About: Hi! I'm Megan, and I've been around dogs my entire life. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I truly love getting to know each pet's unique personality. I previously worked as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic, where I learned to recognize when a pet may need medical attention and became familiar with common health concerns. While I'm not a veterinarian, I know what warning signs to look for and won't hesitate to contact you or seek veterinary care if something doesn't seem right. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, going on adventures, or curling up on the couch for cuddles, I'm happy to match their routine and make them feel comfortable while you're away. My goal is to treat every pet like they're my own, so you can have peace of mind knowing they're safe, loved, and well cared for. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family! I currently work part-time at a hospital in Lincoln, where I work two 12-hour shifts each week. Since I create my own schedule, I know my availability up to six weeks in advance. In short, I have plenty of flexibility and time to provide the care and attention your fur baby deserves! I am more than willing to watch your fur babies in the comfort of their own home, where they can stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. I know how important it is for pets to keep their normal routine, especially when their humans are away. I will treat your pets like they are my own and make sure they get plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re gone. I am also respectful of your home and will make sure everything is left the way I found it.

“Our Hazel and Estes have a new buddy and we are so happy and grateful for Piper for taking such good care of them. Piper provided daily pictures that showed our puppies enjoying their time. We will definitely book again!”

About: I love being around animals! I got my first dog when I was 15 and trained him myself. Then I have dogs sat for countless families. I have cared for puppies to senior dogs and of all kinds. I work part time and go to college full time, but I have lots of time in my schedule for pups. I am avalible in the afternoons and on weekends I do not have a fenced in yard, but I have a yard and I love to go for walks and be outside with your dog! I can crate them if preferred or accommodate to many situations.
“She is fabulous she kept updates and tons of photos to show. She was a very quick response and my girlie loved her! This was our 1st time using rover app. She calmed my nerves with all the smiles and loves from our girlies. We will be using marikita again for sure! Thank you again!!”

About: I have grown up around and caring for LOTS of dogs, cats and all sorts of wild animals, and I currently work at an animal care center with all of the above!! I do have a full time job, but I can work in time around that schedule! I also have two rotating days off a week. I work rotating shifts of 7:30-4:00pm 7:45-4:25pm 9:45-6:15pm. Although I have three of my own very loving dogs, we often have other animals in our care so I am unable to provide boarding.

About: I’ve had family dogs my whole life and love to do things outdoors with my dogs. I have two dogs right now one old and one a puppy both with completely different personalities. I’m a student at the university of Nebraska so weekends and afternoons are when I’m most available. I don’t have many other commitments besides classes so I’m very available. I live in my family’s home in Minnesota during summer and breaks but live in apartment in Lincoln during the school year. Brining pets to my apartment wouldn’t work, so I would have to go to clients home.
About: I have worked with dogs for 5 years. I have helped puppies adjust to new homes and people. I have also aided senior dogs with medications and other special requirements. I am usually always available all week, and on weekends. I have a part-time job, however it is easy to work around if needed for clients. I try to provide any type of care my clients' pets may require. Along with any additional requests that the clients may have to give.
“Ashlee was wonderful. She took care of our Willow and also our home. I would trust her to take care of my dog anytime. She is responsible and very caring for our furry friend. Thank you Ashlee.”

“Gretchen took wonderful care of our 2 large dogs while we were away for 3 nights. She had excellent communication and sent fun photo updates every day. Our house was very clean when we returned. We will definitely book her again!”

“5 stars doesn't seem like enough. We were gone for 2 weeks, and with a 13-year-old dog (who is high maintenance and sometimes has the energy of a puppy), it's hard to find someone we trust who can come to our house to keep Dexter's routine the same. Alisha was even better than we hoped for. From daily updates and pictures to the sweetest note when we got home, we never had to worry about Dex. She even cleaned, vacuumed, and washed sheets. Without a question, we will rebook with Alisha in the future. She's truly the best!”

About: Hi! I'm Adam! I am a professional dog trainer with over 5 years of experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities. After being the General Manager of a dog training facility, I developed a passion for helping dogs feel safe, confident, and loved. Whether it's a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I'll provide dependable care, plenty of exercise, and lots of updates so you can relax knowing your pup is in great hands! I have a flexible work schedule, which allows me to provide dependable care throughout the day and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Whether it's early morning walks, drop-in visits, or evening check-ins, I'm able to adjust my schedule to meet your pet's routine. I believe consistency is important, so I do my best to keep pets on their normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and secure while you're away. I believe every pet is unique, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences before providing care. In a client's home, I aim to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible by following feeding schedules, providing fresh water, going on walks or playtime, cleaning up after them, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I'll also send regular photo and text updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. If I'm caring for a pet in my own home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can relax and feel at home. I'll make sure they receive plenty of exercise, enrichment, potty breaks, and one-on-one attention while maintaining any routines or instructions you've provided. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, secure, and well cared for from the moment they arrive until it's time to go home.

I’m patient, dependable, attentive, and treat every pet like they’re my own. My schedule allows me flexibility to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I’m happy to make time for walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, medications, and plenty of attention. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions with feeding, medications, exercise, and daily routines, I pay close attention to changes in behavior or health and make sure pets are comfortable, supervised, and cared for in a calm and loving environment.
“Tracy was outstanding at taking care of our dog and two cats while we were away for a few days. She followed their routines, took our dog on multiple walks, and gave everyone lots of love. She also took great care of the house (even taking the trash out) so it was just how we left it. We came home to happy animals and no extra housework. We will definitely have Tracy back!”
About: I’ve had multiple dogs and a cat in my life. I love animals and I enjoy taking care of them. I am also looking to expand my resume! I am a student and am just looking to get into this part time. I love animals and want to help out if I can. I love taking care of other people and their animals, me and my family have done it for many many years and we love it!
About: I’m a reliable, caring animal lover who treats every pet like family. I understand that pets are more than animals—they’re companions, and they deserve patience, attention, and lots of love while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or cuddles, I make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs, and I’m committed to giving owners peace of mind with dependable, loving care. Your furry family member will be in good hands with me! Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I’m organized, dependable, and able to make time for feeding, walks, playtime, check-ins, and giving pets the attention they need. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets doesn’t feel like a task—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I can adjust my schedule to meet a pet’s routine and make sure they receive consistent, loving care while their owners are away. I prefer caring for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and can stay in their normal routine. I make sure they have fresh food and water, regular potty breaks or walks, playtime, affection, and any specific care they need, such as medication or following feeding schedules. I also keep the home tidy, provide updates to owners for peace of mind, and make it my priority to give pets loving, attentive care in a familiar environment where they feel safe and stress-free.

About: I was the kid who drove her parents crazy always bringing strays home to take care of them. For as long as I can remember, I've always felt a pull to protect and care for animals. I work a set schedule but am free mornings before I go in and evenings after I get off. I do not work weekends so I would have more free time to engage with pets and spend more time with them. Along with my kids, my animals are my top priorities. I take my caregiver responsibilities seriously at home and in the workplace. I understand every pet parent is different and I am accommodating and easily adaptable to different schedules and routines.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 249 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Denton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Denton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Denton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Denton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Denton. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
