“If I could give her 100 stars, I would! I was traveling and couldn’t into our regular boarding and no other boarding facilities had openings. So I checked out Rover & booked a stay with Codi! It couldn’t have gone ANY better. She would send regular pictures with updates about their activity and well being! The whole trip I was able to relax knowing that are fur babies were being loved and truly attended to! I will absolutely recommend Codi & 100% will rebook with her again!”

About: Hi! I am a stay-at-home mom of a human baby and two fur babies. I previously worked in upstate NY for a dog training company, My Dog Hikes, as a dog hiker where we took dogs from NYC into the woods for full day dog-care fun. Because of this I am comfortable giving medication and using training commands. I also have a Cattle Dog (Clayton) and Black Lab mix (Tarzan) of my own. I would love to take your little ones on the trails, play fetch in the yard, or just snuggle on the couch with lots of pets. I have a very open schedule so can work around any timeframe you need! As childcare is very expensive, please note before booking me that my son, Eli (3), will be joining me on my jobs. We can always meet beforehand to see if it's a good fit! Additionally - I do not accept requests for recurring weekly services and prefer them to be sporadic. As I am a stay-at-home mom your typical work week is when I am available. I can be flexible around your schedule! I can also stop by to spend some time with your pets on the weekend, so you can go enjoy a trip away. (: I do not care for dogs in my own home as my Lab does not like other dogs. In your home, however, I take care to follow all instructions closely! I take many pictures so prepare for cuteness overload. I also have experience working with a dog training/walking company in NYC and am comfortable with a wide array of needs.
“Natascha took great care of our two Maine Coon cats, Remy & Ratchet! Her dedication is truly appreciated. The feeding routine was followed precisely, ensuring they ate well while we were away. The daily photo updates showing them lounging, eating & engaging with Natascha were wonderful and reassured us completely. The prompt communication made us feel so comfortable leaving them in her care. Booking again would not be a hesitation and we highly recommend this sitter to anyone seeking a truly caring and professional cat sitter.”

“Princess help me out tremendously for my 30 day trip abroad. Did two weekly visits and followed the -admittedly- overly specific instructions required for all of my cats including their food, litter-robot, and more. Made my trip so much less stressful!”

“Mary checked on our two cats while we were out of town. She did great! We appreciated all her updates and pictures. We will definitely reach out to her again for future pet sitting needs!”

“Amanda was wonderful! She did a wonderful job keeping me updated on my two cats and sent lots of photos. Definitely recommend her and I know I’ll book her again.”

“My cat loved Kimberly and she was able to complete all tasks asked. She took adorable pictures of her as well which I appreciated. Would recommend her as a pet sitter! Thank you so much!”

“Great help looking after our cats! My one silly boy managed to lock himself in the bathroom within a day of us leaving for our trip, so every visit Jerry made sure to check that he could see the cats before he left so there wouldn’t be anymore jailed kitties - thanks again!”

“Constance spent a great deal of time at our meet and greet getting to know our dogs and me as the dog mom. I was so comfortable after that first meeting I asked her to check in on our cats that week! When I tell you she got the best photos of our “large and not so in charge” cat Henry Purrito…well, it made us happy. I could tell they were well cared for and happy. She’s responsive to requests, flexible and dependable. I’m looking forward to her walking our dogs five days a week!”

“Khayl is responsible and trustworthy. Our cats are afraid of everyone. But she manages to coax at least one of them out when she drops in. I highly recommend Khayl. She keeps us posted and stress free when we are not home.”

About: I saved my Chihuahua, Thistle, from a kill shelter when he was 18 months old. I nursed him through being hit by a car, helped him gain weight from being underfed, and encouraged him to be a confident dog (he was extremely anxious) through training and gentle love and care. From this, I learned how to administer medications to animals, so I can provide this kind of care to your fur babies also. My Chihuahua is now a senior dog, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how active he is! He gets lots of walks and play time, and he loves it best when I get on the floor with him. I am comfortable getting to know your pet and giving them the level and type of attention that they need! I looked into breed specific care, and Chihuahuas have weaker joints, so I put him on a joint supplement right when I got him, and it has really made a difference in his mobility and quality of life. It’s important to administer care to animals in the specific way that is best for them! I would show the same consideration to your pet. That includes factoring in their temperament. As my dog has gotten older, his needs around personal boundaries have increased, so I make sure to check in with him before petting him, picking him up, or otherwise touching him, and I do not touch him if he gives me a no, except in an actual emergency (i.e. the animal could be hurt or hurt someone else if I do not touch them). Instead, I do something else and check in again later. This allows me to establish a real felt sense of safety and trust with your pet. I also had cats all growing up, and have a real affection for them, as well as a clear understanding of their boundaries. I would be honored to care for your pet family just as I care for mine! I currently freelance, which means I have the freedom to take care of your pets whenever you need me to. I can be flexible to your needs. As my dog is a people’s dog and not a dog’s dog, I offer my services in your home. I can walk your pet, do a drop-in visit, or housesit! I will follow your instructions to the letter, and ask about any specific or special care your pet might need.
“We had Meghan caring for our two cats for 26 DAYS when we were in Europe and she did an amazing Job with their food and litter boxes and our older cat's medication - Both cats are clean and happy and healthy and we are very pleased with her love and care for them. We have booked her services again for the Christmas holidays.”

About: I have raised a puppy, and also dog-sat and cat-sat many times. I do have one cat living with me now and love all animals. I work from home M-F 7-3 but my schedule is flexible, I can take long lunches or leave early if needed. I can also take my laptop on the go if necessary to provide company for your pet. Regular feeding and walks for dogs or interaction for cats. Positive reinforcement. Regularly cleaning litter box. Keeping their water refilled and fresh. Also lots of play/cuddles.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Fernwood
Nora is absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend her enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She has always taken such wonderful care of our pets and our home, and I feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in her hands while we’re away. This trip, I ended up having a couple of extra requests come up, and Nora went above and beyond to help me with every single one of them without hesitation. She is incredibly dependable, accommodating, responsive, and genuinely caring. It means so much to have a pet sitter I can truly rely on, especially when I’m away from home. Nora consistently makes things easier and gives me such peace of mind knowing everyone is being well cared for. We are so grateful for her and feel very lucky to have found her. She will absolutely continue to be our go-to sitter! ❤️🐾

Alyssa is amazing! I highly recommend. I just moved to Washington and was panicking about leaving my babies for a few days not knowing anyone. I found her profile on Rover and reached out because she looked like she would be amazing with animals. She sent me the cutest pictures and was so sweet with them! I have one cat who is scared of most people. She let Alyssa love all over her. I love knowing I have someone I trust to take care of my babies while I’m gone. I am so thankful for her!

Absolutely nothing to complain about. Khayl came by prior to trip to get a lay of the land and meet my whole damn zoo. They were super communicative, asking great questions and providing detailed pet updates daily. I know my pets were well taken care of because they barely batted an eye when we returned! Clearly Khayl provided them with more than adequate feedings and lovings. Would recommend.

Wynona jumped in to help us out when our regular sitter was unavailable. She was wonderful!! She was prompt, communicative, and helped looked after our home while we were gone. She went out of her way to visit an additional day when I had a delivery too. Super sweet, and thoughtful. She even came by ahead of time to learn the nuances. Highly recommend!

Victoria was wonderful! I have two cats who are usually very shy around new people, but they were comfortable around her. She took pictures every time she came over, and from the very first day, she had the shy cats interacting and playing with her. She was communicative throughout and took excellent care of things, including giving photo updates on how much they’d eaten. I would definitely book her again in the future.

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
