and secure, and we make sure anything that could be dangerous or a choking hazard is kept out of reach. Since I’m home most of the time, your dog will have plenty of supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. We will always let you know if we plan to be away from home for more than two hours. We’re also happy to do a meet and greet beforehand so you and your dog can feel comfortable with us. Most of all, we want your dog to feel safe, loved, and like part of our family while they’re here. We also have an extra kennel available if needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Folkenberg home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Folkenberg.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Folkenberg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
