This was a last-minute emergency appointment, and Sarah immediately fit my dogs into her schedule. Aside from the fun time my dogs have with her, knowing that she's willing to help out whenever we need her is amazingly important to us! Thank you, Sarah, for helping out whenever you can. ❤️❤️

About: I have experience in dog care for 16 years, from puppies to senior dogs due to owning two of my own. My friends trust me to watch their dogs, knowing that I will treat them like my own. I have a hybrid work schedule, so I am home 3-days of the week and usually just run errands on weekends close to my community. I currently have one senior dog so I have to make sure not to be away too long. I have a big yard, but it is not fenced off. I do have a stake where I am able to let my dog outside without him wandering off, and I have cameras in the backyard as well but I am usually outside if I let them out. I normally walk my dog for exercise purposes.

I may not have alot of years of experience doing this, but i have a big heart and would do everything in my power to maintain their safety I'm currently working a part-time job, so i'll be free all day up until 5pm. I would be free again after 10/11pm for overnight sitting. I will only be coming to homes to care for pets as I can't have them in my dad's rental house. This was our first time having a dogsitter versus boarding our dogs. Crystal was awesome - she sent us pics and our dogs love her. I am the type of pet owner that HATES leaving our dogs to travel, but I really felt good that they stayed in their own home and Crystal was dropping in on them throughout the day. It seemed like they didn't even miss us! Am already booking her for our next vacation!

About: I am a dog owner and have always had dogs in my home. I love how loyal they are and enjoy their company. I would love to host your dog and give them somewhere fun and loving to stay where you don’t have to worry about them. I’m currently working hybrid so Friday-Monday I’ll be able to keep an eye on your pup and play all day. I am also available in the evening Tuesday-Thursday. I have a fenced yard so your babies can enjoy lots of outside time without the restriction of a leash. I also have a dog of my own who will be a great companion. We go on two walks a day and would love to have a friend to go along with us.

She even helped us through an issue with the heating in our home. I would absolutely recommend her and would trust her with my cats again!!

About: Hello! My name is Jackie. I have been surrounded by animals all my life. I am 25 years old. I got into more experience with handling animals around 15 years of age. I’ve fostered four litters of kittens while finding them new homes. I have experience with bottle feeding. I have looked after friends and family’s dogs as well. I’ve taken dogs for walks, bathed them and other necessary things they needed such as medications. I would like to provide you with the comfort of knowing that your pet is in good, loving care! Pet care fits well into my routine because I currently attend school only twice a week. This allows me to have a flexible schedule for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I’m able to plan my days around the pets I’m caring for to make sure they receive consistent attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. Even on school days, I make sure to schedule visits and check-ins so pets stay on their normal routine. My goal is to keep pets comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention while making sure they feel safe and relaxed in their own environment. I currently care for pets in the client’s home through drop-ins, walks, or house sitting and do not bring pets into my own home. I always send updates and photos so owners know their pets are doing well.

About: I started working with dogs over a decade ago where I volunteered to get homeless dogs into foster programs. My passion for dogs only grew from there. I worked in the doggy daycare industry to get me through college but, when I finished, I had no desire to leave! I've been in the industry for 7+ years and am well-versed in animal behavior. Whether your dog is kind, skeptical, quirky, has health hazards.... I tend to their needs while ensuring they are safe and having fun! Your pet is my priority. I plan to dedicate the days on my calendar purely to my clients. If you have special needs feel free to message me. I am quite flexible, and can make any pup's routine work! I care for all pets based on their needs. If you have a shy dog who needs space, I can spend time earning their trust. If your dog is a ball of joy, I will burn all their energy and make sure they have tons of fun! I am experienced and can respond to health emergencies, injuries, etc.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I cared for a variety of pets including Rottweilers, a purebred Husky, teacup Chihuahuas, rabbits, turtles, and guinea pigs. Since I was homeschooled while most of my siblings were at school, I became the primary caregiver for many of our pets, handling feeding, exercise, cleaning, and daily care. I also helped train our white Husky using patience and consistency, which taught me the importance of understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine very naturally because I’m already used to structured responsibilities and being attentive to animal needs. I also work part-time, so I’m familiar with balancing a job, staying organized, and still making sure I give animals consistent, focused care. I plan my schedule intentionally so pet visits, walks, and check-ins don’t feel rushed or like an afterthought. When I’m with pets, they have my full attention. I make sure feeding, playtime, litter care, and comfort routines are done properly and on time. Even with a part-time work schedule, I prioritize clear communication and reliability, so pet parents always know their pets are safe, cared for, and getting regular updates. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their environment as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow their normal routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, litter box care, playtime, and any special instructions like medications or specific habits. I also make sure their space stays clean, safe, and comfortable while respecting the home as if it were my own. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and comfort level—whether they’re energetic and playful or shy and need space. I let them warm up at their own pace and make sure they feel secure while their owner is away. I also provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident and connected. If caring for pets in my home, I would maintain a calm, clean, and supervised environment where pets are given attention, structure, and comfort throughout the day.

Dani was such a great caretaker of our three cats. She is reliable, very caring and detail oriented. She communicated well throughout the time I was gone and always sent me photos of all my cats. I can’t wait to use her again the next time I leave town. I was really nervous about using the app and having someone I didn’t know come watch my cats, and typically when I am gone I have a lot of anxiety leaving them. Dani came over before I left and we had a meet and greet and since then I felt so comfortable having her as my pet sitter. I didn’t stress one time while I was away because I knew she was taking great care of my cats ❤️

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Dallas stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dallas. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
