I recently hired Jake as my dog walker, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! He truly went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did he take excellent care of my dog, but he also picked up my mail and even cleaned up my house, which was a delightful surprise. Communication was top-notch; Jake kept me well informed throughout the entire process and sent me tons of pictures, which made me feel connected and reassured while I was away. His attentiveness and dedication to my dog's well-being were evident, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog walker!

This is the first time we are bringing a pet sitter home. Hajida did a phenomenal job taking care of Coco. Coco is 17.5 years old and recently lost her sight. Hajida made her feel very comfortable and bonded amazingly with her.

We hired Wade to sit our mini poodle during my wedding all day at our house. He was very punctual, friendly, respectful of our place, and took really good care of our dog with the instructions we had left him. Highly recommend his services and will definitely book Wade again in the future if needed.

Yana took the time to visit with our family before staying at our home with Charlie. He had instantly taken to her gentle manner which made us feel so comfortable. She exercised patience with his sometimes stubborn but lovable manner. We loved her daily texts with pictures outlining how the day went. I feel at ease knowing she is caring for our Charlie.

Diana was exceptional taking care of our 3 dogs over a 2-week period. She was detail oriented, responsive and highly responsible. Our oldest dog has medical problems and a complicated medication schedule. She handled without issue. During her stay she dealt with an electricity outage and was able to maintain poise and help tackle the problem with the service providers. Most importantly, Diana was loving with all our dogs and seemed to genuinely bond with them. They all appeared happy and well cared for in the videos and when we returned home. Diana gave us peace of mind! We would definitely engage her again when we go away.

At the risk of writing such a glowing review that Jennifer becomes so popular that she's no longer available to watch our boys, I have to say having her pet sit was an across the board excellent experience. Our prior sitter bailed on us last minute and Jennifer came through with professionalism on very short notice. She came very prepared and took notes on how we like to have things done. The photos she sent every few days of our trip made us very comfortable with the level of care our boys were receiving and made it clear how much they enjoyed her company. I think it's safe to say they are still missing her! I highly recommend hiring Jennifer, and look forward to doing so again soon!

“Uncle Marc” is Hazel and Penny’s new favorite friend! Marc stayed with our girls while we spent the week out of the country. I was worried about leaving them for so long but Marc took great care of them and frequently updated me, sent pictures, and put my mind at ease. They’re already planning for his next visit 😉. Thanks Marc, we appreciate you!

Amazing!!! Absolutely amazing! Thomas took very good care of our Golden Retriever (Broddie) and Shih Tzu (Destiny). This was our first time using Rover for dog sitting, nervous and was very impressed with Thomas willingness to bond with our furry ones and ensure that he had everything needed to take care of both dogs. Provides daily overviews of the activities, and things done throughout the day (photos included). Not only did he take care of our dogs but was willing to take care of our Ferret and Goldfish and still did an amazing job! Very clean and organized with day planning and capable of working with a provided schedule. Will totally recommend Thomas to anyone!

Sarah took very good care of our little girl while we were gone for 10 days. She stayed with her, sent pictures and updates, and even helped with a few things around the house like watering plants. When we returned home the house was as clean if not cleaner than when we left it! She even went above and beyond waiting for a grocery delivery when our flight was delayed. Our fur baby appeared happy and well taken care of while we were gone. She went on walks, played, and had lots of snuggles. We were so grateful she got to stay in her home and we are so glad we chose Sarah as our sitter.

We had such a great experience! Rosie watched our dog for four days and was wonderful with her. She was very responsible and communicated with us throughout the day, sending photos and videos that gave us peace of mind. She made sure our dog was fed, walked, played with, and even gave her medication as needed. It was clear that she genuinely cared about her and made sure she was comfortable and well taken care of. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in good hands and would absolutely recommend her and book her again!

About: Im 30 years old, the youngest of three boys. I am a former athlete and current student at RVCC studying dietetics. Growing up we had two golden retrievers( both females so my mom wasn’t alone in that regard). With our first dog Shannon me and my brothers all shared the responsibility of taking care of. After Shannon had passed we felt that there was a void in the family that needed to be filled. That’s when kiely our second golden joined the family. Now at this time both my brothers were out of the house. The responsibilities of taking care of kiely fell upon me and I was more than happy to uphold them. I know of many parks and trails around this area that are perfect for dogs as well. I am currently working for my mother as an assistant of sorts in her dietetics practice. The hours are flexible so I'll be there for whatever you or your furry friend need. I am easygoing and adaptable. Whatever specifications you layout and accommodations you require, I will oblige. Dogs are a part of the family as thus should be treated so. Whether old or young, sick or healthy, just as you would, I will passionately care for your dog.

About: I've been a pet mom to cats and a small senior dog (a Shih Tzu) for several years. I've also been a cat sitter to my friends and family. I have experience in giving medications, cleaning litter boxes, play time, brushing, dog walking, bathing, etc. Rover is my primary source of income so my schedule is completely customizable for clients. While house sitting, I may leave the house up to 4 hours to run errands. I request to do a complimentary meet and greet before committing booking. Please know I may decline an offer if I feel I am not the best fit for your pet. I will follow whatever rules you give me and respect your home environment. The more detailed instructions you give me, the better so I can make your pet as comfortable as possible. I will provide a picture and an update every day. If there is any issue that arises, I will get in contact with you right away. My number one priority is to provide you with the peace of mind that your pet is receiving excellent care and attention.

I was so fortunate to have found Calli when I needed someone to be gentle and affectionate toward my senior dog and approachable for my younger dog. She tended to Foxy with so much care because of her recent injury and Singha warmed up to her too which surprised me. I will certainly have Cali be their caregiver again. I recommend Calli as a five star sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Dreahook

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 3,058 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dreahook. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dreahook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dreahook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dreahook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dreahook. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
