About: I grew up on a farm with horses, pigs, sheep, cows, a dog and a cat. I particpated at a young age taking care of them (feeding, brushing, removing manure). Throughout my life I have had personal pets as well as helped care for pets of family and friends. I currently work full-time remotely M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. I also have a 9 year old son. I am typically available weekday evenings after work and weekends. I have a runner that extends from the side entrance of my house to my detached garage with a partially fenced backyard. I live in a safe neighborhood and have great neighbors. Three of my neighbors on my street work for the police department.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I aim to give your animals the attention they need 24/7. I aim to give your pet my full attention on making them the happiest and most loved while you’re away! My dog inspired me to start this journey because she was my best friend and she sadly passed away of old age, I would love to be your trusted care taker and keep your pets the safest with me. About: I worked for a boarding facility throughout high school and college. As an adult I volunteered with local shelters and fostered cats. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, I rushed down to start rescuing animals which I did for 2 months. It was a life changing event which led me to enroll in a veterinary technician program. I graduated with a degree in Colorado and continued working in the field of animal rescue. During my program I worked for a local shelter, doggy daycare and volunteered with the local Street Cat Coalition performing TNR. After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, I went down to rescue animals and ended up working for Austin Pets Alive as a veterinary technician caring for over 300 cats and dogs. Since that time I have been fostering hospice cats. My last foster was a 20 year old with end stage kidney disease. I was able to care for her for 11 months. I have also fostered cancer and diabetic kitties and have 20 years experience working with Alaskan huskies. Although I am not working in the veterinary field, I have maintained my license with continuing education. Since relocating to Maine this summer I have decided to get my animal fix by joining Rover. I look forward to caring for your pets as if they were mine. I currently work full time with some flexibility to be able to work from home. I have weekends off which allows me to care for pets on the weekends as well. I have a fenced in backyard/deck area and access to open space and trails within walking distance of my home. I love to walk and it's always better with a dog or two! I take great care of others homes and will follow whatever instructions they have for their pets.
About: I've always had dogs or cats as pets. I currently have 2 dogs now. Dashy is 16 year old Dashhound who was severely neglected and abandoned at 13 and Beau now 8 is a Rat Terrier mix adopted as a puppy. Both boys are very friendly, happy, healthy and quite spoiled. I also have my Pet CPR & First Aid cert from Red Cross as well as some behavioral training. I work best senior, handicapped and terminally ill pets though the fee may change depending of medical need. I'm retired and I have full daily availability from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and some night time availability as well as overnights. Overnight rates are based on 1, 12 block of time. I have a fenced/blocked back yard, another fur baby and plenty of room for them to play. Grass, gazebo and lawn Charis for them! The inside is spacious, has AC and safe for dogs and dog friendly cats.

Glendon is obviously a figment of my imagination. I never leave my 17-year-old Teddy behind because he is my little world. It would take an exceptional person to meet my criteria, one whom I imagine to be caring and kind, one who would treat my dog like their own, who would be patient and have a sense of humor about the foibles of an old, spoiled dog. I’ve always imagined that person would be the only kind who could convince me to leave Teddy behind. A family medical emergency arose last week and I was needed to go help care for my grandchildren on a trip to Houston. Panic set in. What about Teddy?? I was desperate so I checked out two pet sitter sites. Rover and another. The other never followed up on my request. Rover brought me Glendon, the top sitter on the list. At the end of the lengthy meet and greet, I was actually anxious to have this guy take care of Teddy! And he turned out to be even better than I imagined. When we got bumped from our flight home, he turned around in a snowstorm and returned to my house for an extra night so Teddy wouldn’t be alone and I wouldn’t have cause to worry. sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
