“Vicky house sat for us while I was overseas for 11 days. She stayed in touch and communicated very well. I appreciate the care she gave to my dogs and my home. It gave my peace of mind to know she was there. I would definitely recommend her services 🙂”

“Paula is the best. She stayed in our home and took care of our dog and cat while we left town for a long weekend. I instantly felt comfortable with Paula. She was very communicative, thoughtful, and patient. Our cat normally is uninterested in new people and I was confident that she would most likely hide while we were away but she actually came out quickly and socialized with Paula. Both our dog and cat loved Paula. We feel so fortunate to have found Paula and I whole heartedly recommend her service to anyone who desires high quality care for their pets!”

“Bella stayed over with my two dogs. Came twice ahead to meet the dogs and get a briefing. Sent lots of pictures and updates while I was away. House was clean and orderly when I returned. Much better than the kennel!!”

“That’s such a sweet detail — here’s the updated review with that added in: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She was absolutely wonderful with Ozzie, Molly, and Pita. Her calm, low-key energy was just what they needed. When I got home, everyone was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. She even took the time to run water for Pita, which he loves. It was such a thoughtful touch! It gave me real peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and caring hands. I’ll definitely be using her again.”

“Emma has been great with Augie. We’ve had her for walks and housesitting. She keeps him very entertained and very happy and we get lots of fun pictures! She treats him like he’s her own 😊”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets my entire life, and my family and friends look to me if they need me to dog sit (or pet sit) when they’re away or unavailable. I love animals, and so getting to take care of furry friends is an absolute treat!! I’m currently attending college, so monday and wednesday mornings im out of the house from 8-12. any other time, if given enough notice, i can be available for you and your pets! I live in a family home with my dog daisy, who is very friendly and about 14 years old now. She never fails to be entertained, and I love her with all my heart. I will do the same for your pets :)
About: I usually work with shy, aggressive or fearful dogs or cats. It can take weeks, months or years to befriend them but when you do it's extremely rewarding, especially when an animal someone deems "dangerous" comes out to be the biggest sweetheart. I have tons of patience and I believe every species of animal deserves love and respect. As humans, it's our duty to be the voices and guardians of the animals in our care. They look to us for comfort, guidance, love and peace. That's why I do anything in my power to donate or volunteer at animal shelters because every animal should know that there's humans out there that actually care about their well being. Working with animals is a great career for me. Update; 8/2020 I’ve been volunteering and working with pets as a professional pet care provider for five years now. Through my journey I’ve learned pet CPR and gained dog training knowledge through Poochpals llc as well as worked as a dog handler at walterspetstyles. I’m currently working on becoming a certified dog trainer and furthering my knowledge on Pet care. At Poochpals we believe in being a friend for life so I’m definitely bringing our motto into the field and looking to become a furever friend for your pets. If you’re ever in need of an actual PROFESSIONAL pet care provider, look no further! I also have basic training knowledge so don’t be surprised if your pup or cat comes back knowing a few new tricks 😂 I have open availability Monday-Sunday. I look forward to meeting you and your pups! My dog, Odin, loves to make new friends of all species. Updates:4/7/2026 Hello friends! I would not be at 29 Hanford anymore due to instability, so I’m moving my business down to NYC before heading to PA. We have multiple fences in house and around the property. Pups are also supervised 24/7 and we have a designated dog room just for them. Back porch is also secured with gates. Dogs aren’t allowed on the lawn without human supervision and a 20ft leash. Lawn is fenced. We have strict safety procedures when it comes down to pets and children.
“Alisa is a true animal lover and my gang adored her. She is a great communicator, always letting you know how everything is going, when she is arriving, when she is leaving. She sends lots of photos and videos and was a joy to work with. I felt like my guys were in great hands and I would absolutely work with her again!”

About: My experience includes my own dog of 14 (and current) years, owning exotic pets, going to a trade school for animal science, graduated from community college and planning to go to vet school in the next 2 years. Ive worked at animal hospitals and humane society’s Im currently a working college student who has some free time and would like to make a little extra cash to save for vet school I take my dog on (almost) daily 30 minute walks, including an hour and 1/2 one, once a week. Since I have some extra time i’d love helping other pups get their outside time too

About: I have experience with many different dog breeds with different energy and health needs. I give all of the animals under my care the same treatment. I would take care of a super senior cat with the same dedication I would a golden retriever puppy. I'm not squeamish at all either, I'm comfortable dealing with body fluids and administering injection and medications. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters so i've seen it all! Currently, my only commitments are helping to babysit younger family members, which is flexible schedule and only part-time. I have lots of time to not only take care of your animals, but also play with them and give them good entertainment My own dog is a runner, so I am hypervigilant about making sure animals don't dart out doors. I always make sure I physically see the animal and watch them to make sure they look healthy and happy, I don't just leave food and water and go home. I'm more than happy to give daily updates on animals i'm watching there are owners out of town and take pictures
About: From overnight stays and walks to playtime and cuddles, family and friends have entrusted me with the care of their fur baby. Being able to work with cats and dogs on a daily basis as a veterinary assistant continues to help me accumulate various skills to work with animals of all temperaments and ages! I’m currently working part time so I’d have flexible time to spend with your precious pups whether during the week or during the weekend ! Pups are off if their routine is off so if you have a specific schedule or way of doing things I can assure you I will stick to the game plan.
“I’m so happy to have met Samantha. She is incredibly kind and took great care of my dogs (and house!) while I was away for an extended work trip and they clearly adored her too. FAQs for House Sitting - Cuddebackville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 424 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cuddebackville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cuddebackville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cuddebackville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cuddebackville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cuddebackville. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
