Fur-babies are the best!
Our family, Amber, Lauren, Dave and Kathy, have been fostering animals for the Capitol Humane Society since 2011. We’ve helped care for 150+ animals throughout that time and have fallen in love with every one of them. We’ve had all different types of dogs with all different personalities and needs, from medical help to just some extra socialization before getting a chance to be adopted. After awhile, a few of our animal fosters found a permanent place in our home, including a dorky dog and 4 ornery and fun cats, all loved to pieces. With the recent growth of more families volunteering in the Humane Society's fostering program, we don't get a chance to foster as many dogs as in the past. So Rover gives our family a chance to meet and care for more dogs while helping owners out with their own busy schedules! We enjoy sharing our home with new furry friends! We understand that every dog likes their routine and we do our best to stick to what they are used to in their own home.

Kathy and family exceed our expectations on taking care of our newly diagnosed blind pup, Winston. We hadn't even wrapped our heads around the fact that Winston was now blind when we had to leave him behind as we took a previously scheduled vacation. Kathy and Dave kept us up to date on how Winston was getting along by sending us photos and letting us know that he was a happy boy. We appreciate the attention to detail that was provided to Winston. We will definitely be repeat customers!! Thanks, again, for taking care of our little guy.

Schedule
Dave works from his home office every day. The rest of us have work or school outside of the house for parts of the day, but we all work together to accommodate the whole schedule and we all enjoy pitching in to care for our canine visitors!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a large fenced yard to help keep your fur baby safe. A great safe place to run and romp and have some fun. Most of the services we provide are in our home. We can occasionally accept requests for house sitting or drop-in visits, but only if it fits around our schedule of caring for other dogs we are watching here. Similarly, although we have a price listed for pick-up and drop-off services, our schedule only allows for those in very rare special circumstances. We normally need pet owners to drop off and pick up at our home.

A typical day
We love playing with our Rover visitors! Whether they enjoy playing fetch, or just lots of petting and cuddling, we can meet their needs! We live on the edge of Lincoln, providing plenty of non-busy roads, a large fenced yard, and a few close by lakes and parks for long walks and room to release a lot of energy.
