“Alex and his wife Cristina, as always did a great job with our fur babies and maintaining our home. When we came back the girls are happy and the house is clean. I couldn’t ask for more.”

“Haley was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of Enzo, Echo, Max, and Zach while we were away, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept us updated, treated our pets like they were her own, and gave us complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets, and it was obvious they were comfortable with her. Haley is reliable, caring, and professional, and we would not hesitate to book her again. We highly recommend Haley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of our crew!”

“Lesley was a life saver! We have 2 dogs, a cat, 2 mini donkeys, and a horse and she cared for all of them while we were gone. She even sent pictures of our babies which I love receiving while away from them. She gave them lots of cuddles and love; even if the cat may have forced her to cuddle more than anticipated 😅 we will definitely be reaching out to Lesley again whenever we need someone we can trust to watch our four legged babies!”

“We loved having Alicia care for our pups while we were out of town. She was kind and professional, and took extra care with our pup who was more anxious. She gave great recaps of their day and it really helped to know she was taking such good care of our pups. We will definitely be recommending her to friends if they need a pet sitter.”

“Max took excellent care of our 2 dogs while away on vacation. He sent regular communication and I could tell he really cared about them. He left the house in great condition. Will use Max again for sure.”

“Latasha was wonderful! From the beginning she came for a meet and greet and got down on the floor with my Percy! She asked very specific questions about his routine and wanted to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. During her stay she was very interactive with Percy. Took him on outings and walks and made sure he had plenty of play time and attention. On a night of a storm she let Percy sleep in bed with her to help comfort him!! Any concerns she had she messaged me immediately. She was great about sending updates and pictures to make sure I felt he was in good hands which definitely decreased my worries. Latasha treated my home with respect and left my home just as she found it. She even helped me with my newly planted garden to ensure it stayed watered while I was away. I will definitely use Latasha again in the future.”

“Sarah did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Kobe! She was super communicative, sent lots of updates and pictures, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Kobe looked so happy and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend her and would love to work with her again!”
“Alexandria was a phenomenal pet sitter! We felt completely at ease and were able to fully enjoy our trip knowing our animals were in such good hands. She cared for them as if they were her own—attentive, playful, and always keeping our dog company. It’s clear our pets love her and feel comfortable around her. We’ll absolutely hire her again for any future travel!”

“Tori was amazing. Our little critters were engaged and happy upon our return. Her constant communication, pictures and feedback made our trip stress free - knowing the cats (and the house) was in good hands. I’ve already put Tori on speed dial for my next trip. Totally would recommend her services to anyone!!”

“Ava was wonderful! She took great care of our pup and even took him on fun adventures and hikes. We had a last minute need and are so glad she was able yo accommodate. Thank you, Ava!”

“Hayley was wonderful with my 2 pups! She was here 3 different trips and really helped with their medical needs and keeping them company! I already have her booked for another trip coming up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Perri is wonderful! We loved receiving multiple updates while away with photos and the communication was always clear and timely. This was our third time hiring Perri and will continue!”

“Jeremy did such a wonderful job caring for Bruce and our home for a week! He was very communicative and sent photos and updates during the stay. We would highly recommend Jeremy and will definitely book with him when we need a Rover again in the future!”

“Marsha was super communicative and took great care of our fur babies! She left the house super clean as well. Logan and Gilly seemed very happy for the company and cuddles while we were out of town!”

About: I have had pets and taken care of other's pets for most of my life! I absolutely adore animals of all kinds. I used to house/dog sit for a friend all the time but most recently I've been taking care of kitties. I currently work part time and my schedule is pretty flexible. With notice I can make sure I am able to spend plenty of time with your babies! I have done some house sitting before and never had any complaints! I am also very responsive and I will take good care of your pets and your home. No worries!

“Heather is great! I’ve been a Rover sitter for years but had never actually used the service myself before. Luckily when I reached out to Heather through the app a couple of weeks before I left for Christmas she was still available. When my return flight was canceled she was very accommodating and agreed to stay an extra night. I know Dewey was in excellent hands! She kept me updated on his antics and was super responsive whenever I reached out. Highly recommend!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Crystal Lake Park is $45

As usual Sarah was awesome. I would actually rate her six stars out of five instead of five. I was worried when I left on my 8-day trip because my dog was a little sick and I had to take him to the vet on the Sunday before I left and fortunately the numbers were good enough that the vet felt I could travel and he would be okay. That said Sarah went up to my vet for me and picked up some medication to help him get back on his feet. She was the one making suggestions of what to feed him to get him to eat and I think that's typical of her going above and beyond.

Abby took great care of my German Shepherd and my cat while I was out of town for several days. She kept me updated to everything going on with the pets and in the house, and I came home to calm, happy pets and a clean house with trash taken out and bedding already in the washer. Thanks, Abby!

Danica seemed comfortable with caring for two dogs, one being a puppy with us for just a month. I did leave detailed instructions to help with recall of verbal directions given at our meet and greet. Most directions were followed, as far as I could deduct. However, she did not use their food bowls to give them their food, as written in the reminder notes. The bowls had labeled dry food with treats for bedtime and a spoon for mixing with the refrigerated food. However, she fed them without the bowls and without mixing dry and cold foods. That was a puzzlement to me.

FAQs for House Sitting - Crystal Lake Park
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,731 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crystal Lake Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crystal Lake Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crystal Lake Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crystal Lake Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
