“Clarissa did a wonderful job taking care of our dog for us. She did a meet and greet with our dog so he could get to know her a bit while I was at home. Our dog was nervous and barking when she arrived, but Clarissa was patient with him and able to read his body language. Our dog quickly warmed up to her and was taking treats from her a few minutes after she arrived. Clarissa was very fast to respond to my messages and she communicated with me throughout the drop in visits. She always sent lots of cute pictures and descriptive updates on each visit. Most of all, I was relieved knowing my dog was well taken care of in her care! Very grateful for her help!”

“Jessica was amazing with our dogs for drop in care while we were at Disney. I was not expecting her to send pictures and videos of the dogs so that was so nice to get live updates. She was very accommodating, and so professional. If you’re looking for a dog sitter and need someone on base then look no further. We will be booking her again this summer and we will have zero worries about our fur babies because we know they will be well taken care of.”

“Kathryn was very easy to get along with and she has a clear love of cats. She sent short but clear daily updates of feedings, cleanings, and how my cat was doing and interacting with her.”

“What a wonderful experience! Kristin Lynn always takes such good care of my cat and sends great photos. She’s communicative and super punctual, and I know my cat is safe with her. He even gets on her lap which is something that usually takes a while for him! Would recommend without hesitation.”

“Alexis was very flexible and kept us up to date. We had to make last minute changes to our travel plans and she worked with us very well. She took very good care of our little pup :) Thank you Alexis!”
About: I’ve taken care of multiple dog breeds throughout my life. Ranging from bloodhounds, German shepherds, to Belgian Malinois and others. I’m very familiar with working dog breeds and have trained myself own Belgian Malinois. No matter what need your furry family member needs, I will ensure it is met and exceeded. Currently I’m in the Army National Guard so I have tons of availability and free time to devote to animals and pet care. I also spend tons of time outside and hiking with my Belgian Malinois. I have a wooden fully fenced in back yard. I also am familiar with escapee dogs and am very quick to respond to many situations when needed. I am not afraid of confrontation so that is not a worry either.
“Melanie dropped by our home to check on our two kittens. She always sent updates and pictures. She communicated very well and was super trustworthy! We’ll definitely have her watch our cats again 😊”

“Awesome sitter and great picture taker. Missed our cat and was able to see her everyday. She also left detailed information on what she did as well as treated our cat like her own.”

“Vanessa was terrific and really put us at ease to leave our pets in her care. She was reliable and responsible with our kitties. They warmed up to her in a few days as she was a natural with them. We really are 100% pleased and feeling great about finding Vanessa.”

“Jennifer is so nice and was great with my two cats! I felt comforted knowing that she was there to take care of them while I was gone. Would definitely book her again in the future :)”
About: I have been around animals my whole life and currently have one dog, three cats (one senior with chronic illnesses/daily meds), four hermit crabs, one ball python, and 10 quail. In the past, I have cared for fish, snails, horses, rabbits, ferrets, a tarantula, and a variety of birds. I am open to watching animals of all kinds! I am able to provide drop in care any time on the weekends and morning/lunchtime/evening during the work week. I am also able to provide dog boarding in my home. For in home care, I am able to accommodate up to 2 dogs from the same household. I have a large, pet friendly house and fenced back yard. All boarding dogs must be cat friendly and good with other dogs.
“Kayle was extremely thorough and thoughtful with our cat. She was quick to respond and communicated often, and clearly. She was very accommodating and sent us regularly updates during our most recent trip out of town. Would 100% trust her with our cat again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 416 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Eglin Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eglin Village. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
