“Rosie and Jackson stayed with Sheila for day care. I had 2 very tired pups in the evening (and they are still sleeping) and I'm a happy Mom! I received photos and messages from my pups throughout the day how well they were doing. I didn't have to worry about them at all! Pups had Great time!”

“Alexandra is fabulous! She has watched my 1 year old goldendoodle several times and had been very flexible and accommodating with my hectic work schedule. You can tell she really loves dogs and I can always tell he's been well taken care of when I pick him up. I love getting updates during the day- she takes him on walks and he always comes home so tired and happy from playing with her dogs. I highly recommend her to take care of your baby(s)!”

About: I've always had pets growing up from turtles, fish, ferrets and cats and dogs! I have watched several of my friends and family pets. I am currently working from home 40 hours a week and can host a dog or 2 depending on size for daycare/boarding. I am also available for morning and evening check-ins and walks! I do work from home so your babies can come hang out with me and my puppers during the work day and play out all their energy! I do have a 1.5 yr old golden doodle who loves to play and stays home with me now that I work from home. We love to go on walks or go to the park.
“She is lovely! Rocky loves her so much and is always so happy to see her. He loves when she takes him on walks and spends time with her. Genuinely couldn’t ask for someone better to trust my dog with”

“Samantha is the best. Our pit is 3 yrs old and Sam was our very first dog sitter when we got our puppy. 3 yrs later and Sam is Still our only dog sitter. She's great with animals, knows how to care for them, is willing to give you advice on issues you might be having and is always there to help. I have no reservations taking our fur kiddo to her and so very thankful we have her to rely on when we need an extra hand with our girl! Thank you Samantha!”

About: I grew up with our K-9 police dogs at home and have been dog sitting for military families in Germany, New Mexico and Florida for 5 years. I‘m a stay at home wife with 2 dogs and no children. Unfortunately not able to watch any cats due to me being allergic to cats. Also not able to watch dogs that aren’t potty trained due to carpet floors. I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I have crates available if needed and lots of toys and treats.

“We brought our 6 month old puppy to the beach with us and she barked like crazy in her kennel. I reached out to Lucia on Rover and she was quick to respond. She kept our girl (Harper) for us at her house while we enjoyed a beach day. I know Harper enjoyed her time with Lucia and we are so so thankful for her! I could tell within 2 minutes of meeting her she was a safe space for our dog and I was able to enjoy the beach knowing Harper was in the best hands!! We will be using her every summer!”

“We had a great experience with our Rover sitter, Jeanette! She was able to accommodate a last-minute request, which we really appreciated, and took excellent care of our dog while we were away. She sent regular photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind and let us see how happy and well cared for our pup was. Communication was smooth from start to finish, and we felt completely confident leaving our dog in her care. We would absolutely book with Jeanette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!”

About: I've been taking care of animals ever since I was young, from hamsters to fish to dogs and more. I've managed both calm and trouble making animals and have experience dealing with the full age range of pets due to my personal experience as a dog owner, and from my time volunteering as a foster home for dog shelters. I'm currently working part-time, and so I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I'm available for just about hour of day for any period of time. Taking care of animals has been my weekly norm since I was a kid, so it's just what I'm used to. I have a large fenced yard for pets to feel free and roam around, and I've a multitude of my own resources at home such as bowls, crates, and pens to be used as needed. I usually like to give a pet a feel of independence to wander however they'd like throughout the home and yard, but can easily step in if greater supervision is needed. I'm usually always in the same space as my animals.
“Kyasia was amazing! She sent updates with pics and was very accommodating with our drop off and pickup times. Our pup seemed much less anxious than when she stays with the sitter we normally use. Thank you, Ky!”

“Alexandra was great with Honey! Super easy to communicate with and made me feel comfortable leaving her there. Everything went smooth and I could tell my dog was well taken care of. Would definitely book again.”

“Ashlea is very friendly and accommodating. fast to respond and let me know our fur baby was doing good. She also sent me pictures and videos of her throughout the day. Would highly recommend and will use again if I’m ever in this area in the future. Thank you!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Eglin Village commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 319 sitters in Eglin Village, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
