“Kate was great to work with and helped us feel much more comfortable being away from our cat. She was communicative, friendly, and responsible. Would fully recommend her services to other pet owners.”

“Monica has been so sweet, and willing to come on last minute visit requests. She goes above and beyond anyone I’ve met, even voluntarily cleaning up puppy messes or accidents he might have gotten in to after breaking out of crates. She always keep me updated and sends the cutest photos. So thankful for her, and love to continue my pups play time with her.”

About: Throughout my teen years, I’ve taken care of many pets; from training my puppies to caring for relatives’ pets. No matter the circumstances, I always have a fun time caring for these pets. I’m on the hunt for a part time job so I’m available all the time to care for pets! What better to do than doing something I love? I have three dogs at home and big yard but as we warm my dogs up to playing with others as part of their puppy training, we’ll keep your pets in your home.

About: Hi, we’re Bree (22) and Nick (23)! We have loved and cared for animals our entire lives. Growing up, our homes were always filled with pets, ranging from dogs and cats to hedgehogs and lizards! Because of this, we are incredibly comfortable with all kinds of personalities, energy levels, and unique care needs. We absolutely love all animals and will do everything to make them feel safe, happy, and right at home when you’re away. When your pet is with us, they will get lots of attention, plenty of playtime, and a schedule that follows your requests. We promise to send you daily photo updates so you never have to worry. We can't wait to meet your furry family members! Bree: I will be the primary person taking care of your pets! As a graduate student and a part-time substitute teacher, my schedule is predictable. Depending on my workload, I may work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I would be away for short subbing shifts from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, meaning I am home all afternoon and evening. On Wednesdays, I have class, but to ensure pets are never left alone for too long, Nick can stop by during his lunch break for a midday potty and playtime break. Fridays-Sundays I have full availability! Nick: Nick has a full time job, so he will be available to help out when not working! Safety is my absolute top priority. I always ensure that doors, gates, and windows are closed before letting any animal roam. When we go for walks, pets are securely leashed at all times, and I am always aware of my surroundings. I ensure all hazardous items and human foods are stored far out of reach. For peace of mind, I provide clear communication and send regular photo and text updates throughout the day!
“Katie gave my one cat a pill every day and scooped the litter box while we were away. She came over before we left to go over instructions and said she would message us if there were any issues. We came back to nice clean litter boxes, and we did not get any messages so I’m assuming she was good giving the medication! Thanks Katie!”

“I’m so glad that I found Morgan! She is wonderful with my dogs, they just love her, she is on time, reliable, and her communication is perfect. Definitely rebooking!”

“Joanne was WONDERFUL! I highly recommend her! She is so friendly and responsive . My dog loved her and she was on time when she was supposed to arrive. I had some issues regarding the times after it was booked and she completely understood and was there when I needed her to walk my dog. I know it can be hard trusting someone with your pets, but Joanne is definitely professional and you can trust her 100%.”

“3 of our cats are extremely shy and won't come out for anyone, but anytime Izzy watches them, all 4 come out to see her. This speaks volumes as to how Izzy interacts with them and the care she provides. She does an outstanding job and always sends pictures and updates. We highly recommend Izzy as a pet sitter and will continue using her for all of our future trips.”

“Aimee was great! This was my first time using Rover and she made me feel super comfortable by stopping in for a quick visit with myself and the puppy. During her visit she sent lots of pictures and was prompt with her arrival time. Will use her again!!”

“Jenny did an amazing job taking care of our cats while we were away. We would absolutely use her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter”

About: I have been taking care of my friends’ and neighbors’ dogs and cats since I was 15. I have been hired to dog and cat sit during the day (for pets of all ages), walking dogs, and drop in visits to feed animals and play with them! I am currently in physical therapy school and have a very flexible schedule. I am available after 4pm Monday through Friday and off on the weekends. Starting May 1st I will be available all day everyday except for days marked off! I have a fence and big backyard. When caring for others pets, I am able to let them outside with a fence or able to take them out on a leash. I also have a car if they enjoy car rides!
“I don’t know where to even begin. Julia was absolutely amazing and our two boys just loved her! On the first home visit she came in, hyped up the boys into going outside, and gave them lots of treats. Our dogs are not normally around other people but they are also big babies. I would definitely recommend Julia and we will be booking with her again 😊”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
