“Virginia was prompt on check in times for our kitty, followed all instructions, and She sent pictures each visit. She also communicated very well with us on what was going on with our little one.”

“Jordan went above and beyond to make our cats and parrots comfortable. It was such a relief to know someone was looking in on them and giving them some attention while we were gone!”

“Mia was absolutely great! We will absolutely be using her again in the future. She was always on time and if anything changed she communicated that to us. She followed all the directions that we left for her. She spent a lot of time with beans and also sent us very cute videos and pictures”

“Kellie did an amazing job on the drop-in visits with our two cats! I love my girls very much, so having someone trustworthy to check in on them while we were out of town meant a lot to me. It made my entire night getting back to the hotel on our wedding night to see the sweet updates they wrote about them both! Fell asleep with an even bigger smile on my face than I already had! Thanks so much for taking care of our babies! Would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. :)”

“Amiah was very friendly, communicated with me during each visit, and took wonderful care of my dog! She sent pictures, played with him, and gave him his medication at the requested times! My dog got a small cut prior to Amiah taking care of him and she ensured that it stayed clean while we were gone. I highly recommend Amiah and will definitely be asking her to care for my dog in the future.”
“Kellie was absolutely phenomenal. The moment Kellie came over to meet my pets, a good two weeks before my travel, I knew my fur babies would be in trustworthy, caring and knowledgeable hands. Kellie made sure she understood the needs of both my animals and understood what was needed to make sure they felt safe and loved in my absence. Kelli checked in with me multiples times a day, letting me know what was going on. She also went above and beyond what was required of her, from making sure my garbage cans were on the curb for pick-up day to watering my plants. If you are on the fence with using Rover to care for your pets while you are traveling or at work, I get it. I was too, but rest assured that will Kellie your cherished fur babies are safe and taken care of, and your home is not at risk.”

About: I'm a veterinary technician, I have 20 yrs experience in taking care of dogs and cats. I am CPR certified and I can administer medications if needed. Besides my medical background as a animal lover, I can offer great companionship to your best friend while your gone. I currently have a 7 month old Australian shepherd who loves to play and can also offer friendship. I've been taking care of my friends and family's pets while they go on vacation since I was 19 yrs old. I'm confident in my ability to take care of dogs. I'm currently not working and staying home with our kids and animals. I walk our dog in the morning then hang out the rest of the day, my kids play with our dog. I live on 5 acres but we have fenced off an area behind our house for our dog and goats. I have a plastic kid pool to help them stay cool in the summer. I typically feed my pets twice a day and a treat mid-day. My house can get pretty loud with my kids yell and screaming when then play. My kids are 10 yr (son) and 9 yrs(daughter) old, I have a husband who loves to play with the kids and dog, it can get a little crazy at our house. I also have a 7 month old mini Australian shepherd, she is a shy girl at first but then gets crazy when she decides she likes you. I have 5 cats some like dogs and some tolerate them and just judge. I also have 2 goats in the backyard, they are very nice but will give a warning if something happens that they don't like. All my pets have vaccines and have been dewormed.
About: I have grown up having dogs my entire life. I have two family dogs named Comet who is 15 years old and Lucy who is 8 years old. I love my dogs and have taken great care of them. I also regularly walked a dog named Lucy (different from my family’s dog Lucy) twice a week for a year while in college along with many other walks, drop-in visits, or sitting opportunities over the past six years. I enjoy walking, sitting, and doing drop-in visits for dogs. They bring me great joy, have such fun personalities, and get me outside for some exercise and fresh air. I am a social worker who is currently working on transferring licenses from states. With that said, I am currently very flexible with my schedule. I will always prioritize your pet’s needs. I usually like to see what the dog is doing in their own space or in a new space like my house so I can learn their preferences. I am always in the same room as the dog and never leave them on their own. My house is very clean and organized. There is plenty of living room and bedrooms space for them to roam around.
“Lorena is the best!!!! She took such great care of our two cats and really got to know each of their personalities. Would absolutely recommend asking her to care for your pets!!!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life and caring for pets has always come naturally to me. I’ve volunteered with animal shelters and ranches, gaining hands-on experience with pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve also trained dogs in the past, working on basic obedience and positive reinforcement. I’m comfortable administering medications to both cats and dogs and always prioritize safety, patience, and love. Your pet will be cared for as if they were my own. I work from home and always make time for my fur babies, whether I set aside time to play or just sit out in the sun with them in our yard. I have a fenced yard and a dog who will keep your dog company. She’s also cat friendly since we have 4 cats of our own. Cats are used to fosters as well!
About: Hi! I love meeting new animals and getting to know their unique personalities. Every pet is different, and I enjoy learning what makes each one feel comfortable, happy, and safe. For the past three years I’ve been actively working on training my own dog, which has helped me learn a lot about patience, communication, and understanding animal behavior. That experience has made me even more passionate about caring for animals and helping them feel supported in new environments. I love helping animals and figuring out what works best for them—whether that’s playtime, a relaxing walk, or just a calm place to rest. My goal is always to make pets feel secure and cared for while their owners are away. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to give pets lots of attention throughout the day. I’m available most weekdays and weekends and can accommodate regular walks, drop-ins, or sitting. I always aim to follow your pet’s normal routine and provide updates during visits. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I take time to understand each animal’s routine and personality so they feel secure and relaxed. I use safe handling practices, supervise pets closely, and maintain a calm environment. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
