“Eryn was incredible! She was so attentive to our cats and provided updates with each visit. We will definitely have Eryn watch our kitties in the future! Thank you so much, Eryn!”

“Jervilyn was wonderful with our two dogs! 🐕 We loved that she spent so much time interacting and playing with them. One of our dogs needed to be given medication and Jervilyn administered with no issues! Would definitely have Jervilyn drop in again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets my entire life, and my family and friends look to me if they need me to dog sit (or pet sit) when they’re away or unavailable. I love animals, and so getting to take care of furry friends is an absolute treat!! I’m currently attending college, so monday and wednesday mornings im out of the house from 8-12. any other time, if given enough notice, i can be available for you and your pets! I live in a family home with my dog daisy, who is very friendly and about 14 years old now. She never fails to be entertained, and I love her with all my heart. I will do the same for your pets :)

“Linda took care of my two cats while I was away & she was awesome ! Very communicative and sent photos and updates everyday, as well as hanging out and playing with them. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone to watch their pets !! Cannot say enough good things”

“Our dog was having a shy moment during Savana’s drop-in and wouldn’t go outside at first. Savana went above and beyond by coming back later and making sure our dog got out to potty. She takes great care of our dog!”

“Meghan took such great care of our cat and fish while we were away for a week. It was the first time she has sat for us and we are very happy with how it went. She gave thorough updates and sent lots of pictures which we really appreciated. She spent time giving our cat extra attention and affection which was such a comfort to us. She successfully got him to take his pills and liquid medication which can be a challenge sometimes. She definitely has good attention to detail and noticed that he had a preference for one flavor of food and ate it with the medication more easily, something we hadn’t even noticed! She followed all our directions perfectly and is a great communicator. She really put us at ease and we would definitely have her sit for us again! Thanks so much Meghan!!”

“Vicky did an awesome job caring for Bruce. She was in communication with me and sent great pictures so I had complete peace of mind. I think Bruce really liked Vicky and the feeling was mutual. I highly recommend Vicky to care for your fur baby.”

“Julie was the absolute the best! She went beyond and so much for our Crumpet. Kept in good contact the whole time and was there for us on short notice and on the holiday. Julie is the best! Will definitely use her service again, and recommend her to everyone!”

“Michael took care of our dog for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. We had him do drop in visits twice a day and he was amazing. He also watered our outdoor plants and did anything else we asked! He was responsible and very caring. Our dog absolutely loves him! We will call on him every time we go away. Thank you, Michael, for taking such good care of "our girl"!”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Florida stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Florida. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
