About: I’ve had pets my entire life, especially dogs. My first pup was an Irish Setter when I was just four, and over the years my family rescued many dogs — including plenty of Basset Hounds — so I’m comfortable with all kinds of breeds and personalities. I’m now a cat owner as well — it’s a new experience, but one I’ve grown to love. At the moment, I’m available nearly every day, including weekends, thanks to a flexible work schedule. I’m happy to work around your needs and adjust as things come up. My kids are fully grown, so I have some more time on my hands! I’m completely comfortable crating dogs when needed, and I’m confident handling daily walks, potty breaks, and general exercise routines to make sure every pup feels safe, happy, and well‑cared for.
“Jared is so good with our black lab Grady. We can always count on him to be attentive to Grady’s needs and he shows such genuine care for Grady. Truly gives us such a peace of mind when we know Jared is caring for our Grady. Highly recommend Jared!”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was 3 years old, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I have hands on experience with large breeds and am confident handling bigger dogs with different energy levels. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand the importance of patience, comfort as they age. I put a lot of love and care into every pet I watch. I know how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, so I treat every dog as if they were my own. Making sure they feel safe, loved, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work full time but have a flexible schedule where I work from home somedays. My partner also works 5 minutes from our house and is able to help with potty breaks during the day. We spend a lot of time in our yard or walking the canal on nice days and would love a wagging tail to join us. We have a fenced in yard and live in a quiet neighborhood to go on walks. We love to go to the canal and spend time outside. We have a fully finished basement with mini splits and air circulation system, perfect for any size dog to enjoy!

“Gabrielle is kind, reliable, communicative and clearly has a natural way with dogs. My dog felt comfortable with her right away, which says something because he can be wary of new people. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. Gabrielle went above and beyond and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker. At the end, my dog wanted to stay with her…the ultimate endorsement!”

“Quinn did a phenomal job taking care of my two pups they absolute loved her !! Trust worthy and I would definitely hire Quinn and highly recommend her as for any needs you may need for your pet! Thanks Quinn Best , Linda”

About: Had a 5 month old pup at aged 9 (also had a dominant cat) taught her basics and more over time until she needed medication due to her old age. Looked after friends senior dog which needed meds with food and their other dog that had special dietary needs including medication 3 times a day. House and dog&cat sat for friends that would go away to France for a long weekends I have plenty of time to give care and attention. I am not working at the moment and in between job maybe this is my calling we have a lot of space in the home and in the yard. We do not have any of our own pets yet, but we are talking a lot about them. We have a large 4ft fenced in grass yard and a large basement to allow for off leash freedom to play regardless of weather. Over the back fence we have active cranberry bogs with loads of open space and smells perfect for long walks. I am a fast walker and happy to cover 3-5 miles on a walk. Any fur-babies that need to stay overnight will be looked after like they are my own. I’ll send lots of pictures and make sure your pet is comfortable with as much attention as it needs.
About: My life has included dogs for as long I can remember and I have always seemed to read them intuitively, including “problem dogs” that others have difficulty interacting with. I have extensive personal dog handling and grooming experience over the past 25 years and have owned up to 6 dogs at a time. I currently have a 10 year old Chihuahua-mix named Kitty but I have experience training and caring for Border Collies, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Wire Fox Terriers, Poodle mixes, Great Danes, and a Wolf-German Shepherd hybrid. I am knowledgeable about canine body language and how to remain calm around anxious/fearful/aggressive dogs as well as how to redirect dogs from potential conflicts. I own and operate an event-services business which runs primarily on the weekends, allowing me to offer dog care Monday through Friday and on certain weekends as available. I am able to care for dogs according to their owner’s needs and requests. This may include administering medication, changing diapers, feeding, walking or just spending time with.
“Amanda always arrives to take my pup out on time and fully prepared. She will give all her effort to ensure my dog gets love and play time even when she’s stubborn. She is an excellent communicator and always takes a lot of pictures. Would highly recommend.”

“Alison has been such a blessing with my return to work! She has come to walk my dog Elliot when I’m in office. She always comes within the time window, sends photos, and tracks their walks. She was kind enough to do a meet & greet beforehand, where I could tell she loves dogs! Elliot loves her, and I know her visits help him get through the day. I am confident that Alison provides excellent care, whether that’s in your home or her home.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for the last 15 years, and cats for the last 4. Friends and family alike have trusted me to feed, walk and entertain their pets. I would love to be able to do the same for you! I am an educator, therefore I am typically available after 4 pm and on weekends. I am currently a full time educator, therefore I am free on nights and weekends to take care of your cat, your dog or your house! I have experience taking care of pets in their homes and will be ready to show your cat or dog all the love they need!
About: I know how hard it is to walk out your door with those big eyes staring at you, and how it's even harder when you have to leave them for days. I am flattered you are considering trusting me with your sweet pup while you are away, it means a lot! I have had dogs ever since I was a kid and know these feelings all too well, so let me help out a little and give you some peace of mind that your pup will be well taken care of and exercised. I love taking care of anything that barks, meows, squawks, slithers any anything in between. As my own pets I have had dogs, a rabbit, chickens and a chameleon. I started off by fostering for a local adoption program and moved on to pet care in my own home and others. I have taken care of 12 week old puppies up to older pups needing special geriatric care. My dogs are family members in my house and I will treat yours no differently. I will be sure to get details from you if there are any behaviors you are working on with your pet to ensure I don't interfere and hopefully enhance any training you are working on with your pet. I truly take pleasure helping pet owner who care enough to seek out good care for their pets. *For the comfort of my older dog Roscoe and some of our more timid guests, I generally stick to dogs under 30 pounds unless they are older or particularly calm. He had a bad experience with a German Shepherd off leash on an walk and is a little nervous around bigger dogs now. I am home all day and I'm not glued to my computer but I do have an occasional virtual meeting that requires my attention. If your pup has accidents or gets into other trouble when unsupervised please let me know ahead of time so I can make sure they are in a comfortable safe space or supervised if I have a meeting. Your pup will never be alone for it any extended period of time, and between me and my husband it's likely they will ever be alone at all. We have lots of baby gates and room for them to have their own space if they need a break from my dogs. I have an older chihuahua mix and a young Aussiedoodle, both socialized and respectful of other pups (the doodle is a bit excited when meeting new people and fur friends, but she adjusts quickly.) They will be excited to meet new friends but if your pup prefers to be left alone, they will not bother them after the initial excitement wears off. We have a fully fenced secure yard not exposed to the front or foot traffic at all. We are very careful to follow all order from owners especially when it comes to behavior and diet to ensure that your pup is safe and comfortable while they are staying with us. We are so excited to meet you and your fur friend! I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule with a few meetings scheduled here in there. With two of my own we are on a pretty regular walking schedule and they definitely keep me informed of when dinner time is getting close when the weather warms up we definitely spend a lot of time outside in the fenced in yard but they are never left unsupervised outside. We have a fully fenced in yard and a nice covered deck, where they can enjoy some shade in the summer. We also have plenty of baby gates to give any pup that would like a little extra space some space to relax. Our little girl is happy to play with anybody that will play with her, but is also very used to her big brother who will certainly let her know when he’s not feeling playful.
About: I have only watched dogs a couple of times. I had a dog growing up, but mainly cats. I am definitely more of a cat lover, but I’m trying to give dogs a chance! I have a retail job that has a sporadic schedule. I am just looking for a side gig for every now and then. To get exercise and be outside in the summer is a bonus :) I have a fenced yard and a furry friend to have fun with! I have a big open space and lots of comfy places to sleep. I have a dog and cat friendly home!
About: I have taken care of dogs, cats and reptiles my whole life. I am a reliable, English teacher who loves long walks after school with my dog! In the summer, I have a lot of time available. Teaching has always been my passion and it definitely helps me become a patient caretaker to my dog and the lovable pets I watch! I currently have summers off due to my teaching schedule. During the school year I am available anytime after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends. I can easily crate your pet if needed- we also have a fenced in yard that easily holds both of our medium sized dogs. 🐾
About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life. I have 3 boxers, and if you know boxers, that is quite the experience! I love dogs and they bring so much joy to everyone’s lives, so I’m happy to help out a doggy family when I can! I am 27 years old and a first grade teacher. I am free after 6 o’clock on weekdays as I tutor after school but weekends I am typically available for the entire day. I would love to help you with and drop in visits or walking, even during the cold months! I love going on walks, pet cuddles, and more. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
