“Alyssa was wonderful! She and Lumi cat hit it off right away. They enjoyed play time together, she sent fun action shots of Lumi with his feather toy and took care of meals, lights, etc. Everything was taken care of. Thanks Alyssa!”

“Chloe did great with my cat, Ellie. She came over twice a day with no issues and fed, watered, and cleaned the litter area for Ellie when I was out of town for two weeks. The house looks spotless and Ellie appreciated the company. Highly recommended!”

“I can’t thank Ivonka enough for taking the time to watch my cats over the holidays! They all warmed up to her super quickly and I know they were in good hands this week with someone who has an amazing passion of caring for animals. I received lots of photos of them having a fun time playing and eating their meals while I was out of town. I highly recommend her services!”

“I could not have asked for a better first experience with Rover. Mary was absolutely a dream to have come over and take care of my boys. She sent me a bunch of pictures of both of my dogs and made sure that they were loved while we were away. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I feel blessed to have found her.”

“Beth was so wonderful! She went above and beyond caring for our kitty and making sure he was loved while we were gone. She sent lots of pictures and updates as well! Would highly recommend!”

“Heather is so kind and patient. We had a couple of meet and greet sessions, but today was her first time with Charlie, alone. He posed some challenges, but Heather worked through them and Charlie was able to warm up to her. Heather went above and beyond what I expected, and I would recommend her to anyone who needs care.”

“Alphonse was accurate in his care details, attentive to our pets and they took to him nicely. Job well done. I'm also glad he asked pertinent questions when necessary. I would definitely request his services again.”

“Rachael was very communicative & patient. She helped to alleviate any anxieties I had while traveling away from my senior cat. She sent lots of photos & kept me in the loop about my cat’s behavior, eating patterns, and overall mood. 10/10 service, glad i already have her booked for my next vacation!”

About: I am really patient with animals and all animals seem to love me even though if I just met them! I am workable too! I can handle big dogs too! I would pretty much open for the rest of January!! But soon I’ll be back in college full time and work full time but I would still be open to doing some pet sitting or dog walking! I have two cats and we feed them, play with them, bath them, we also cut there nails! I also had a black lab around 110 pounds I would take him on walks, feed him, and I was in the process of helping him overcome some of the shelter life he picked up!
“Logan did absolutely amazing! He was super communicative and did great making sure my dogs felt safe and happy!!! He is definitely my go to any pet care it’s so clear how much he cares for dogs and they loved him. Thanks so much and i will definitely be booking again!!”

I also currently have two of the best black cats in the world named Jasmine and Ozzy. I’ve pet sat since I was a young teen for family and friends. I have experience as well giving medications including insulin shots. I also have two of my own children and have a ton of experience with care and I’m so excited to meet your fur babies! I’m currently going to school for Respiratory Therapist! I am in person Monday and Wednesday from 8-5 but besides that I am free! I customize your pets experience to their owners requests and pets needs! Your fur babies will always get the most love and care. If your dog loves outdoors then I will spend time with them outside. If they love to just be cuddled with and a good belly scratch then I can provide that! I want to make your animals feel safe and loved!
About: I have been around cats and dogs most of my life, and have had my own dogs for 10+ years. Right now I have three- a tiny Chihuahua, a medium Carolina mix, and a HUGE Rhodesian Ridgeback. I trained them myself and they are my whole world! I would be happy to work on some training with your dog, I really have a passion for it.💜 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37 I work full-time, so I'm mostly available in the evenings. I am usually off on Sunday and Monday or Sunday and Friday so I have more time on those days. I can do whatever is required for each specific dog. I have no problem getting dogs in and out of crates, walking any size dog while working on leash manners if desired by the owner, feeding and playing, whatever your pup needs!

About: I’m available for just about everything. I have multiple dogs so there is plenty of play time. I have had experience with dog training and internship under multiple trainers and different styles. I have worked as a vet tech for 4 years. I have crates for everyone and plenty of toys. Everyone has their own cubby where their stuff will be so we don’t lose anything. I’ve taken care of dogs with seizures diabetes and aggression there is no challenge I can’t handle. Each dog has their own tailored plan and pet parents will get a “report card” with a photo of their pups everyday, except during holidays it will be every other day. If you have any questions feel free to contact me :) I am a stay at home fur mom who enjoys helping others out with there own pups needs while they are away! We generally get up at 7am breakfast around 8am. Rest from 8-8:30 to prevent throw up! Then from 8:30am-6pm we are having fun which could be playing outside hanging in the house learning a new trick or going on a walk! 6:30pm is dinner time. Then rest again til 7pm then are doing the same thing as earlier til about 10pm when it’s bedtime! Pups are never outside alone I am always outside with them and will tailor the play groups to them weather that is no one or everyone I make the pups experience here is a happy one. I require all dogs in my care to have a collar with a tag of the owners info. When pups aren’t supervised they will be resting in there crate for safety. If we are on walks we are on a double leash system as one could always break!
About: I have been a pet owner since I brought my first dog home at 12yo and told my parents "they said we could keep her overnight to see if we liked her. We currently have three dogs, and my roommate has two. I truly believe that people don't deserve dogs, they are the best! I decided to take a break from working full time, and this is my only job right now. Coming from working 12 hours a days, I understand the guilt that goes along with that for pet parents. I'm happy to step in where you can't! I'm used to working with an array of dogs, big and small along with those that have special needs, like my own. I will take whatever precautions necessary, and follow all owner guidelines.
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life and view the human/animal relationship as a special and unique bond that isn’t even broken with death. Aside from having empathy for animals, I have experience training puppies and kittens. I also have taken care of senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. I work in McHenry county M-F and care for animals on the weekends and after work between 4-10pm. There are a lot of nearby parks and areas safe for dog walking by my house. I do not leave dogs alone in a crate when I am not home. Dogs are allowed to sleep on the bed or couch. The max amount of time I would ever leave the dog alone is 4-5 hours. I also do middle of the night potty breaks.
The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Crystal Lake is $21
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crystal Lake
Mary was simply amazing! She loved over both my babies, took them on walks, let me know when they used the bathroom and drank, sent many photos. Not only did she look over both dogs, but she also helped with my pup who is potty training. I would highly recommend Mary and will be requesting her help in the future.

We returned again to happy, well-cared for cats who clearly missed Maria's attention and affection. Some of my favourite photos of our kitties have been taken by Maria, she really sees their unique purrsonalities. One of them has special medical needs and we know he's in very good hands with Maria. Thank you again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
