“Alexis was perfect. She navigated a nervous and anxious dog at the start, and he’s as happy as ever when I came home. I know he had fun and Alexis’ updates were perfect. Great communication and flexibility. Definitely recommend and will be using her again. Very very happy.”

“Taylor is the absolute best. HIGHLY recommend. She was so great about giving updates on our dog the entire time and treated panda as her own! She will definitely be my go to girl moving forward! Taylor went above and beyond all expectations. Thank you so much, Taylor!!!”

“Hannah did a great job watching both our dogs. She went above and beyond before during and after watching our babies! We'll definitely look her up again when back in the area. Thanks for everything Hannah!!”

“Christine was awesome! She was so good with our little guy and helped him settle into a new place. I booked way in advanced and she was the first sitter that did not cancel and checked in with me. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Bethany was absolutely amazing with all 3 of our girls who have different personalities. She was able to adjust and meet the needs of each fur baby. I checked on the girls halfway through our trip and Bethany gave me a good report with pictures. She was very respectful of our home.”

About: Hi! I’m Ashley, a lifelong animal lover with over 20 years of experience caring for pets for friends, family, and my own household. I currently have two cats of my own, Twinkie and Binx, who are spoiled members of the family and remind me every day how important it is to provide pets with love, attention, and consistency. Throughout my life, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I grew up with multiple dogs ranging from a small Rat Terrier to a Boxer, and I’ve also cared for larger breeds including Great Danes and Weimaraners. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or somewhere in between, I take the time to learn their routine and make them feel comfortable and secure. When caring for your pets, I treat them like family. I understand that every animal has unique needs, and I’m committed to following feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and any special requests you may have. I also believe communication is important, so you can expect regular updates and photos while you’re away. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and receiving the same love and care they would get at home. I work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and have a one-hour lunch break during the day. During my lunch break, I can check in, provide potty breaks, feed pets if needed, and make sure they’re comfortable. Before and after work, your pets will receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I understand how important it is to know your pets are doing well while you’re away, so I provide regular updates and photos throughout each stay. I strive to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible and will always treat them with the same love and care I give my own cats, Twinkie and Binx. My schedule works especially well for cats, independent dogs, and pets who are comfortable being alone during a typical workday. For pets requiring constant supervision or more frequent potty breaks, we’ll discuss their needs beforehand to make sure I’m the right fit. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and household rules. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family members. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. With over 20 years of experience caring for pets for friends and family, as well as owning my own cats, Twinkie and Binx, I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether your pet loves playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I strive to create a safe and stress-free experience for them.
“Once again Amber did a wonderful job with Milo. He’s so much happier and less stressed then when we boarded him. Amber and he have developed a great bond and he really enjoys it when she watches him!!”

“Valerie was awesome. The day we were supposed to have our meet and greet I had to take Gidget to the vet because she was not eating. The vet wanted to keep her a few hours which pushed back out appointment time. Valerie was very understanding and flexible. Valerie was awesome with each of our dogs who have very different personalities. She was able to give Gidget the medication the vet has prescribed. Valerie contacted me to see if she could try something to help Gidget to eat. She went over and beyond to take care of our girls. Valerie contacted me daily to let me know how each of the girls were doing. Valerie was also very respectful of our home. I am very grateful for her!”

“Hands down, the best dogsitter we've ever had! Went above-and-beyond to care for our two dogs and our home while we were away. Provided wonderful timely updates every day, with cute pictures of our pets. We felt absolutely peace of mind with our pets in her care. We were also happily surprised to find that she had cleaned our kitchen and guest room, and left **printed photos** of our dogs from her stay with them hanging on the refrigerator door for us to find when we got home. I also feel I have to mention that, in addition to feeding, playing, walking, and caring for our two dogs, she also went WAY out if her way to resolve a home maintenance issue that came up during her stay; one she would have been well in her rights to ignore. I am *stunned* by the amazing quality of care my pets and my home recieved. From now on, if ever we need a sitter I will always call Jo first!”

“Gina is wonderful with all of our animals. We have 4 dogs of varying age and she can handle anything from a large puppy to an elderly blind dog. We also have a green cheek conure and 4 ducks and she was happy to learn how to care for them and listens to the instructions to a T. Can't wait to book her again- she's a great communicator.”

“Destiny was an excellent dog sitter. She was attentive, communicative, and made the entire experience stress-free. My dogs felt comfortable with her right away, which says a lot about her calm and caring nature. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable pet care.”

“Madison is an excellent pet sitter and we would highly recommend her to anyone. She took amazing care of our dogs and kept us updated regularly with how they were doing while we were out at a concert. This was our first time using Rover, and we’re very pleased with the service.”

“This was the first time we had left Honey, our 7 month old puppy! We were nervous of course but Hack made things really easy for us and Honey loved him. We got pictures and updates daily that really put our minds at ease. He even let us pick Honey up in the middle of the night…..so accommodating. Will definitely use him again! Thank you Hack for everything.”

About: Hi! I am a third year medical student, and I am doing my rotations in Fort Walton Beach. I am originally from Orlando, but I actually lived in Destin for a few years growing up. I love all animals and have been pet sitting since I was in high school! My schedule is mostly clear in the evenings and on the weekends! My schedule varies from month to month with my schedule at the hospital, so I try to keep my rover calendar updated! When I am not in the hospital, your pets will be my #1 priority! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Eglin Village
Elizabeth went above and beyond to look after my pet and house sit. She spoiled my dog with an abundance of walks and treats and cleaned my house before she left. She left it in better condition than when she got there. Even to the point of folding the toilet paper.

Sariah provided excellent care for my Charity 7 month Golden Retriever. We had a meet and greet prior to the house sitting with Charity. I was away for the entire day. Sariah sent pics and updates the entire day. She followed all my house rules . Playtime, walks, swimming , feeding. My Charity was smiling and enjoying her day with Sariah and her son. Excellent communication! I will book again. Highly recommend! Thank you !

FAQs for House Sitting - Eglin Village
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 475 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Eglin Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eglin Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eglin Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eglin Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eglin Village. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
