I’ve always been an animal lover and have had a variety of pets including dogs, cats, snakes, bearded dragons, and leopard geckos. Up until two year’s ago, I’ve always had at least one dog in my home and am very familiar with senior dog care, including administering any medications needed. Because my school day starts and ends early, your pet will enjoy a consistent routine every single day. My mornings begin early, allowing plenty of time for a morning potty break or short walk before I head to school. I am out of the house during standard school hours, but because teachers get out earlier than standard corporate employees, I am back home by mid-afternoon around 3:30 pm. Once I am home, my evening belongs completely to your pet. The rest of my day is dedicated to long afternoon walks, playtime, and couch cuddles while I grade papers or prep lessons and play with my 6 year old son in our backyard. My weekends are completely free and dedicated entirely to pet care. Additionally, during school breaks (summer, spring break, and winter holidays), my availability opens up 24/7, making me a perfect match for your long-term vacation needs! As a school teacher and a parent to a gentle, animal-loving 6-year-old, our home runs on structure, kindness, and clear boundaries. We love hosting furry guests and treat them like members of our own family! Because of my background in education and parenting, safety is my absolute top priority. My 6-year-old has been thoroughly taught how to properly interact with dogs, respect their space, and read their body language. We practice "active supervision," meaning your pet and my child are never left unattended together. In the past 3 years we have lost both our dogs (2 large catahoula leopard dogs). My son grew up around them and has learned how to care for pets. We have missed having a dog in our house and are eager to care for tour dog and give them all the love. Your dog will get the best of both worlds here: an eager, fun playmate in my child, and a calm, reliable routine with me. After we all get home in the mid-afternoon, our evenings are filled with backyard play, neighborhood walks, and cozy family time. If your dog loves children, they will feel like they are at a premier vacation camp filled with affection and attention! To ensure every stay is stress-free, our home features a fenced yard, baby gates, and a dedicated pet room. If your dog ever needs a quiet break to eat or nap undisturbed, we have dedicated, child-free spaces set up just for them.
