About: As a long time pet lover, I began caring for dogs in my neighborhood and volunteering at the local animal shelter at the age of 12. I went on to work for a local petsitting company as a house sitter and dog walker while I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I am a skilled dog trainer currently offering training services in the Eugene/Springfield area. My dog training career started when I completed an internship with a local dog trainer in high school and since then I have continued to expand my knowledge of dog behavior through training experience, research, interviews with trainers, and online courses. I utilize gentle training techniques that reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in dogs and promote relaxation and confidence. I never engage in harsh training methods such as prong collars, shock collars, dominance, or physical force; my techniques are based only on positive reinforcement and trust. I specialize in training dogs with separation anxiety so if your dog suffers from this, they will be in good hands and they will never be left alone for long periods. Before joining Rover, I was already providing dog boarding and daycare to my existing training clients. I have experience with a variety of senior dogs and I am able to administer any medications your dog requires. I also offer daily teeth brushing if this is part of your dog's routine. You can rest assured that whatever your pet's needs are, they will be met while they are under my care. I am also an independently insured petsitter with Pet Care Insurance which covers accidents or injuries and provides that extra peace of mind. Petsitting and dog training is my full-time job and my husband works from home, so there is usually always someone home with the dogs. I provide boarding and daycare 7-days a week and your dog’s health and happiness is my sole responsibility allowing me to be attentive to your dog's needs throughout the day. My home is an ideal boarding or daycare situation for your small dog. I only accept dogs that stand 17 inches or less at the shoulder and weigh 30lbs or less. I do occasionally make exceptions to this rule for senior dogs up to 40lbs that are very good with small dogs, calm, low energy and slow moving. I also have a maximum of 5 dogs staying with me at a time (which is a group of 8 if you include my own 3 dogs) and this keeps the overall energy more calm and less chaotic. I don’t accept Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Pitbull Terriers, Bulldogs, Bull Terriers, Huskys, German Shepherds and Chow Chows or their mixes due to these breeds not being a good fit for my small dog environment (a small percentage of 15% or less is okay if it came up in your dog’s mixed breed DNA test though). Please keep in mind I carefully screen all dogs for proper temperament and your dog needs to be friendly and well accepted by my pack during a daycare trial or meet and greet in order to be approved for boarding. My priority is to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for small dogs, and reduce the risk of injury. I have a house with a dog door and securely fenced yard. Your dog will have frequent potty breaks and full access to the house and yard. At night I offer a number of different sleeping options depending on your dog’s size and temperament. They might sleep loose in the living room where they'll have comfy couches and beds available, in a soft sided crate on our bed (or on the floor next to the bed), or in an exercise pen. If your dog is small enough, comfortable and tolerant of other dogs around them, and sleeps peacefully then they will be allowed to sleep in the bed with us, but it depends on the dog. I do not by default require dogs to be crate trained, and if you prefer your dog not be crated they can usually have a crate-free experience at my house. In this case, I only use a crate or exercise pen as a last resort if your dog displays destructive behaviors that cannot be managed any other way. I am very safety oriented and I will ensure your dog is never left alone with my dogs, or dogs from other households. I use tall pet gates to ensure all entrances are secure when doors to the outside are being opened to prevent escapes. I always check the vaccination status (including bordatella) of all potential dogs who stay with me. If your dog experiences an illness or injury during their stay I will contact your dog’s usual veterinarian. In case of an emergency after hours I can take them to Wilvet South at 444 B Street in Springfield. I do everything I can to make sure your pet has an stress-free, comfortable stay with me.

About: I've had pets since I was born. Cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and age. I've spent the last 14 years with my soul dog. He was a Golden/Lab/St. Bernard with a lot of anxiety and a huge love of food. In his old age he had mobility problems, incontinence, was on several medications, and needed as much attention as I could give him. I am fully prepared to give any animal I meet the same level of love and care. I've been the main care provider for my dogs for the last 14 years and always put their needs before mine. Taking them potty is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night. Furry friends rely on us for care and I want to make sure they are doing great. When I care for pets in your home I will follow your instructions to a T. Make sure they get lots of love, cuddles (if they like them), and attention.

About: I've grown up around and cared for all sorts of animals all my life, especially dogs and cats. I've been dog sitting specifically for around 2 years, including caring for elderly dogs with strict needs/ medical issues, and anxious dogs. Despite mostly sitting for dogs at this point I'm also well versed with cats (having one of my own). I am a full-time college student, so while that takes up some time I am free Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's anytime after 2 and fully on the weekends. I make sure to follow their needs closely, keeping them on schedule with feeding, medications if necessary, etc. If an animal needs lots of interaction I make sure to give them as much attention as they want and if they don't then I make sure they're given the space they need. The individual animals care it of utmost importance and I make sure to individualize my care based on what each specific animal needs :)

About: Hello I’m Griffin, I moved to Eugene last September to accept a job with a local nonprofit. I absolutely love dogs, to the point where my entire social media algorithm just presents me with puppy videos (all dogs are puppies to me.) I grew up with dogs, specifically Labradors, Cairn terriers and a Yorkie. When I was in Peace Corps in Ukraine, I had adopted a street dog and named him Dantinos. Sadly due to pandemic I was unable to bring my buddy back. There’s a big dog shaped hole in my heart. So, I decided to give this a try. My nonprofit job, while rewarding and interesting, isn’t cutting it for the cost of living today. I work full time but have remote work flexibility and live within a few minutes walking distance from my place of work- so whether it’s boarding or drop-ins, or walks, there’s a great opportunity to make it work. I would love to meet and pet and give your puppy some scratches if you’ll have me. I’ve got 35 years experience because I’ve grown with dogs all my life; and while I am not able to care for my own right now, taking a stroll with your puppy might be a win win win situation. I work full time, but have remote work flexibility and given a day or two in advance could likely block off some time to visit or walk a pet. Especially after lunch, when scheduled meetings are less frequent. When it comes to boarding- my work is literally a 5-8 min walk from my apartment- so even if I need to be in the office, coming back for potty breaks are not a problem. Fridays are generally half days, giving a little more flexibility I care for dogs by giving them love and affection when they want it. I’ve got a weakness for giving a dog treats with those pleading eyes, but I promise that I would never feed another persons dog anything not allowed, and certainly know to avoid over feeding. Eugene is a beautiful place and I think it would be a pleasure to take a stroll with your dog.

About: I have cared for many family and friends’ pets and am a dog mom myself. I have a spacious fenced backyard and a 11 lb pup for your furry friend to play with, my chiweenie Loki. I work from home and live a couple blocks away from the Amazon trails and dog park. I am very flexible to give your furry friend attention as needed throughout the day. I have a fenced yard I let Loki freely come and go from- and of course your pup would have the same care. About: I have volunteered at the Humane Society of Utah weekly for 5 years with both dogs and cats where I’ve had the opportunity to care for both dogs and cats with all kinds of personalities and needs. Last year I moved to Oregon to pursue my undergraduate degree (go ducks!) and I’m so excited to bring my experience and love for animals to caring for your pets!! At home in Utah I have two dogs (Millie and Iroh) and a cat (Luna) and have been caring for them for the past 5 years. Iroh has epilepsy and anxiety so I am experienced with handling animal medications and special needs. I’m dedicated to making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away, and I’m happy to accommodate their individual routines, personalities, and needs. I'm currently in school at University of Oregon but do not have a job outside of that so I have a fairly flexible schedule. Typically, I am in class from 12-5pm, which means I’m available to spend my mornings and evenings with your pups and kitties! My priority is making sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their normal environment. I’ll follow their usual routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any other care they need. About: My whole life I’ve always had at least one dog! I currently have 3 dogs who live at my parents’ house and I regularly go home and take care of the 3 of them. The youngest (Kona) has Addison’s disease and needs a pill once a day so I have some experience caring for dogs with special needs. I also raised Kona from puppyhood and taught her how to sit, shake, lie down and high five! I’m currently a full time college student studying human physiology! I have my schedule set up so I have breaks in between all my classes allowing time to go home and hang out with pups and take them out for potty breaks! I currently live in an apartment with no other animals so your fur baby will be my top priority! I also live near multiple parks so potty breaks and walks will never be an issue!

About: At this point in my life, I have cared for almost any domestic, exotic or farm animal that one can run into! Time spent working with snakes and spiders in a reptile shop, working on farms with cattle, goats and chickens, and caring for everyones furry companions like cats, dogs and rodents in homes has left me feeling well prepared to handle whatever critters come our way. My remaining pet is Sharkbait, a 9 year old heeler mix, who has been the everywhere and everything dog with me for the last 8+ years. She has met all of the above animals in her time and is the ultimate friend to all. As a retired service animal, she is kind and intuitive while responding calmly to reactive animals she meets. This makes her the perfect travel companion and buddy for all your babies and she will always be with me on sitting and walking jobs as she and I like to stay very active, walking anywhere from 2-6 miles daily together. Lets chat about your animals specific needs and background! Being active is a huge part of my day and I love making sure your animals are included in that! Walks to the park and jogs around the block are my favorite way to keep your pets focus while expending that pent up energy. For homebody pets I love a good puzzle or snuffle toy to keep their minds working in their safe space. Meet and greets together as a family are priority so that when you're out of town or at work, your pet(s) can trust Sharkbait and I are there to support them.
