I’ve had a variety of amazing dogs and cats throughout my life since I was six years old to today. Many people consider themselves either a dog or cat person, but I can’t imagine my life without either. I find animals such a wonderful addition to life’s enjoyments, and find that they especially benefit mental health. As someone with a mental illness, being around animals brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I am looking for a job to make some extra income with I work on getting my Master’s Degree at NAU. I am an online student so I have a very flexible schedule. I am familiar with animals across ages 9 months-seniors, and all dog sizes (I’ve had both a 12 pound dog and a 72 pound one!). I love playing with my animals and taking my dog for walks or out to the dog park. I offer as many pets and snuggles as they would like, while also respecting an animal’s boundaries. I am good at recognizing stress signals and managing animals interacting with one another, including dogs and cats together. My years of experience include time I’ve spent caring for my own and other’s animals.

Safety, trust & environment
I give each animal the amount of attention and stimulation it needs everyday, including play and pets. I enjoy giving each animals a treat once a day, and have my dog Bella do some “tricks” before receiving one. Bella is kennel trained and the cats are free to roam around. I respect however one chooses to open their space to their animals. Some people don’t kennel train, but they shut certain doors in the house. Another important thing for me is making the environment inviting through presence of toys, bones, blankets, beds, and cat trees (we have one at our apartment). I try to leave the windows or blinds open during the day so the cats can spend time looking outside (they are indoor cats, but I have had outdoor cats). I will also sometimes play those pet TV videos on YouTube.

Alissa is a dedicated pet parents and adores her animals more than anything! As a previous roommate, I got to see first hand the amount of stimulation, proper exercise, and overall care she provided to her animals. Additionally, I’ve trusted them with multiple of my own animals on multiple occasions, and would again! There’s no one better I would trust to take care of my furry friends, and I think you should too!
Alissa has taken exceptional care of my dog, Finn. Even though he's only six, he only has four and a half teeth and has a bad back that requires him to be picked up in a very specific way. Alissa has always been careful to follow those instructions, and I completely trust her with his care. She is dependable, compassionate, and truly loves animals. I always know Finn is safe, comfortable, and happy when he's with her. I highly recommend Alissa to anyone looking for a responsible and loving pet caregiver.

Schedule
I fit my schedule to work around my animals’ needs, especially my dog’s. I am going to school full time online, and work for a few hours a month at my church, which allows me to be home when I need to. I either give my dog a walk or take her to the dog park once a day. I have a routine for feeding and make sure I am home every 2-4 hours to let me dog out to the bathroom.
