My husband and i are so happy that we found Andrea, she loved and cared for Bronson like her own, her home was so warm, free and welcoming to our dog. It was Bronson’s first time staying with a sitter and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Andrea took him to the park and walked him daily, she also updated me on a consistent basis providing peace for me while on vacation. Her son and bronson were very good buddies, I would definitely recommend her home for your pet.

First time boarding with Randi and it was an incredibly smooth experience. Randi is extremely flexible and was a life saver for when we were away on a multi city driving trip. We were watching the weather in case we needed to abandon our plans and come back home mid trip. Randi was extremely flexible and accommodating and I am so grateful for that. Our dog is a picky eater and is also on some tricky meds…and Randi kept in touch with regular updates. She persevered with attempts to get her to eat both food and meds, until our dog did finally start to eat! Our dog came home happy and healthy! We will definitely board with Randi again!

About: Hi My name is Stacy , I live in Cortlandt Manor and do pet sitting in Cortlandt Manor. Peekskill, Mohegan Lake, Croton, Yorktown, Putnum and Montrose. NOTE: I am now accepting drop in visits for walks or cat car on weekends and over the upcoming Memorial Day and summer holidays. I am also accepting boarding for small dogs for summer time. I was a dog owner for 25 years and now I have the joy of being a pet sitter for over 20 years in Westchester NY. I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. I have also completed my COVID vaccination and received my booster shot. I have 20+ years of experience sitting for large dogs, small dogs, puppies, older dogs and also lots of cats. I am also very comfortable giving pills to dogs and some shots with cats. During your pets visits your pet will stay safe and totally pampered. I take great pride in sending adorable pictures and notes to ensure the clients have real time updates on their pets status and can feel comfortable knowing their pet is in great care and happy while they are away. If you would like to set up a free meet and greet, please contact me. I am available for meet and greets on the weekdays after 5:00 pm and on weekends I am very flexible. I work remotely now and I am available for boarding during the week and weekends and can do drop in walks and visits both during the week and on weekends I require at least 72hrs notice for boarding. I only take in one pet at a time, so I can ensure they get my full attention and can feel comfortable and pampered in my home. I will walk dogs three times a day if needed and try to keep to their regular routines.

Laurie has to be the best sitter on this website! She sent me as many updates as i could ever hope for, and she was extremely attentive and loving to my dog. She genuinely loves animals and its very obvious! My dog is a shy and anxious girl and she surprised me with how fast she became comfortable with Laurie. My girl never ever lets people pet her and she actually let Laurie pet her, which to me is incredible. I highly recommend her. If you have any reservations at all about who to choose or have a pet that is older or scared of other people and animals, for sure choose Laurie!

Sara and her home were the perfect fit for our anxious dog, Mazie. Sara is very knowledgeable about dogs, their behaviors, and how to handle them. She successfully gave Mazie medication 3 times a day and prepared special meals for her. We received photos via text while we were away showing how happy and acclimated Mazie was there. We have already booked another stay with Sara. Thank you Sara!!!

Our flight was delayed by almost a full day and she was so understanding and very accommodating. Her communication was great and our dogs loved their time with her and we would definitely love to have her watch them again!

About: Looking for more than just a quick walk or a busy kennel? I provide personalized, one-on-one care tailored to your dog's personality, age, and energy level. Whether your dog enjoys a neighborhood walk, a wooded trail hike, a sniff walk, puzzle games, fetch, or simply relaxing with companionship, my goal is to make every visit enjoyable, enriching, and stress-free. I have over 14 years of hands-on experience with dogs, including supervising groups of up to 30 dogs in a professional dog daycare and caring for puppy groups under 4 months old. For more than five years, I also organized dog hikes throughout Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield County, CT, giving dogs a safe, structured, and fun way to exercise and explore. My experience is strongest with Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Doodles, Cavaliers, and other friendly companion breeds that thrive with individualized attention, exercise, enrichment, and companionship. While I welcome many different breeds, I always schedule a meet-and-greet first to make sure we're the right fit for each other. My own Golden Retriever, Kobi, was my best friend and adventure partner for over 12 years. Together we explored hiking trails, beaches, kayaking trips, road trips from Maine to Florida, and countless daily walks. He taught me that every dog is an individual with unique needs, and that is exactly how I care for every dog I meet. I believe many dogs are happier with personalized care than large-group environments. Over the years, I have learned to read canine body language, recognize stress signals, manage different personalities, and create a calm environment where dogs feel safe and comfortable. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, oral medications, and dogs that simply need extra patience and attention. My home has a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and is just a five-minute walk from beautiful wooded trails. I intentionally keep boarding and daycare small by accepting only one guest dog at a time, or two dogs from the same family, so every dog receives plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and individual attention. I also have a playpen available for puppies and young dogs who benefit from structured rest time. My apartment is on the second floor, so dogs should be be comfortable using stairs. While living in England, I helped care for a Golden Retriever, and later in Spain, I cared for a Yorkshire Terrier. These experiences, together with years of owning dogs, leading dog hikes, and working professionally in dog daycare, have given me experience with many different breeds, personalities, and energy levels. My approach combines practical experience with a calm, patient mindset. I am certified in Reiki and Emotion Code energy work and believe dogs thrive when they feel safe, understood, and respected. While every visit focuses first on your dog's physical needs, I also pay close attention to their emotional well-being. Services I offer: • Dog walking • Adventure walks and hikes (up to 2 hours) • 30-60 minute drop-in visits • Puppy visits and enrichment activities • Limited home daycare • Limited boarding for approved dogs For everyone's safety and comfort, I require a meet-and-greet before accepting new clients. I look forward to meeting you and giving your dog the same love, attention, and care that I gave my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am self-employed as a bookkeeper and real estate agent, which allows me to work primarily from home and maintain a flexible schedule. While I occasionally leave the house for appointments, errands, or property showings, I am able to plan my schedule around the needs of the pets in my care. This flexibility allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, exercise, playtime, companionship, and close supervision for dogs staying in my home. I provide a safe, calm, and personalized environment with plenty of individual attention. My home has a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, and I live just a 5-minute walk from wooded trails for walks and adventures. Dogs have access to a comfortable sofa, toys, and puzzle games for enrichment and mental stimulation. I live in a second-floor apartment, so dogs should be comfortable using stairs. I only accept 1 dogs at a time or 2 from the same family to ensure each dog receives plenty of supervision, exercise, and companionship.

We dropped off our Brittany Spaniel for a one night stay last minute, Rosemarie and her family were very accommodating and excellent sitters. Our dog doesn’t have a backyard so he was super excited to be able to run in their large fenced yard. We would absolutely use her again for boarding if back in the area.

Her husband was also very nice and they both seemed very confident and comfortable with my pup who’s a 48lb pittie. Thank you Sue and Franky. We appreciated your care and attention to our fur baby. Sue also sent regular selfies of the pup and was quick to reply to messages.

I can not say enough good things about Chloe!! This was our first time leaving Pinta since we adopted her, and I was anxious to say the least. Chloe made me feel completely at ease about leaving her. She was great with communicating how Pinta was doing and sent a lot of pictures of our girl having a blast. So thankful to have found a place that I'll feel comfortable leaving our Pinta girl!

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Amawalk

Frequently asked questions about Rover

There are 2,936 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Amawalk. About 91% of Amawalk sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
