“Alicia did a **fantastic job** watching Elkie while I was away for three weeks! She truly went above and beyond to make sure both Elkie and I were happy and comfortable. One thing I especially appreciated was how wonderful she was about communicating with me, especially with the time difference while I was traveling. She sent me **numerous pictures and updates**, and it was so reassuring to see how happy, relaxed, and well cared for Elkie was. Alicia even went the extra mile while she was busy and introduced Elkie to her parents’ dogs. They got along really well, which was so sweet to see! 🐾❤️ She was also so thoughtful about making sure **I was having a good time and not worrying about Elkie**, reminding me that she was in good hands. That meant so much to me and allowed me to truly enjoy my trip without worrying. I would **highly recommend Alicia** to anyone looking for a loving, responsible, and caring sitter. I would absolutely have her watch Elkie again. She was wonderful, and **Elkie is truly going to miss her!** ❤️🐶”

About: My preferred name is Artemisia (my legal name is Paola), and I’ll be your pet’s sitter and caretaker! I believe animals deserve the absolute best care, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I grew up with both cats and dogs and currently care for an adorable cat and two puppies, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and needs. I work from home, which means your pet will have lots of attention, care, and supervision throughout the day. I bring a calm, intuitive presence and really take the time to get to know each animal and what makes them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime and a little training, or would rather have a cozy day full of naps and cuddles, I tailor their care to what they enjoy most (usually a mix of both!). I live in a house with a large backyard, so there’s plenty of space to play and get outside. Whether you’re traveling, working, or simply need an extra hand, you can feel confident knowing your pet will be in a safe, loving, and attentive environment with someone who genuinely cares about making their time away from you as comfortable and happy as possible. I work from home, so your pet will have company and care throughout most of the day alongside my own pets. If your dog enjoys walks or outings like the beach, I’d love to include them with mine. Otherwise, they’ll be relaxing at home in a calm, attentive environment and won’t be left alone for more than about an hour (if they’re comfortable with short periods of alone time). I make sure my pets get a healthy balance of play, structure, and rest. With my dogs, I focus on plenty of playtime and ongoing training, which helps them burn energy and settle into naps while I work. My cat prefers a calmer routine and spends most of her day relaxing in her own space, but I always make time for snuggles and connection so she feels loved and secure. I’m very attentive to each pet’s needs and energy levels. If a dog becomes tired or overstimulated, I’m happy to crate them for a peaceful reset if that’s part of their routine. There is plenty of room in our house and yard to create separate spaces for pets to have their own areas (for sleep, food, play, etc.) if that is what they prefer. ❤️
“Angela was so amazing! She stayed with Murphy & was super attentive with walking and hanging out with him! She was on time & very communicative! She was so kind & respectful of our home, I felt so comfortable with her! Not only did Murphy love her, but I did as well! Highly recommend & we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Mari is awesome! She's so good with our lab, Mizuno. She's easy to talk to, give instructions... and most importantly she's incredibly sweet with Mizuno. I look forward to having her again!”

About: Hi! My name is Anastasiya and I’d love to look after your precious pet! I have experience looking after both cats and dogs of many sizes. I prioritize exploration and playtime with your fur baby. Routine is important, and special instructions will definitely be followed. Expect lots of photo updates, extra tail wags, and peace of mind! I have a flexible schedule for all hours of the week. My calendar is always kept up-to-date, so feel free to reach out with your dates or to request a meet-and-greet! I’ll make to sure to treat your baby as one of my own! A good walk, a full bowl of food and lots of cuddles is always my number one goal!
About: I have 10+ years of experience in dog care, including living with and being trusted to dog-sit one-on-one! I grew up with a three-legged Maltese who now lives with my Dad in Iowa, and spent time for my Mom’s 2 year old chihuahua while she was at work. I have also spent time caring for my Grandmother’s recently passed 20 year old poodle, and losing her was heartbreaking but I am glad I got to spend the time I did with her. I am a dog lover all around, and would love to give out some good scratches and be another friend to your dog while you are away! I typically work 8-4pm, so I would be available to provide overnight care. I am unfortunately unavailable to give midday potties, but am free to check on dogs who need a checkup if you are caught up at work. I make sure to give lots of love and attention through constant scratches (unless they don’t like to be scratched), and plenty of playtime to tire them out. I have found enrichment exercises such as puzzles or hiding a treat inside a Kong toy to be valuable activities.
“Jade took the time to get to know Nelli and asked all of the right questions to make sure she understood Nelli’s needs. I came home to a happy, healthy pup who had a great time while I was gone.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, as well as other animals like horses, otters, and seals! I love caring for and ensuring the well-being of all animals, regardless of size or breed. I am a marine biologist currently applying for graduate programs and have lots of availability! I spend lots of time working or walking which either cats or dogs would fit perfectly. I like to take notes and ask questions to ensure all logistics are taken care of when in a clients home. I prefer meet and greets prior to booking to make sure me and your fur baby are compatible as well as become familiar with the home.

I have owned and cared with many different types of dogs, but I have spent the most time with large breeds. I also have lots of experience bathing all sizes of dogs with different hair lengths, and clipping their nails! I’m comfortable caring for and handling young puppies, older dogs, high energy dogs, etc. I can also give medications and perform basic treatments if needed! I am also a certified AKC Evaluator and trainer and would love to discuss additional training options as well for those interested! My days are already filled with animals, so your fur friends will fit perfectly into my day! I am available M,T,Th,F after 3pm and anytime during the weekends! Your pup’s comfort, enjoyment, and safety are my top priorities, whether it be in your home, at the park, or out on a walk near your house!

“Sonia was fantastic with our dog. It was a huge comfort having someone who is so experienced with veterinary medicine taking care of our older frenchie with some health issues. Highly recommend”
“We are so grateful for Mallory. My 10 year old cockerspaniel gets separation anxiety and loved having Mallory's company. Mallory is patient, understanding and thorough. We already have her booked for a week long trip coming up. It's comforting knowing that my fur baby will be loved and cared for while we are away. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟”

Services Include: • Daily and overnight presence • Security and property checks • Mail and package collection • Plant care • Garbage and recycling management • Oversight and coordination of household and pet-care needs • Communication and coordination with service providers when needed • Monitoring of home systems and potential maintenance concerns • Careful stewardship of your home I specialize in extended house-sitting and pet-care assignments, accepting bookings of 30 to 130 days during the winter season. Clients choose me for my advanced behavioral expertise, decades of rescue and rehabilitation experience, exceptional communication, attentive home stewardship, and concierge-level service. Whether caring for a cherished companion, coordinating household needs, or maintaining a watchful presence over your property, my goal is to provide complete peace of mind, knowing both your pets and your home are in capable, caring hands. My day begins with a loving good-morning rub followed by a potty break, feeding, and exercise. Throughout the day, I incorporate walks, play, enrichment activities, affection, and regular outdoor breaks while maintaining your pet's normal routine. I enjoy ending each day with the attention most dogs love, whether that's a belly rub, cuddle time, or simply quiet companionship. I closely monitor behavior, energy levels, appetite, mobility, and daily habits so I can quickly recognize changes and respond appropriately. My flexible schedule allows me to prioritize the needs of your pet while maintaining a dependable, consistent presence. On a daily basis I maintain the cleanliness of pet-related areas, including food and water stations, entryways, and frequently used spaces. When a home has a pet door, I ensure the yard remains clean through daily waste removal. My goal is to provide an enriching environment where your pet feels secure, comfortable, and loved throughout your stay away from home. I provide a reliable daily and overnight presence, along with regular property walk-throughs. During severe weather, I perform additional inspections to identify potential concerns early and take appropriate preventative measures when possible. I maintain a calm, quiet environment that allows me to remain highly attuned to both your pet's well-being and any household conditions that may require attention. I am equally attentive to conditions on and around the property that could affect your home's safety and security. For example, during a recent house sit, I proactively cleared leaves and debris from nearby storm drains before heavy rain to help reduce the risk of localized flooding. Years of property stewardship have strengthened my ability to recognize developing issues and address them before they become larger concerns. Clients frequently share that they experience a genuine sense of peace and ease while away, knowing their pets and home are being cared for with exceptional attention, responsibility, and respect. They appreciate the strong bonds I develop with their pets and the clean, thoughtfully cared for home they come back to. Upon request, I can stock a reasonable number of essential grocery items prior to your return, helping ensure a comfortable and seamless homecoming.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Creekside
Colleen did a wonderful job taking care of both our dog and our house during our weekend away. When we met her the week before our trip it was clear that she loves pets and they love her too. She was a great communicator and left our house and our guest room neat and clean. We felt very comfortable having her stay at our home and taking care of our dog. We will definitely be using her services again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Creekside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Creekside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Creekside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
