About: I’ve been known as a dog whisperer by family, dogs love me and I love dogs. I have raised 3 and owned 4 since the age of 12. I have grown a love for the animal and everything about them. Going on daily walks and making sure my pets always are paid attention too are my top priorities. Moving about to Maine I have found a love for cats the same I have for dogs. Cats were always misinterpreted in my family growing up. We never had one in the house and so I was hesitant in how I could live with 3 of them when moving out. That hesitation disappeared when I moved up here in 2024. I love cats as much as I do dogs now when I discovered they can be just as cuddly and playful, if not more, than dogs! Working part time my schedule is very flexible. Latest I’m available ranges each week. As long as I get some kind of message on what’s good for you I’m sure I can squeeze your pet in! I go off what the pet wants and how we can work around that so that I can provide my best care. Each dog is different so their dislikes and likes are something that needs to be expressed.

“Reanne is a delight and a completely reliable caregiver! We were so reassured knowing she was spending time with our cats while we were away for a week. We got photos at every visit and reports on their doings. 😊”

“Karen got along with our cats wonderfully. She coaxed the shy one out of hiding and immediately engaged the other. Couldn’t ask for a more gentle, caring, conscientious sitter.”

“Easy communication and very flexible. My dog loved spending time with them. Justin went above and beyond always updating us about Annie with pics and how to visits went. Definitely booking again next time.”

“Highly recommend!! Gem of a pet sitter! I sought out a Pet Sitter to help re potty train my dog and Tom has been wonderful with her. Not only is he always on time and always taking such good care of her, He has gone out of his way to give me feedback and advice that has been invaluable. It’s clear that he has a passion for pet care and I would trust him with any of my animals anytime!”

“Stesha did a superb job caring for our two cats. She deftly learned how to operate the Surefeed chip-activated feeders, and connected amiably with both cats. During one of the cats annual checkup today I told the vet what a wonderful job Stesha had done. She was unaware Rover was available here, and she said from our experience she would inform her clients about Rover.”

About: I grew up on a farm with horses, pigs, sheep, cows, a dog and a cat. I particpated at a young age taking care of them (feeding, brushing, removing manure). Throughout my life I have had personal pets as well as helped care for pets of family and friends. I currently work full-time remotely M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. I also have a 9 year old son. I am typically available weekday evenings after work and weekends. I have a runner that extends from the side entrance of my house to my detached garage with a partially fenced backyard. I live in a safe neighborhood and have great neighbors. Three of my neighbors on my street work for the police department.
“Amber was the first person I have ever used through Rover and I was impressed. She was very compliant to my requests and extremely helpful. She took good care of my cat in my absence, which wasn’t exactly easy considering how shy Cleo can be with strangers. But from Amber’s updates it was evident that she really tried to bond with her and gained her trust towards the end of the week. Highly recommend.”

“Kate is amazing! Our grandkids were visiting and we had all their towels and suits on the porch. It had started to rain and Kate picked everything up, folded everything and brought everything inside. She also brought two big packages in that were on the porch. PLUS took amazing care of our elderly dog!! A+ care!!”

“Lily provided excellent care for our cat Hobson. Our directions were followed completely and we enjoyed the daily photos. Hobson is in excellent condition after this booking. We are very grateful.”

“Kiara was amazing. Our dog (Millie) was extremely happy. She went on car rides, and even had doggie play dates. Kiara is very responsive and kept us updated the whole time. We will absolutely use Kiara again.”

“Jaz was an excellent caregiver. She was available at the last minute as I had to attend a funeral at the last minute. She sent pictures and the dogs connected with her easily. I would be glad to recommend her. Thanks Jazz.”

“We have an anxious, slow-to-warm-up-to-you dog, and Ellianna was great with him. She took the time and had the patience to win him over. Communication was prompt and her report was thorough. We have already booked her for another stay!”
“Amelia was great! She took care of my kitties as if they were hers. She's reliable and showed up exactly as we agreed. Have one cat who needs insulin injections and I was comfortable leaving that in her hands. Sent texts and pics throughout. Would definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. In 2023, I completed the Animal Behavior College Basic Dog Obedience Program along with additional certificate courses in Training Shelter Dogs, Doggie Daycare, and Teaching Private Lessons. I’m also Pet CPR certified. Beyond my education, I’ve worked professionally with dogs in a daycare environment where I gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and personalities. I understand canine body language, recognize signs of stress or overstimulation, and always prioritize safety and positive experiences. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, young, or a senior, I take the time to get to know their individual needs. I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I’d want for my own pet. Caring for animals is already a big part of my life. I currently work professionally with dogs and genuinely enjoy spending my time with them. I’m available for dog walking on Fridays and weekends, and I make it a priority to give each dog my full attention during our time together. I understand that consistency is important, so I strive to be dependable, communicate with owners, and provide updates after each walk so you know your pup is happy and well cared for. Safety is always my top priority, whether I’m caring for my own pets or yours. I treat every dog as if they were a member of my own family, taking the time to get to know their personality, comfort level, and individual needs. Before every walk, I’ll make sure collars, harnesses, and leashes are properly fitted and secure. I stay aware of our surroundings, avoid potentially unsafe situations whenever possible, and always keep dogs safely leashed. I also pay close attention to each dog’s body language and behavior so I can recognize signs of stress, fear, fatigue, or overstimulation and adjust our walk accordingly. I’ll always follow your care instructions, including preferred walking routes, treats, medications (if applicable), and any training cues you’d like reinforced. After each visit, I’ll provide an update with photos so you can feel confident knowing your dog was safe, happy, and well cared for. My goal is to provide every dog with a fun, enriching, and safe experience while giving you peace of mind that they’re being cared for with patience, kindness, and professionalism.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life! I’ve had cats for as long as I can remember, as well as several dogs, so I’m no stranger to the responsibility of keeping animals. I currently work for a theatre company, but I'm usually available most weekdays. In the evening, I'm available before 5pm and after 9pm, but that changes from time to time. Everyone's pet care is different and I know a lot of animals benefit from having a familiar routine. So if you have a certain way of doing things, I'll do my best to keep that consistent for your pet!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Eddington
Glen was a perfect sitter for our cat, Sam. Glen was reliable, communicative, kind, and trustworthy. He dropped in on Sam every day, and kept him entertained and loved with different toys/activities each time. We came home to a tidy house, a clean litter box, and a happy Sam. We will definitely rebook Glen next time we need a sitter!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
