“Madison was great and went above and beyond during her visits. Our Cat Mocha is doing great and things are in order, we did not have any issues or questions . We will definitely keep her in mind for the upcoming trips/plan, as well as refer her to others. We really appreciate Madison's help. The whole process was very smooth. Thanks Rover and Madison!”

“I've booked Kaylee many times and will continue to do so. Her communication is excellent--she responds promptly whether she can accept the job or not. The dogs seem to love her too! They look so happy in the pics she sends. Trustworthiness is everything.”

“Molly is the best! She took great care of my dog while I was away. She is my dog watcher the amount of care and attention to detail was absolutely on point. Highly recommend her.”

“Ailen was amazing with my sweet Izzy, who absolutely loved her. It was love at first sight, for sure! Ailen sent me pictures & videos, the whole time I was away at an event & it was evident that Izzy was having so much fun & felt right at home with Ailen. Can’t wait for her to come back next month, when we need to go out of town overnight. I highly recommend Ailen for your sweet dog too! 😊”

About: I have had pets and have been around animals my whole life. I have pet sit dogs of all sizes. I don’t mind cleaning up after accidents lol. I have experience taking pups to their grooming appointments. If you have any special requests such as administering meds let me know. I am currently a college student studying pre-med. I also have a part-time job that is very flexible, so if you notify me in advance I can definitely accommodate. I am pretty much completely free throughout the holiday season. It all depends on the pet. I am very accommodating. I like playing with the energetic pups, but I also love cuddling with the shy ones too. If it’s a drop in, i’ll pass by 3-4 times a day for an hour or so.

About: I’m a mom to 4 rambunctious children and 1 kid friendly chihuahua(14) and 1 loving husky pit mix(1). When most people meet my dog they are surprised at how friendly he is and how good he is with our young children. We used to have two dogs but we had to put older one down due to seizures and brain issues. In high school I worked in an army veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant for a cooperative work experience program. My original plan in life was to be a veterinarian but after having to assist with some tough cases I decided just being a good pet owner and caregiver was more my speed. I’m a full time stay at home mom and love playing with my dogs and kids in my spare time. I’d love to help you care for your fur baby as well. I’m pretty flexible. I’m home days once I get my kids get off to school during the day. In the evenings and on weekends I take them to their respective practices or games but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time to care for and give your fur baby some love as well. I like to take my fur babies for about a mile walk in the morning and then my younger pup will go on another half mile walk with me in the after noon. My older guys stays home and chills but he gets lots of love and snuggles at home.

About: I have owned dogs for most of my life. My experience ranges from small/mini dog breeds to large labradors. I love all types of dogs! I have house sat for multi dog houses and love to take dogs on walks. I work from home, so I thankfully have some flexibility. I am available M-F anytime between 12 and 2. I can potentially do other times M-F, but have a little less flexibility. Feel free to ask about if I'm available. I'm available again M-F after 5. Saturdays I an available all day and Sundays I am available after 12 I always try to keep them within eye sight. I make sure their energy gets out since a tired dog is a happy dog. Lastly, I ensure they get endless pets and snuggles (if they like snuggles)
“Annie was fantastic! She came over to meet my cat and get care instructions prior to her drop-ins and took wonderful care of my baby while I was gone? Great communication, great pricing, and she sent lots of pictures! Will definitely book with her again next time!”

About: I’ve cared for pets of all ages and sizes, from playful puppies to sweet senior pets who need extra TLC. Over the years, I’ve provided daily walks, feeding, playtime, medication administration, and lots of love! I understand how important it is to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable when their families are away. I’m experienced with: • Puppies and potty training routines • Senior pets who need gentle care or slower walks • Administering medications (oral or topical) • High-energy dogs needing extra exercise Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because of my flexible schedule. I’m available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, making it easy to provide consistent care. I also offer overnight stays and extended visits, ensuring your pets have company, comfort, and care around the clock while you’re away. Whether it’s a midday walk, evening cuddle time, or a full weekend stay, I can adapt to your pet’s schedule so they feel safe and loved in their own home. I provide a safe and loving environment where your pet can feel right at home. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor play and potty breaks, and your pet will also enjoy the company of my friendly, well-socialized dog King. For pets who need their own space, I can easily provide separation during meals or downtime and am comfortable with crates if that’s part of their routine. I always supervise playtime, keep a clean, pet-friendly home, and follow your pet’s normal schedule to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away.
“Sydnee is an excellent animal caretaker! My husband and I hired Sydnee to drop in and take care of our cats while we were on a short trip away, and we will gladly hire her again! She is very kind and cares deeply for your fur babies! She is also very professional, reliable, thorough, and a great communicator. She went above and beyond on more than one occasion to be accommodating to us, and even checked our mail for us! We highly recommend Sydnee and will gladly be repeat customers in the future!”

“Tara took such good care of our Cat! Right from the start she communicated well with us and provided expert care for our older cat who needs medication twice daily. We could see in the photos he enjoyed her visits and playtime. He was calm and relaxed when we returned home. Tara went above beyond!”

“Hannah was available at short notice, and did a great job with my two pups - caring for them as if they were her own. She is a warm, friendly, and responsible person. I will use her again!”

About: I’m experienced with a variety of dog breeds, temperaments, ages and sizes! I have had experience for all my life, growing up with dogs and being the go to dog sitter/walker for all my friends and family. I work a 9-5 so my routine for dogs would be weekends, weekdays morning and afternoon. I’m able to take lunch breaks for mid days walks. Depending on service the dogs get premium care, attention and play. If I’m working I’ll make sure I can either work from home or take breaks so pups aren’t left alone for long. Proper feeding is important to me as some dogs require specific feeding/medicines, and treats. I’ll accommodate to whatever needs you and your pups have!

About: I have been around dogs my entire life and I certainly enjoy being around them and making sure they are loved and cared for. I am extremely comfortable around dogs as well having a knack for quick training. I have had the responsibility of caring for my family pup for the time that I was living with my mother. I miss taking care of my dog greatly, and I think this opportunity to walk other pups is a great way to fill that void. I am currently a student and a part time worker at whole foods, but I do have availability during the week and some times during the weekend, I can make special arrangements if needed. Im excited to meet you and your fur baby!?
“Kristin was wonderful! She treated my cats like her own. Great communication and consistency gave me peace of mind while I was out of the country. My cats were happy and my home was well cared for when I returned.”

About: I grew up taking care of three dogs at home while my parents were away at work. I’ve always been great at keeping the dogs entertained. I always volunteered at the cat shelter, Good Mews, for a number of years. I am jobless for the summer other than rover so I can take care of dogs anytime all the time. My schedule is very flexible. I make sure to always keep my eye on my pets to make sure they don’t go anywhere they aren’t supposed to or get into anything they shouldn’t.

About: I am a multi dog owner who has 20+ years of care giving experience with all sorts of animals. Currently I spend my days with my 2 pups taking walks, playing, and cuddling. I am extremely blessed to have a very flexible and open schedule that I would love to fill caring for your dogs & puppies! I love spending time with pets and look forward to hanging out with your furry friends very soon!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
