“I have been booking house sitters for 7 years and Amanda is by far the best house sitter I have ever had. The communication. The care towards all my animals. The care towards my home. She was phenomenal!!!!!! I will only book through her going forward!”

About: Hi! I’m Elle, a professional hairstylist and lifelong dog lover based in the Houston area. Caring for others—whether it’s people or pets—is what I truly enjoy. I'm a professional hairstylist running My Salon in the Heights. I have flexible hours and wanted to utilize my extra time in a more meaningful way. My goal is to make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable cared for and loved while you're away. I treat every pet like my own, paying close attention to their routine, personalities, and needs.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and taken care of small high energy dogs, to large German shepherds. I love walking and spending time around animals! I’m currently a student two days a week and go to clinicals three other days so usually after 5 pm most days I can come by and walk and hang out with your pets! On weekends I’m available all day to come stop by. I’ve always taken care of pets I’m watched very well and will follow whatever care instructions are given no matter how complicated. I will help enforce any training started or try my best to help them learn new skills as well.
“Angie did an absolute amazing job with my 2 pups. She was very communicative and was a great sitter. She was very patient, and was able to handle any inconvenience well. I highly recommend Angie and look forward to booking her regularly.”

“Stephanie took great care of my cats while I was away. She was able to follow all instructions I left about picking up and dropping off the keys and fob, and gave me plenty of daily updates. I’d greatly recommend her services!”

“Matty did a wonderful job caring for my four dogs. She was punctual, responsible, and stayed for the full amount of time we agreed upon. She communicated very well, sent plenty of photos, videos, and updates, and asked thoughtful questions whenever she needed clarification. I especially appreciated how attentive she was to each dog’s individual needs. She handled separating them responsibly, made sure everyone had access to foo/water, and was calm and patient enough that even my more sensitive dog, Missy, warmed up to her and became affectionate with her. That meant a great deal to me. My dogs clearly liked her, and I felt confident that they were safe and well cared for while I was away. She was thoughtful, reliable, efficient, and genuinely caring. I would absolutely recommend her and would be happy to have her care for my dogs again.”

About: Hi there, I'm Krystal, a genuine animal lover! I have an American Pit bull terrier about to be 8 years old and leopard gecko. I have a large yard and home with plenty of space for outdoor play, a few parks and a bayou nearby to take your fur baby out on a nice walk. I would prefer all pets to be house trained but its okay if they're pad trained. I work during the daytime and rotate care shifts with my hubs when I'm away so your fur baby will always have a set of eyes on them at all times. We are a team with pet sitting so your baby will always be in good hands! For overnight care, I'll be able to stay and care for your pet in your home as well while you're away. Any special requests can be accommodated. Do not be afraid to ask questions during a booking! Let me know when I can care for your pet! I’m always glad to help and be a care giver! I work part-time and have open availability. Dog parks visits are a favorite! Potty breaks are frequently given and walks as well unless otherwise discussed. Please keep in mind, due to extreme heat temperatures, your pet may be walked earlier/later than usual to prevent health concerns. I do offer a medium crate and separate eating/drinking tray for your fur baby! Shampoos and brushing available upon request during their stay and can be given if they do get dirty during their stay or outdoor/playtime.
“Such a pleasant experience. Atticus gets such bad separation anxiety and she took him on walks and helped keep him happy. He didn’t turn his back to me and pout like he normally does after trips, lol. The house was in great condition after, as well.”

“After I had to leave for a family emergency, Michelle was able to watch my dogs within hours, and did such a great job despite my lack of in depth instruction. My boys looked happy in every picture and knowing they were well taken care of gave me the peace of mind that allowed me to be present in my situation. I cannot thank her enough”

About: I’ve always had animals in the home. I absolutely adore them and love spending time with them. I have experience giving medications to dogs and specific feeding routines. I do work 8-3:30 most days besides weekends so I can be with the animals a lot and work a consistent schedule that allows me to be with the animals on a certain routine. I have a fenced in yard, with lots of shade. Lots of space in the backyard and inside of the home for the animals to explore.

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and caring for pets comes naturally to me. As a proud dog mom to three mini schnauzers, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets—they’re family. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, including puppies who need structure and play, and senior dogs who need extra patience and gentle care. I make it a priority to follow your pet’s routine closely so they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while you’re away. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I also provide regular photo and video updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind and make your pet feel loved, safe, and cared for at all times. Caring for animals is already part of my everyday life. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, and quality time with pets, so I can give them consistent attention and care. I truly enjoy making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether in my home or a client’s, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and loving environment. I stick to each pet’s routine for feeding, walks, and rest, and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I treat every pet like my own and keep owners updated so they always know how their pet is doing.
“Brianna did amazing caring for our senior dog and adult dog recovering from surgery. She truly provided excellent care for our babies, followed our dog’s special recovery needs and communicated thoroughly.”
“From the first interaction through Rover, Eva was timely, professional, friendly, and thorough. She was a great a communicator and very thoughtful with my doggies. I could tell I would very much appreciate how attentive and interactive she was, with my pets as well as giving me updates while I was away. She had the initiative to ask detailed questions about my pets and took notes, offered to bring treats for them and even played with them outside. Since one my dogs has incontinence issues, she even brought items to protect my furniture. Overall, I am very pleased with Eva and encourage anyone to have confidence in booking with her. I look forward to rebooking with her myself.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I could remember. Growing up we have always had dogs and it was my responsibility to take care of them. Neighbors and friends would always come to me to dog sit for them. I enjoy making a dog’s life more enjoyable for them. I know with busy working parents it’s hard owning animals to keep them entertained. It makes my heart full knowing that I’m benefiting the pets life by providing exercise and mental stimulation I work from 6:30 to 3 Monday through Friday. After work I like to get a walk in everyday. It makes it feel like a more productive walk when I have a dog with me because I know I’m giving that dog exercise and mental stimulation. My dog and cat go on tons of adventures with us. We love to hike. If I’m watching your animal in house I will make sure I’m creating a safe and calm place in their home making sure they are not lonely or bored.

About: I’m a dog trainer with 5 years of professional experience dog training, but almost 10 years caring for dogs. I started out working at a boarding facility when I was 18 and was training by 20. I’m an AKC Evaluator for Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dogs International, and I can teach Star Puppy Classes. I’m double majoring in Chemistry and Biology at UHCL, so I’m not training at any facility. I miss dogs and training so I’m looking for a little side action to scratch my itch. It’s my passion. I’m more interested in training your dogs than I am boarding them, but I’d still enjoy dog walking and house sitting for you and your pooches. I can handle the “bad” dogs that some of the other Rover people might not enjoy taking care of.
“Sarah took such great care of our pups! It means a lot to know you can trust someone to take care of your fur babies while you’re away. Will definitely reach out again for dog sitting when we need it.”

“Faith is amazing! Asked good, thorough questions while booking that eased my nerves of leaving our boys for the first time. She updated us with photos throughout her care, which we greatly enjoyed. The house and fur babies were well taken care of, and she stripped the bed before leaving! Made it easy to get back to our routine after a weekend away. Would highly recommend Faith, and will rebook her myself!”

About: Hi! I’m Darlene. A little into my personal life: -I’m 30 years old. -SHSU Alumna 🧡💙🤍 -Vet Tech for 6 years -I have two dogs: Marley, my senior boy. He’s 16 years old and doesn’t seem to have much thoughts lol but he’s still trucking along. It’s his world, we’re just living in it. Yumi, my 6 year old girl. We like to call her the sweetest, most beautiful bby in the entire world. She’s a sweet heart and is a proud member of the lamb chop cult. Both of my dogs are adopted from shelters. 🐾💛 -My hobbies are reading, watching horror movies, playing my ninendo switch, and spending time with my husband/dogs. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-babies. 🐾 I currently work full-time as a vet tech. I usually work 4x10’s and I’m off on the weekends. I like to be as transparent as possible with you, and I do my best to try and leave for lunch and give your babies a potty break, but it’s not always a guarantee, given the nature of my job. I really try not to disrupt their routine while you’re away and I will love on them and care for them like they’re my own. Every dog/cat deserves that & I’m very big on cuddles and sending photos with updates!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Deer Park
Chelsey had a meet and greet with us before her stay, that was really appreciated! Chelsey was a great overnight house sitter with our pup, Ava. She made sure to send updates and pictures during her stay. She also kept us updated on her arrival and her departure times. Ava was happy and in a great mood when we arrived.

This is the second time we’ve had the good fortune to have Gabriel house and pet sit for us. He knows how to handle anything needed at the house, shares updates on the my two goofy dogs, and the dogs are happy and content when we return. In addition to loving the dogs, he dosed one with eye drops, and fed our fish. And to top it all off, the house was very clean and orderly when we arrived home. We will be happy to have Gabriel again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deer Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deer Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deer Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deer Park. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
