“I chose pet sitter Michael W in New City NY to care for my cat this past weekend. He and his family provided an extraordinarily safe, comfortable, clean, calm, and accommodating setting within their luxurious spotless residence and property nestled within a quiet and exclusive neighborhood far from heavy traffic and any other threatening exposures. New City is well known for low crime and safety thanks to it's most reliable law enforcement and emergency services. My opinion is that I found the perfect match for any cat or dog and I will choose Michaei for my future pet boarding needs hands down.”

“My husband and i are so happy that we found Andrea, she loved and cared for Bronson like her own, her home was so warm, free and welcoming to our dog. It was Bronson’s first time staying with a sitter and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Andrea took him to the park and walked him daily, she also updated me on a consistent basis providing peace for me while on vacation. Her son and bronson were very good buddies, I would definitely recommend her home for your pet.”

“Stephanie has taken care of our dog Murphy on two occasions and both times have been positive. You can tell how happy he is to be there and how he is well cared for. It gives us great piece of mind when we are away.”

“Lulu loves staying with Samantha- she is treated like a queen!! Samantha sends pics throughout the stay and is always responsive. Lulu is always excited to have her sleepovers at Samantha’s.”

About: I’ve had a passion for dogs since I was young, and that love has only grown over the years. I recently spent a summer in Alaska working as a sled dog handler, caring for 35 Alaskan Huskies, which taught me so much about dedication, patience, and the unique personalities of dogs. Since then, I’ve had the joy of dog sitting all over the world, where I’ve used Rover all over, dog sitting in New Zealand, and most recently Austria for a year. I’ve gained experience with all kinds of breeds and temperaments. Whether it’s playing, going for a walk around the neighborhood, or just hanging out and giving some extra love, I’m always happy to spend quality time with dogs. I look forward to caring for your pup as if they were my own! I am currently free anytime of the day as I have plenty of time on my hands, especially on weekdays. I’m around anytime of the day through 2026. I do not have a fenced in yard so I could not bring dogs to my home if that matters. I am very active so I would be happy to take dogs on walks/runs as I spend a lot of my time outside.
“Kevin and his family were great dog sitters! They had our dog in their house for the weekend and she seemed to love it there. She had a chair she sat in, they took her on great walks and overall followed her routine. We would definitely use them again!”

About: What sets me apart is the care and attention I give to each dog like they’re part of my own family. I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and I truly see them as little babies who deserve the world. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I have two dogs of my own, so my day already revolves around walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of love. In my home, your dog will be treated like one of the family. I provide a calm, clean, and cozy space where they can relax and feel safe. Whether they love playtime, snuggles, or just a quiet spot to nap, I adjust to their needs and routine. I stick to their usual feeding and potty schedule, offer daily walks, and make sure they get plenty of love and attention throughout the day.
“As a pet sitter myself, I am quite picky about who I let care for my beloved pup. Crystal not only accommodated our last minute boarding request, but also welcomed us inside to make sure our dog felt comfortable and to answer our questions. She also provided daily updates and photos showing how content my dog was in her care. If we were local, we would 100% be regulars - that's how wonderful Crystal is! She exceeded expectations and has set a high bar for any future sitters. I cannot recommend her enough!”

“Eddy was great with Leo. Leo is an anxious dog but he seemed very at home when we first arrived for our one night test run. Eddy and his family’s vibe put him at ease. Am definitely booking him again for our longer vacation in August.”

“Sara and her home were the perfect fit for our anxious dog, Mazie. Sara is very knowledgeable about dogs, their behaviors, and how to handle them. She successfully gave Mazie medication 3 times a day and prepared special meals for her. We received photos via text while we were away showing how happy and acclimated Mazie was there. We have already booked another stay with Sara. Thank you Sara!!!”

“Irene took great care of my older dog for the long weekend. I got video and photo updates and she was very kind taking care of my dog that needs medication and more care.”
“Brenda was great w our two dogs. They boarded w her for almost a week, enjoyed lots of time together outside, sniffing, relaxing, having a great time. We received pics daily and our boys looked happy content throughout! Would use again.”

“Great host. Has an outdoor fenced in area, very easy to communicate with, no issues handling medications or other specific needs - all in all a great dog sitter. Thank you so much.”

“We are so happy to have found Erika! She takes great care of our 19lb doodle and sends lots of photos. She’s super easy to communicate with and is very personable as well.”

“Alexis was wonderful! This was my first time having Cooper boarded at someone’s house and she made him so welcomed and like one of her family. She sent photos and videos of him daily, he seemed to be having a great time each day. 100% will be using Alexis again and would recommend!”

“Nahomie did an incredible job taking care of Lucy while we were away for a week! Nahomie is so warm and caring, a great communicator and her house is impeccably clean and in a quiet area close to a nearby park. She made sure that Lucy had her daily walks, meals, medicines and supplements right on schedule. We could tell that Lucy was so well taken care of and happy—we couldn’t have done a better job ourselves! Regular pictures and detailed check-ins about their daily adventures also helped us feel reassured that Lucy was having the best time possible. Would definitely recommend and bring Lucy back to Nahomie for sitting again!”

“Yasmeen was great. She responded very quickly in such short notice and was very accommodating to my 1 year old Pittie Shadow. Yasmeen responded immediately to my messages and sent me photos and videos through out the night while he stayed over. She updated me with how he was doing and if there were any concerns. My puppy did very well with her. I would definitely recommend!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crompond
Hayden and Colin were incredible! The communication was excellent leading up to and during our dog’s stay. Our dog was so happy and calm throughout the stay and when she came home and it was clear that she got fabulous care. I appreciated the thoughtful meet and greet before and the wonderful care throughout. I can’t recommend Hayden enough!!!

As always, Natasha and Hamir treated Minnie like a member of their family. They kept me updated with photos, took her long walks, and were very responsive. Minnie always runs straight to their door when we drop her off, and is always happy and calm when we pick her up. It’s her second home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
