“Joanne was great with Bruno. We got plenty of pictures, which made us feel at ease during our trip. We will be booking her again! Smooth meet and greet process as well as drop off/pixkuo.”

“Chandar was absolutely fantastic. This was our first experience leaving our dog, and Chandar did everything we asked plus more. He gave us updates twice a day and photos of our dog throughout the day. From the photos and the feedback from Chandar, you know that your dog feels at home, calm and cared for. Our dog ate, slept well and got walked twice a day. Chandar went above and beyond in every element possible. Thanks Chandar we look forward to traveling again in the future with a stay again with you.”

“Thank you Whitney & Michael! And to your sweet girls! Not only do you take very good care of Baily when we're away, but you treat him like he's part of your family, which makes all the difference!”

“Angela is amazing! Our 2nd booking and couldn’t be happier! She takes great care of our boys & treats them like her own. We are so glad we found her and will definitely book again!”

“Another successful stay for Melvin. He came home very tired. Always satisfied with the care he receives. We totally enjoy the pictures and videos Jason sends. We know Melvin is in good hands.”

“Steven is very passionate and caring with pets and we really liked their place and very well fenced and good backyard play area for dogs. He is very proactive in sharing pictures and updates about our dog during his stay. I will 100% recommend Steven for boarding your pets with him. Really hats off for your dedication Steven. We can now happily plan for our future vacations, leaving our dog in your safe hands 😊”

“Jaime was wonderful with our shy little girl. She took great care to help her feel secure during her first stay away from home and kept us well informed. We have booked a longer stay with her.”

“Subangi was EXCEPTIONAL with our little Simba. Anyone with a pet knows the stress of finding someone you can truly trust, and we felt so lucky to have found them on Rover. She kept us updated with lots of pictures and messages about Simba’s eating, sleeping, and how he was doing. She was patient, caring, and made sure Simba ate his meals and got all the attention he needed. Her kids were amazing with him too — giving him so much attention and treating him like their own pet. They are everything we could ask for in a sitter, and we are so thankful for the love and care they gave Simba.”

“Sayak has been great with our furbaby, Milo! He's already had Milo 2x and the second time, Milo was thrilled to see him again- what better review than a happy dog? I get lots of feedback, photos and communication.”

About: I grew up caring for my family's black labs my entire life. I currently own two beautiful baby Shih Tzus, Tony & Guiness with my beautiful fiancé. They add so much joy to our lives and are a big part of our growing family. I invest a lot of time and effort into training them daily, to build trust and give them the best lives possible. Taking care of the animals in my life is a passion of mine, and I treat every pet like it's my own. I'm currently making pet care my full time job. After years of training athletes, I'm opting for a career that is rewarding in different ways. I'm available any time Monday through Friday and occasionally a weekend if I'm around and if it's a good fit. My apartment complex has many areas to walk outside, with sidewalks and open grass areas where I walk my boys. There is also a spacious indoor dog park in the basement of my complex where I take them to play, especially on rainy days. We do training both indoors and on walks outside, individually and as a family. I also expose my dogs to as many experiences as possible, bringing them to community events, outdoor dining, and social gatherings. Our family does not believe in leaving pets home alone all day every day, and want to give them as much stimulation and social interaction as possible.
“Margarita did an outstanding job taking care of our dog for a week. She’s extremely caring and treated our dog like part of her family. She communicated with me while we were traveling so I had regular updates and photos/videos. I can’t recommend her enough and will definitely use her services again.”

About: I’m a caring, patient, and dependable pet lover who treats every pet like family. I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and comfort level, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m able to work around feeding times, walks, playtime, and other routines your pet is used to. I pay close attention to pets during walks and playtime, ensure they have fresh water, and keep their environment clean and secure. I’m happy to follow any special instructions regarding medications, dietary needs, or behavioral preferences. I also believe communication is important, so I’ll gladly send updates and pictures to give you peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for every step of the way! ❤️🐶
“Ivy was AMAZING with our new pup, Holly. Holly is a very curious pup and gets into things sometimes but she is a sweetheart. Ivy taught Holly the “stay” command and “paw” during her week stay with Ivy. Our Holly LOVED Ivy’s son and got along with their dog, too, which makes me really haopy”

“Stephanie is a wonderful sitter. She is so sweet and caring. She is very accommodating and flexible. She will truly love your pet as her own and make them feel at home! My dog Apollo had a great time with Stephanie, and it’s great to know that my dog was in good hands. I would definitely book Stephanie over and over again!”

“Jaylene is a wonderful and kind petsitter! She comes over to check on our two cats and has created a bond with both of them, despite them being shy sometimes. We have a Great Pyrenees mix that she boards in her home and we can tell he has a great time! Jaylene is always flexible, communicative, and super helpful. Thanks again, Jaylene!”

“Our Rosie loves going to Nikki and Ricardo’s! She always has such a great time while we are away. We always feel comforted knowing she is well taken care of while we are on vacation.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Dreahook
We’re so grateful for the wonderful care Harper received over Thanksgiving. He came home happy, healthy, and clearly well-loved. They welcomed him into a busy, animal-friendly home where he got to be around cats, another dog, and even horses — such a fun experience for him! Communication was great throughout, and we felt very comfortable knowing he was in good hands while we visited family. It’s always a relief to leave your dog with people who genuinely care, and we really appreciated the attention and affection they gave him during the holiday. Thank you again for taking such great care of Harper — we’d be happy to have him stay with you in the future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Dreahook home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Dreahook.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Dreahook sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
