About: I've taken care of cats, dogs, and exotics for many years. Well versed in pet care for any breed and kind of animal. Big fan and friend of all pets alike. I am a part time cosmetologist! I spend 6 hours of my day at the salon and come home to spend the rest of my time with your pets. I have a very friendly but shy chihuahua who would be separated from your furry friend in my home. I can uphold any rules you may follow in your own home for your pets as need be.
“Ruth was amazing with our dog and cat. She was prompt and very communicative throughout the visit. Our dog required eye drops and medicine and she was able to administer them with no issues. She also cleaned up after the pets and ensured our sheets were clean and ready for us when we came back home on a late flight. Lastly, she even coaxed our very shy cat out from hiding! We appreciate her professionalism and taking such great care of our pets!”

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 15. She’s now 11 years old and a healthy pup. I was a certified vet assistant a few years back but could not handle the emotional pain of watching dogs pass in the medical field. I still love dogs and cats and enjoy caring for them. I work full time overnight so I am able to spend daytime with your pet! Tuesday and Wednesday are my usual days off. I can typically spend 6-8 hours with your pet before I leave for work at 9:30pm. My pets are kept indoors and on our screened patio. They keep a strict routine and enjoy sunbathing on the patio. It’s a relatively new home so the screening is strong and has never been broken. We have two litter robots and my home is always in clean condition.
“There are not words that can express how amazing Sherry is! My husband and I were expecting our first baby and scheduled Sherry for a few days for our scheduled induction. We ended up going into labor unexpectedly. Sherry was so kind and flexible, she came immediately to take care of our fur babies. We had unexpected reason to have to stay in the hospital two days longer and Sherry adjusted her schedule to stay and take care of our home. She was so intensive to our two dogs and cat. One of our dogs wasn’t feeling good and Sherry made her pumpkin dinner and took care of not only her but the mess she made in the house. So to say… Sherry is an spectacular and will be the only sitter we use for all future things. Thank you Sherry for making a special moment in our life a little less stressful and chaotic!”

About: Over the past four years, I’ve cared for dozens of dogs and cats for friends and family—walking, feeding, playing, and giving them love while their people were away. What started as doing favors turned into something I genuinely enjoy and feel confident doing, so I thought… why not finally offer it professionally? While I’ve never had a pet of my own (yet!), I treat every animal I care for like they’re family. I take time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities to make sure they feel safe and happy while you’re gone. I’m attentive, gentle, and great at reading an animal’s vibe—whether they want playtime, cuddles, or just someone calm nearby. I’d love to meet your furry companion and be someone you can count on. Let’s chat about how I can help! I currently work part-time most of my work days are during the weekend so throughout the week I am home all day pretty much every day! I am to make sure I learn the routines of each of my clients and ensure that the pets feel like they are at home!

About: Hi! I’m Madison, and I’ve always had a love for animals. I’ve cared for pets of all kinds, including dogs, cats, fish, frogs, and other small pets, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I know how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets, so I make it my goal to give them the same love, attention, and care that I would give my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! 🐾💕 One of the best parts about pet sitting is that I have plenty of time to spend with your pets! My schedule is very flexible, so I’m available most days, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Whether you’re planning a trip, need a last-minute sitter, or just want someone to check in on your pet, I’d be happy to help. I love spending time with animals and look forward to giving your pets lots of love, attention, and care!💓🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, love, and supervision while in my care. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“Francesca is exactly the person that you want to care for your furry family members! Stop looking at profiles, you’ve found the person that loves, understands, and respects animals and humans. Not only did Francesca care for my sons very large dogs, but when we had an unexpected change in our travel plans she took on a fourth puppy to watch with them from my husband and I. After a meet and greet we had no worries at all. She sent pictures very often, and we could tell she was genuinely enjoying our dogs. One of the dogs that can be standoffish with strangers became her buddy early on in the trip. It’s like a special power. She’s meant to do this job. And my only concern about telling everyone how fantastic she is, is that we will have competition for her time when we go to book her again! She even washed doggie linens! Seriously, she’s wonderful. Thank you Francesca 💕”

“Cathy did a great job of watching Ollie for me while I was away at work. She made sure to keep me updated throughout the day with pictures. She also made sure to give him lots of walks and lots of cuddles and kept him happy. She is quick to respond as well which is awesome. I would definitely recommend her for your pup :)”

“We were so happy with the care that Runy provided for Sadie. Sadie was well cared for with her regular feeding and walks. We received regular updates and pictures of Sadie and you can tell she had a good time!! She also cared for our home in a professional manner and also received some time-sensitive packages for us. Highly recommend!”

About: Hello! My family has had pets (cats and dogs) my entire life. I currently have two cats of my own- Nova and Arrow. I am very responsible and know how important pets are in one's life- they are family too! I enjoy running and would love to take your dog on a run with me! I can also play fetch for hours. I have experience dog-sitting for many of my friends when they are out of town, as I am almost always here during the holidays (my family lives out of state). I'm unable to have a dog of my own right now, so I would love to spend some time with yours! Whatever special needs your pet requires, just let me know I will happily oblige! I can be available on short notice and am around most weekends and holidays! I'm also hoping to meet new people through this that share a similar passion for animals :)
“She truly puts so much effort into making sure your dog is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I will definitely be using her services going forward and highly recommend her!”

About: Hi! We’re a sibling team who loves caring for pets and treating them like family. This account is now shared between us, but my sister Kathy will be the primary caregiver and will be handling most of the communication, bookings, and day-to-day services. We both have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. From long walks and playtime to feeding routines and giving lots of attention, we understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. We’re comfortable following specific instructions to make sure your pet stays happy, safe, and on their normal routine while you’re away. My sister, who you’ll be mainly interacting with, is reliable, patient, and genuinely loves animals. She has hands-on experience with pet sitting, walking, and making sure pets feel comfortable in new situations. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, calm companionship, or just someone to stick to their routine, she’s got it covered. We know how important trust is when it comes to your pets, so we’re committed to clear communication, updates, and giving you peace of mind. I am a full time nursing student at the moment. I have quite a busy schedule but I am always free to give my time for dogs and cats because they bring me so much joy. I am mostly free on weekends but I do offer a full Thursday as well. For Monday’s, I have Zoom meetings every week from 4:30pm-6:45pm so if that’s something I can work on while being with your pets, it works out! I can offer to take your pets for walks, or simply play with them in the yard, or just lay around and cuddle with them if they are the more relaxed kinds. I am not offering boarding at the moment, so any services I am offering, it will be held at your place set by your rules!

About: I’ve taken care of my dog of 6 years since we got him as a puppy. I trained him to potty, do tricks, and play. I walk him 2-3 times a day and take him to the dog park, dog beach, and other dog social settings. I’ve also taken care of other dogs for multiple days. I work part-time during the weekends so my availability is during the weekdays! I am also a full time college student studying Biomedical Sciences but I’m fully online during the summer. I’m very playful with pets but I always make sure to put their safety first. I also always follow special instructions for each unique pet!
About: I’ve taken care of and had dogs my whole life. I’m the first person my friends and family go to when they need dog care. I’ve been a sitter for many people for many years. Animals have been my passion for many years. I work in the evenings so I have the free time to look after your precious pups. I am willing to travel as far as you need to make sure you have no worries while you’re gone. I live on 5 acres of fenced in yard to have plenty of space for your fur babies. I also have two sweet pups if your puppy wants friends. I have the ability to crate your babies if you prefer that aswell.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,473 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Duette. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Duette walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Duette maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Duette choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Duette. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
