“Cynthia was incredible and did so much to help my anxious kitties to feel safe and happy while I was away! She sent detailed updates with photos that made me feel at ease so I could enjoy my trip. 🙂 She is incredible and I will definitely be contacting her in the future for pet sitting services!”

“Though it was Michelle second time of sitting Katie and Maya, she was able to pet Maya who usually does not show up and allow her own family members to pet her. Great Job! I would recommend and use her again.”

“Elizabeth took wonderful care of our little angel Cora while we were away. She is a fantastic communicator and sent tons of videos and pictures of our kitty. Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! I've had dogs growing up since I was 3 years old. I'm very comfortable walking, caring and exercising dogs. Best pets for me are those that are trained, are comfortable in apartments and are friendly with other dogs (my building is dog friendly; there are usually other dogs in the hallway or elevator). My home is a quiet elevator building in Forest Hills with outdoor access. I host only one dog at a time to keep the environment calm and safe. I work from home full time and make my own schedule. I am very flexible and can accommodate your needs and availability with advance notice. I live in a quiet, tree lined neighborhood where there is ample space to walk and explore. I live in a house with a fenced backyard so your pet can run and play safely and freely.
“Anna was a wonderful sitter for our two cats. She communicated clearly and consistently, sending updates and photos after each visit. She was patient and attentive to both of our kitties’ individual needs, showing genuine care and compassion. She truly went above and beyond—we highly recommend!”

“Caroline was absolutely wonderful! Milo and I are so happy we found her. He had a great time taking a nice walk, and playing with her, and he was so comfortable and happy he didn’t want her to leave ! I highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a reliable, caring and loving dog sitter.”

“Angela did an excellent job watching and feeding my cat and fish while I was gone for the weekend. We'll definitely be requesting her again in future when we're out of town and need sometime to take care of our animals!”

About: I have lifelong experience caring for animals, especially dogs. I've had dogs my entire life, including growing up with a 140-pound Pit Bull, later caring for a Staffordshire/Pit Bull mix, and now having a Pomeranian. I've also dog-sat for many families with dogs of all different sizes, ages, and personalities. I have experience with cats as well through my best friend, who has six cats and a dog. Beyond dogs and cats, I volunteer with GallopNYC, which provides therapeutic horseback riding for people with disabilities, and I also volunteer at a horse stable. These experiences have taught me to be patient, attentive, and responsible when caring for animals. I'm also very comfortable caring for homes. I understand the importance of keeping a home clean, secure, and respected while someone is away. Since I work from home, I'm able to spend a lot of time at the house, keep up with pets' routines, and make sure everything is well looked after throughout the stay. I have a flexible schedule and work from home, so I’m able to spend a lot of time with the animals throughout the day. I can be around for regular feedings, walks, playtime, and any other care they need, rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I’m also able to adjust my schedule around their routine and make sure they get plenty of attention and care while I’m there. “Samantha and Jerry were fantastic. Zara, our cat, was happy and well cared for when we came home. We got great pictures of her being brushed, eating, and drinking throughout their visits. Would 100% recommend.”

About: Hi! We’re so excited to meet you and your furry friends! Although this profile is under my name, my boyfriend Billy and I will be working together, which gives us more flexibility and availability to provide your pup with the attention and care they deserve. We’re both huge dog lovers and have plenty of experience caring for dogs. We have our own dog, Hudson, a big, lovable Anatolian Shepherd who is truly part of the family. Billy has had dogs his entire life and has experience with dogs of all ages and sizes, including potty training and caring for puppies. We understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and we’re happy to work with you to make sure your pup feels comfortable, safe, and loved while they’re in our care. I work at a school, so I’m typically available after 3:30 PM on weekdays. Billy works from home a few days a week, which gives him flexibility to help with quick walks and check-ins during the day. We’re both available most evenings and on weekends, giving us plenty of flexibility to fit your pup’s care into our schedule! We provide dog walks, drop-in visits, and in-home sitting, always focusing on making your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We have plenty of hands-on experience from caring for our own dog, Hudson, and understand the importance of keeping pets on their usual routines. We also know the local area well and enjoy finding safe, enjoyable walking routes for every pup.
About: We have had many dogs throughout our life. Right now we currently have 2 small Havanese dogs - Daisy and Luna. We have two children, 15 and 13, and both dogs get along with all children and other dogs as well. We will take care of your dogs as though they are one of our own! We do take on more than one dog at a time. We have a fully fenced in yard where they love to run around and play. We live in a great neighborhood where we can go on long walks. We have two size crates should your dog require one. We look forward to spending time with your pet/s! I currently work full time as a teacher but am home by 2:30 and am able to come home during lunch breaks to let dogs out and walk them. And my husband works from home - so they always have company! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Floral Park
Cynthia was AMAZING!! She took such great care of my cat while I was away. She was responsive, checked in, super easy to communicate with, very kind and nurturing, and made the whole process a dream. I will definitely be booking again. I felt that my cat was in safe and loving hands while I was away for a week. 100000/10!!!!

Nasimul & Dominique made my first Rover experience spectacular. They communicated during my days away, sending pictures at every visit. They were even patient with ChiChi, who takes a long time to warm up to anyone. That house was exactly how I left it. I would definitely like to work with them again in the future. Thank you so much for taking care of my Furbabies!! We appreciate you both!!

Gerry and Samantha were the best pet sitters I could’ve imagined! They were attentive and communicative throughout the whole trip and they bonded really well with my cats. The best part of my day while traveling was when I would receive Jerry’s photos from their check ins. I definitely recommend :)
I found Michelle on short notice when the weather was predicting thunder all day, and Ishby can be alone for a few hours but is scared of thunder. Michelle was easy to communicate with, understanding and trying to make things work for me as best she could even as the weather forecast was changing. When she came for the meet n greet, it was clear she has a way with dogs and Ishby got used to her quickly. She was in touch throughout the visit, took lots of pictures, fed Ishby as I asked her to, and I felt like my baby was in good hands. Grateful for Michelle's help!

Nicole was an absolute angel with Lale during a very stressful time for me. From day one, I could see how kind, caring, and genuinely loving she is with animals. Honestly, the best review comes from Lale herself — she would practically hop with excitement whenever she saw Nicole! Watching her little tail wag and seeing how happy she was made my heart so happy. Lale felt completely safe, loved, and spoiled in the best possible way. Knowing Nicole was with her gave me such comfort and peace of mind. She cared for Lale with so much affection and attention, as if she were her own. I’m beyond grateful for everything Nicole did for my sweet girl. Anyone would be lucky to have Nicole care for their pet — and their pet will probably fall in love with her just as much as Lale did! ❣️🐾💕

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
