“Dana is a great sitter. My cat was safe and comfortable while I was away and that gave me the freedom to thoroughly enjoy my rare time off. Much appreciated. Dana came by at the time that I requested and did everything I asked of him. He sent me photos and behavior reports. I would definitely recommend his services and I hope he continues to be available for my next vacation. Thanks Dana!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 10! I’ve always had 3-4 pets at a time so I understand the high/low maintenance, the picky eaters, and the ones that need medical assistance. I personally have dogs that have medical issues and have to make sure their needs are met constantly. I’ve worked on a farm so I have great experience with all types of animals. Neighbors and friends rely on me #1 to walk, play, feed, and take care of their pets. I currently work part time. I will have plenty of time during the day to play, feed, walk your pups! I’m an early bird so if you’re looking for someone early in the mornings, I’m your girl! I will follow whatever your protocol is for your pets! I want them to feel as comfortable as possible with me. I look forward to meeting all of your furry friends!
“Sean is wonderful! We have a high energy pittie and he not only knew how to handle him but actually connected with him. It was so comforting to know our pup was cared for by someone who understands him, especially considering we hadn’t left him alone with anyone before. So grateful for such attentive and loving care!”

“Danielle watched our cats for the week. She was a communicative sitter. She took daily photos of our cats eating and playing. She gave one of our cats medication. We highly recommend Danielle and would love to have her take care of our babies in the future!”

“Ava was really great with our cat while we were away. We can tell from the pictures that she was attentive and loving. Ava has great communication and we will definitely rebook!”

“Julia provided excellent care for my two cats with twice daily visits. I always feel at ease having her care for my senior cat who needs medication. Julia provides care for my cats several times per year - reliable and punctual with excellent communication!”
“Haley was fantastic! Extremely friendly, reliable, and completely natural with our cats. She followed all of our instructions, took excellent care of them, and sent wonderful photos during our time away. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such capable hands and would absolutely book her again.”

“Trederica was wonderful! Kept me updated with pictures every visit & accommodated all my needs when it came to my fur baby, would absolutely book her again.”

“Shelby was great! She sent photos, made friends with our brave cat, and worked to earn trust with our shy cat. Went above and beyond by getting down on her belly to take a photo of our shy cat under the bed each day! We hope to hire Shelby again in the future!”

“Amanda was so incredible checking in on our girl. She gave great info every time she went over and made us feel so comfortable while we were away. She even helped try and reset our WiFi when it went down for us. She is super nice and we’ve already rebooked her to watch our girl on an upcoming trip!”

About: I have cared for animals for 20+ years and I have three years of professional experience working in a veterinary setting as an assistant for a doctor on the board of the Dallas Zoo, where we treated all types of exotics and household pets from monkeys to hyenas to anteaters as well as people's dogs, cats, rabbits, and more. I also spent 5 years fostering special needs dogs, as well as puppies, kittens, rabbits, and even a hedgehog! Having relocated to Philly and changing careers, I deeply miss taking care of animal companions! I have a cat and a big free roaming rabbit who are my babies, my housemates, and dearest friends, and in my free time I have a few neighborhood dogs I walk from word of mouth opportunities. I have experience giving medication, caring for seniors and special needs pets, and am comfortable with any level of caregiving for any temperament of pet. Whether you have goats, pigs, dogs, cats, birds, rats, rabbits, donkeys, or anyone in between, I'd love to be there to help support you and your pet's unique needs. I work evenings as a cook, 4 nights a week (which nights they are vary weekly), but I am always available in the morning, and I am very flexible around my work schedule, on days I am not at work, I am generally fully open! I am willing to work around the clock for your pet care needs! I do have a cat and a large free roaming access who have full access to my home, so if you have boarding needs, I need to be sure your pets do not have high prey drive, otherwise I will need to come care for them in your home! But my cat and rabbit are both extremely sweet and social and have been around all sorts of animals successfully. If I am coming to your home, just let me know your and your pet's needs and I will be there to assist and support in whatever capacity is needed!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Fern Rock
Hadiya is wonderful! It's difficult to find someone you can trust with your fur babies and your home. As soon as we met Hadiya, we knew she was the right person. We have two shy kittens (other cat sitters had taken care of them for weeks at a time and never even saw them). But they warmed up to Hadiya almost instantly! We couldn't believe it. Hadiya is detailed oriented, reliable, thorough, and so sweet with our cats. She took the time to build their trust AND got all the care tasks done too. We can't recommend her enough.

Alexys is an amazing pet sitter. She took excellent care of my cats for the week I was away. She really went above and beyond looking for my scared cat Ricky when he was hiding under the bed to make sure he was ok. She kept me updated twice a day with summaries and photos so that I could rest assured that my furbabies were well taken care of!!! I highly recommend Alexys for you pet care needs.

Nikki was very responsive and took the time to come by for a meet-and-greet before the service began. She did a wonderful job caring for our two cats while we were away, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. We would absolutely book with her again in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
