“Sophia is absolutely amazing! Great communication and sent all the pictures of the fur kids when I was away. My little pack absolutely loved her and my cat has always ran from strangers but my cat hasn’t left her side. Will book again and already hoping to book her again for my next upcoming trip.”

“An amazing sitter who not only took wonderful care of our pups, but also left our home better than we left it! Anna Lee is a true dog whisperer - able to entertain our Golden and wrangle our "talkative" Malamute. We are very much looking forward to her next stay!”

“Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of our Alaskan Malamute and cat. She took the dog on walks daily, gave him a tone of attention, and I didn’t have to worry for a second while we were gone on vacation. Came back home to a clean house with laundry done. We will definitely be reaching out again when we are out of town.”

“Monique took such good care of my dogs, cat, house, and vegetable gardens while I was away. She communicated with me every day about how everyone was doing and sent pictures. Everyone was happy and healthy when I returned, including my vegetable gardens, even though it was 95+ degrees every day. I highly recommend Monique if you're looking for someone to take wonderful care of your pets and house.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and other animals. They have always been apart of my life. I had 10 dogs at once for about 4 years. I am very patient and understanding. Good with any puke, poop and pee, it doesn’t bother me. Love dogs and will do any special things that need done. I am currently an Eastern Student and have class from 9-12 and work part time at safeway from about 1-7 as of right now. I am planning on doing online class starting in January and planning on working like 8am-2pm at Safeway starting in December. So I will be more flexible in the coming months. Can do early morning and late nights if needed I will keep things clean and tidy while in others home. Will take dog on leash if not fenced in. Will make sure dog has food and water if they aren’t schedule fed.
“Carla was great! She was patient with our dog who can be leery of strangers and we came home to a perfectly clean home after a long travel day! Will definitely book with her again.”

About: I’ve grown up with many cats and dogs as well as volunteering at animal shelters, I have a true passion for taking care of animals and giving them the love and attention they deserve! I have become the main person to pet sit for friends and family since I was a teen so I have many year of experience caring for and loving all animals! Let me care for your animals as if they are my own! I’m currently working 3-12s so that gives my plenty of time to care for your pups and kitties, my schedule rotates but I typically have 4-7 days off in between my shifts. Let me know your needs and we can plan from there!:) I have been house sitting since I was a teen and not only is my biggest priority caring for your fur babies but also leaving a home better than when I arrived. Your animals will be loved and taken care of by someone who would love your animals like they’re my own.
About: I have been involved taking care of pets for as long as I can remember!! I have been involved working with my neighbors friends family and even strangers!! I have worked with rambunctious puppies all the way to old grumpy doggies. I have worked with the sweetest of pups to some aggressive not kind ones. I love getting to help take out and take care of pets especially during the long days and nights when they need some extra love!! I am currently in school and coaching part time but still have a good chunk of time on my hands that I’m looking to fill with some loving doggies!! I love getting to take dogs out and walk them or even just play with them in the yard. I will respect the wishes of the owners when it comes to the safety of their dogs. I am comfortable using a crate if that’s what’s needed and can make accommodations to owners preference.
“Jocelyn was a great sitter for our three pets, two kittens and a senior teacup dog. She took our garbage cans out and back multiple times and even watered our plants. We’ll definitely be using Jocelyn again!”

“It can be hard to find a sitter that enjoys big dogs. Our big, goofy dogs love Clara! We appreciate that she let us know how they were doing and help them stay happy and on their routine (as it helps the smaller of our two dogs keep her anxiety down while we’re away). We will definitely call on her again.”

“Honestly Nick and Nazzy the best sitters we have had on Rover—would recommend super highly to anyone who wants to leave their pet pals in good hands! We have an anxious dog and an asthmatic cat, so not the easiest pets, but Nick and Nazzy always take such good care of them. They send tons of pics and videos and kept us up to date on all the happenings! Super kind and considerate folks who go above and beyond in their care of the pets and the home!!”

About: I have been a dog house sitter for some family friends for over the course of a year. I connect instantly with dogs, they feel they can trust me. I have no professional training experience but am very patient with the dogs when necessary. I am currently in between jobs so am very flexible at the moment. Looking to get part or full time work soon. Prefer mornings and afternoons. Keep them mostly inside, as I do not have a fenced yard. Take them on daily walks. House is roomy to play around. Not looking for boarding.
“Tierra provided excellent care for our 14 month old mini dachshund who is a velcro pup! I will definitely want to book Tierra again in the future and highly recommend her.”

“Suzy was an exceptional kitten sitter. During her week-long stay at our home, she maintained everything and left our home just as she found it. I loved receiving the daily updates and photos of Lila while we were away. Upon returning, we found a happy and healthy kitten, thanks to Suzy's attentive care. Without a doubt, she will be our go-to sitter in the future! 😺”

“Kept us up to date with the dogs and kept the house clean. Receptive to the dogs and our needs for the sitting. Ensured our minds were at ease through the stay.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dynamite walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dynamite maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dynamite choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dynamite. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
