“I knew the first time meeting Joanne that this was the place I felt good about leaving my dog. I have used Joanne 3 times this summer and have been very happy with the care my dog has received. Thanks Joanne!”
“We had a wonderful experience with Chandar. He took such great care of our furry family member and made sure our dog felt comfortable, happy, and loved. He was reliable, caring, and attentive, and kept us updated throughout, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear he genuinely loves animals and treats them like his own. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets. We will definitely book with him again!”
“We left Keenu with Noria for the whole day. And he loved it. She was very nice and accommodative of my timings (as it was a work day). Her loads of pics and videos about Keenu’s well being were well appreciated throughout the day. We will definitely reach out again to her for our next dog sitting need. Thank you !”
“Steven was flexible and easy to work with. He seems to be very knowledgable about dogs and treats them with care. I received regular updates and photos while we were away. I think that Dusty enjoyed his stay!”
“Stan and Barbara took such great care of our dog for the week. They shared daily updates and pictures which we really enjoyed. We will definitely contact them again when we need a dog sitter. Happy to have found them using Rover!”
“Kristen was wonderful! You can tell right off the bat how much she loves and knows dogs. I felt 100% comfortable leaving my pup in her care. She’s extremely responsive and sends pics and videos. My dog had a lot of fun playing with her dog Cashew and her adorable son. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Kristen in the future!”
“I appreciate Samantha’s diligence in dealing with our last minute dilemmas. Spencer seemed to have had a lovely visit with her & Coco. He appeared happy & at ease in the pics she shared. I would certainly recommend her as a sitter of the highest quality…”
“Shannon was great at communicating and keeping us updated. We were running behind on drop off and did an early pick up and she was very flexible with our change in schedules. Thank you for all your help!”
“Our dog Penny had a wonderful stay with Debbie. She has a beautiful property and home, and upon receiving photos and videos, it was evident Penny felt very comfortable there. Debbie was an excellent communicator and gave us updates each day which was very reassuring. We are very grateful to have found her!”
“This was Bella's first stay with Angela, and it appeared that both were having a great time, so we ended up extending it by a few days. Angela clearly loves dogs and is very attentive to details. She has 3 small dogs of her own and her place is a great doggie resort, with a nice fenced-in back yard and a lovely deck that is safe for them to play around. The only problem I had to deal with Bella was the readjustment to the daily grind back home. We are booking a second vacation for Bella at Angela's next month.”
“We left our 2 year old Belgian with Jaimie for 5 days, and she took terrific care of our puppy. She sent us daily updates and pictures, sometimes more often. She catered to his fussy diet without a problem. He slept in bed with her, followed her around the house, and frolicked indoors and outdoors with her own dog. When we came to pick him up, he was beyond excited to see us, but kept on going back to her as well. For someone who can’t actually verbalize, that’s a pretty strong statement. We will certainly use Jaimie for “babysitting” again.”
“Extremely happy with Sayak. We had left our dog away for 2 weeks for the first time and worried about how he would react but Sayak took very good care of him. He felt at home at Sayak's house. Sayak used to send daily photos and videos. He replied to my messages almost instantly. I will avail his services again most certainly in the future.”
“Kiko was back with Subangi and Thana last week and she had such a good time! Subangi always ensures that Kiko eats properly and keeps us informed with lots of pictures and detailed messages. They even administered a medicine for her. We (and especially Kiko!) are so happy to have found Subangi and Thana to care for Kiko when we have to be away. Thank you Subangi and Thana!”
“Buddy had a great time. And we are glad to have found Vishnumansa to leave my pet (Buddy) with. Would definitely recommend Vishnumanasa to other per owners...great experience!”
“Jian and his family took excellent care of my dog. They treated her like she was their own, with love, care, and respect. Jian sent lots of pictures and communicated often. I would not hesitate to recommend Jian and would love to use him again in the future.”
“Ivy was AMAZING with our new pup, Holly. Holly is a very curious pup and gets into things sometimes but she is a sweetheart. Ivy taught Holly the “stay” command and “paw” during her week stay with Ivy. Our Holly LOVED Ivy’s son and got along with their dog, too, which makes me really haopy”
“My Olivia just Loves to stay with Nikki and Rick. I love the updates with pictures and video. She gets tons of exercise and comes home so tired from Playing all day. We recommend them 100%.”
“Davina and her family were so good to Arnie I was afraid he may not come home! Very proactive and responsive communication and pictures so you know your fur baby is happy! She even made homemade doggy treats and personalized each dog’s initial! Beyond exemplary!”
“We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”
“Kate did an amazing job taking care of my baby kitten, Bella! She provided frequent updates, which gave me peace of mind, and it was clear my kitten was in great hands. Her care and attention to detail were exceptional, and I truly appreciated her reassurance throughout. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rowland Mills
Natalie is incredible. She took in our dog and treated her as if it were her own. Her whole family is so caring and amazing. We have a hard time trusting people with our fur baby but we are so grateful and thankful to have found Natalie’s family. If you’re looking for an outstanding dog sitter who goes above and beyond- you will not be disappointed. We are so happy to know that our pup was well taken care of. She even cried when they dropped her back off at our house. We will be using Natalie and fam again and again and again without hesitation 🙏

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Rowland Mills home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Rowland Mills.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Rowland Mills sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
