“We were very happy with Mike and Amy, they took great care of our girl Luna. Luna got along well with their dog Bear, and had a great time with him. Luna felt right at home there. Mike sent plenty of updates with pictures which was nice.”

“I truly cannot say enough good things about Gillian! My dog, Benson, has serious separation anxiety along with specific dietary and medical needs, and it has been such a relief to finally find someone I completely trust to care for him. I never thought I’d see the day where he’d happily run into a sitter’s home—until we found her! From day one, Gillian has gone above and beyond to make sure he’s comfortable, safe, and genuinely happy. She understands all of Benson’s quirks and needs, and treats him with the same patience and love that I do. It’s so clear how much she cares about every dog she looks after and truly treats them as her own. She’s also great about sending daily updates with photos and thoughtful notes, which give me so much peace of mind while I’m away. I always know he’s in the very best hands with her!”

“Samantha and her partner were absolutely amazing. They are the best sitters I have met by far. I 10000/10 recommend. Samantha updated me throughout my dog's stay. I will definitely rebook.”

“Natthinee was fantastic and I highly recommend her! My dog has a seizure disorder and she did an excellent job of administering her medication and keeping me informed throughout the day of their activities with photos. Unfortunately Lulu had a seizure while she was there and Natthinee needed to care for her. She contacted me immediately to let me know and to get instructions as to how to navigate the situation. She allowed Lulu to sleep in her room since that is what she is used to. I highly recommend her and will be booking with her again.”

“I’m very satisfied with Kathleen's service. She cared for my puppy excellently. This was my first experience, and I am glad my Simba found a caring home while I’m away. I travel for work and feel confident I can rely on her in the future. Thank you! Roya Ross”

“Tiffany was wonderful! She fit us in last minute with no problem! She sent a ton of pictures and videos letting us know how our Ruby was doing! She was great! Absolutely recommend and will use her again!”

“Brad & Mery had great communication, responded to all my questions, and sent regular updates. The home was calm & caring for my senior dog. They were understanding of her medical & potty needs. She was happy and relaxed when I picked her up.”

“We don’t let anyone else watch our French bulldog. David takes her for plenty of walks, gives her lots of attention, and makes sure she gets her medication. She’s very happy with David, as are we!”

“We are so glad we found Brigid. Our dog, Roscoe, was comfortable with her right away when we had our meet-and-greet. Brigid asked good questions and took notes. She and her house are well-suited for a little dog visitor. She has a nice, fenced-in yard. Her couch is a cozy spot for napping, snuggling and looking out the window. Brigid stayed in touch with us leading up to our trip and while we were away. It was so fun for us to hear and see pictures of how Brigid and Roscoe were spending their time. I felt that they had developed a special bond and I can't wait to book Brigid again. I think Roscoe feels the same way.”

“First time using this service and couldn’t be happier. Jack was very professional and with him dog sitting we didn’t need to worry as both my dogs were in great hands. Will definitely uses Jack services again. I highly recommend Jack.”

“We couldn’t have been happier with our first experience leaving our dog with Kyle. Her love of dogs is obvious. She took such good care of him and kept in regular contact with us with pictures and videos. He came home happy and unstressed. Actually, I’m not sure he wanted to come home 😆. We definitely recommend her!”

“Kimberly was so kind to take Toby my 19-lb Havenese dog very last minute! I have a bad wrist fracture and was not able to take care of him properly. She took such great care of him with only hours’ notice. I will definitely use her services again!”

“Maegan was flexible with our appointment. We had an important meeting on Monday and she canceled Monday. Abby had a good time. She came home and was calmer than she has ever been.”

“This was our first time ever leaving our two year old boxer overnight and we were super nervous. Anna is super kind, calm, and we felt very confident leaving our dog after meeting her. We got updates and photos despite it being a major holiday (thanksgiving) and it meant a lot that she took the time to give us peace of mind with updates. Picked up the dog happy and we will definitely be repeat clients!”

“Jude was wonderful! Very caring and loving! Great backyard for our chocolate to run in! She sent updates and pics and videos daily which was great! I would give her 10 stars!”

“Sunny always has a great time with Christopher and his wife. They treat him so well and they are both so accommodating if we need to change the time for drop-off/pickup. We couldn’t be more appreciative of them!”

“Larry took excellent care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. He was extremely professional and made sure to ask questions to ensure our dog was as comfortable as possible. Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Duanesburg home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Duanesburg.

You and your Duanesburg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
