“Madeline is a pro! She was great at communicating, here when she promised and took good care of our Spooky. So grateful that we can leave for a day or two and be comfortable that all is well with our older cat!”
“Sara was so communicative and caring for Luna while we were away for just over a week. She sent regular updates and took great care for her. 10/10 recommend Sara for caring for your pets!”

“Katelyn was great! Very reliable, took a bunch of photos ofy cat, and I really appreciated that she made time to come by and get oriented quickly before the sit. Thank you Katelyn!”
“Jenna was fantastic! One of our dogs is not the friendliest with strangers, and Jenna went above and beyond. She was patient with him even as he barked and growled at her, and slowly earned his trust. By the end of her watching him they seem to be great friends! We definitely would and already have booked her again!”

About: I’ve worked at a dog daycare/boarding facility and at a pet store and have worked freelance watching pets and homes ever since! I’ve watched pets from a few months old to 18 years old. I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! :) I’m a Master’s student with a remote job so most days I only have set plans for about 3 hours at a time. I’m quite organized and happy to modify my schedule when possible to suit the needs of your pet I know it can be scary to let a stranger into your home but please know I am a quiet, clean, non-drinker and non-smoker who will happily spend all her downtime playing with animals
“Ava was great! Communicative and attentive, she took great care of my 3 cats. They’re shy and timid with new people and she was able to get them to warm up to her a bit for some snuggles and playtime. I’d definitely use her services again!”
About: In addition to taking care of my own dog growing up, I worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility for 4 years, where I supervised, played with, and took care of all kinds of dogs. I work 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday. For dogs that are okay being left alone for that amount of time, I am available all days of the week. For those who need more frequent care and engagement during the day, I am available Thursday evening through Sunday. I will take care of your dog(s) as if they are my own, loving on them, playing with them, and just keeping them company while you’re away.
“Excellent communicator. Patient. Gets to know pets. Pleasant to deal with. I can’t say enough. He has been a godsend. I’ve had last minute plans that he has accommodated.”

“Makena did such a great job caring for Zeus! She came to the meet and greet ready to take notes, was prompt with the check ins, and left a solid summary and photo every time. Great communication and we came home to a happy healthy old pup - we would definitely book again!”

“Atlantis was able to commit last minute for a 4 day pet sitting for my 2 dogs. She was timely and polite. I really appreciated her letting me know they were well and it brought a lot of comfort to me to know they had a caring person dropping in to give them love attention and their potty breaks/meals.”

“Annie was exceptional in every way. She came to meet Chaco ahead of time, was professional and compassionate with Chaco. I had a last minute change to plans and Annie was more than willing to help. I would definitely recommend Annie to friends, family and anyone who needs their pet looked after and taken care of. Mark”

“So many updates throughout the time she spent with our baby Spot! She even brought doggie friends to join and keep him company while we were on our trip. I would recommend Megan for any of your petsitting or house sitting needs! 10/10 service and she absolutely loves animals. :)”

About: I’m a high school student with two English Bulldogs, so I have experience taking care of dogs every day. I feed them, walk them, play with them, and make sure they are safe and comfortable. I love spending time with animals! Since it’s summertime, I have a very flexible schedule. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I already take care of my two dogs every day. I will make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable. I have 2 bulldogs that I love and take care of every day, so I’m used to being around dogs and giving them lots of attention. I’m responsible and will follow any instructions you leave for feeding, walks, or medicine.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Flagstaff
Josh was fantastic with our two young (and somewhat high maintenance) kitties. His correspondence, followup, and details on his visits were such a relief and comfort as this was the first time they were left at home. I knew our kitties were in dependable hands, and he established such a warm rapport with them immediately, I think they missed him when our vacation was over! Josh is an expert Rover sitter and very familiar with the platform which was so helpful to us when we had to change an earlier booking due to illness. We appreciated his flexibility and help through that as well.

Kat was fantastic and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away for 5 days. Her detailed updates and all the pictures she sent after each visit made us feel so much better about leaving Fig for that long. She was attentive to his needs, gave him plenty of attention and playtime, and even went above and beyond by sweeping around his food bowl and bringing in our trash can. Fig warmed up to her quickly, and we always felt confident he was in great hands. We would absolutely book with Kat again and highly recommend her!

Devon was truly amazing!!! There were issues with my front door lock and she was unable to enter my apartment and she took it upon herself to work with the front desk to get a new key, and when that didn’t work waited until maintenance let her into the apartment. She also sent pictures of the kitties every visit, and I felt better knowing the cats were in her care. I cannot recommend her more.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Flagstaff. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
