“Erin was amazing to hire for our two cats. I know they were happy and well cared for! As for going the extra mile; there was a wind storm while we were gone, some things blew all over the yard. Erin was kind enough to pick up, so we didn't lose our kid's toys. Will definitely use her again when needed!”

“Tara is amazing…. I travel for work and usually can get drop ins planned in time, but often I have to leave last minute for the day and Tara is always so responsive and helpful. She has been dropping in on my baby Dean since he was a puppy and I never have a doubt my baby is taken care of when I’m away. THANK YOU TARA!!”

“First time using Rover. Christina was very kind, always on time and took great care of our two cats while we were away. Communication was excellent! We loved getting pictures of our kitties each day. Everything went perfectly in my opinion and we”ll definitely reach out to her again when we need a pet sitter. Thank you again Christina!”

“Rachel was amazing with our babies. She played with them and checked to make sure I gave them breakfast. She took awesome pictures and treated our babies exactly how we expect people to treat them. Will definitely be using her again.”

“Katherine was so professional, kind, and communicative! She came by super early in the morning to make sure our girl got her breakfast. It made my vacation so much better knowing our sweet kitty had a friend while we were gone! We will definitely be booking her again!”

About: I’m a dog mom of 2 and former cat mom who has a full time job but needed more pet love in my life! I love long walks and fetch but also cuddling on the couch. I am a go-to pet sitter for friends and would love to meet your pets! I have a full time job and use the weekends for walking and taking care of pets. Some days I’m lucky to work from home so I like to fit in some walks or cuddles then too! I have a fenced yard in a safe neighborhood with 2 friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I own my home so if it gets hairy, no problem :-)
About: I have volunteered and fostered dogs for a few years. I have three pups of my own and am excited to start a new journey of caring for dogs when their people need. Currently a part time nanny after teaching for six years, so I have plenty of time to play and walk with your pets! Drop off and pick up times unavailable: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30am-1:30pm Townhome isn't an option to pick, but it's a decent sized townhome and I own it! Community is not like an apartment complex! I have three sweet dogs to play with yours if they need a buddy. They are also not allowed upstairs, in case you have a senior dog or a dog who needs peace, your pup can have space to themselves. We have a community dog park if you're willing to let them use this (usually kept and empty). I also give lots of walks and snuggles! I am good with following a feeding and medication schedule. In the summer, we put up our temporary fence to allow for outdoor pool time!

“Danielle did amazing! She was super sweet and asked lots of questions at the meet and greet with pups prior to the booking. She took great care of our dogs and posted pictures every time she visited them. Would highly recommend!”

About: I've had a passion for animal care for as long as I can remember. Since adopting my dog four years ago, I've developed an even deeper love for the study of animal behavior. Does your dog get into trouble while you're away? They could likely benefit from some more mental enrichment! Sometimes just a walk around the block isn't sufficient to keep your dog mentally satisfied during the day. I ensure each visit is fulfilling by incorporating sniffy walks, puzzles, games, playtime, and your dog's favorite activities. I'm in college part-time and my other job is very flexible, so my schedule is very open. Towards the end of August is when my classes start on Mondays and Wednesdays. Other than those days, I'll have open availability for the foreseeable future. • Dogs must have a sturdy harness or collar. I do not walk dogs on aversive equipment (prong collars, choke collars, shock/e-collars.) • I use standard non-retractable leashes for safety. 6ft-20ft long depending on the needs of the dog.
“Doug was great; he went above and beyond what was expected. There is some sibling rivalry between my two cats and he made sure both of them had a chance to eat by sticking around and feeding them in separate rooms if need be. He also kept an eye on the house, and kept me informed of any suspicious activity in the neighborhood, made sure our windows were locked, took out the trash, etc. He was very communicative and responsive. This definitely made me feel more at ease during our trip. When the Microsoft crash shut all the airlines down, he reached out to see if our flight was affected and said he could keep feeding the cats if needed. I would highly recommend Doug for other pet owners, and would definitely use his services again in the future.”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of dogs for 50 years. I’ve taken care of up to seven dogs at once. I’ve had big and small dogs. All my dogs are adopted and some have had special needs. I’m retired, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups. I’m currently available to watch or board all week. I love taking dogs for walks. I have a fenced yard. Currently I don’t have any dogs but occasionally I watch my daughters dog. Even though I don’t have dogs I make sure all gates are closed and secured.

About: I am in the vet program at a local college and have worked with animals in school; Including dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, and guinea pigs. I love taking care of animals and don’t care about messes or sick. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter and have learned basic care. I’ve always had large dogs and currently have 2 dogs: a large and a small dog. I have classes Monday-Thursday and Fri-Sunday I am free all day. I just need a few days notice to make sure I stay free to take care of your pets! I love to go on walks and so your dogs will get exercised! I will take them out regularly and do not mind cleaning up messes or sick.

About: I am a Veterinary student at a local college. I have raised dogs and cats growing up. I do kennel work for shelters, and I am starting clinicals for school this summer to give me even more hands-on experience with the animals. I had a business in my old hometown, and I have references for pet sitting of different species (guinea pigs, fish, cats, & dogs, to highlight a few.) I currently work full time hours in a café, but would like to shift towards being able to do more things related to my future career instead. This will give me a great opportunity to do that. I’m usually off work by 1-2pm, 4pm at the latest, which still gives me lots of time in the day to hang out with your beloved pets!! I treat every animal big or small like a member of the family, and with the care that they deserve. I can easily crate a dog or cat if necessary, but prefer taking the approach of giving them freedom to go where they please, (with supervision, of course!)
About: 5+ yrs of volunteer experience at local humane society shelters caring for many animals with different needs. Looking forward to extending my care to your furbabies! I work from home and can commit to quality attention and care required while you're away. I am available most evenings and flexible Thursday- Saturdays. I always double check the care instructions and will ensure they are taken care of to stick to their regular routines. You can expect a care card through Rover for each visit with a picture as well.
About: I’m a Gallatin local with three dogs of my own, so I know what it’s like to hand over your pet to someone else, you want to know they’re actually going to get attention, not just be tolerated until you’re back. On walks and visits, I stick to your dog’s routine, not mine, feeding times, potty schedule, medication, all of it. You’ll get photo updates so you’re not left wondering how things are going. I have a fenced yard at home for boarding stays, and I treat every dog in my care the way I’d want mine treated. I work a flexible day job, so I have real availability for walks, drop-ins, and boarding — not just squeezed-in gaps. I currently work full-time during the day; but my job can be flexible leaving room to care for your babies whenever my services are needed. Caring for pets in my home involves creating a warm and welcoming environment tailored to each pet’s needs. I prioritize comfort and safety by providing a designated space where they can relax and feel secure. Daily routines include regular feeding, playtime, and exercise, ensuring they stay active and engaged. I also offer personalized attention, whether it’s cuddling, training, or interactive games. Maintaining a clean and organized space is essential, so I ensure all areas are tidy, litter boxes are clean, and fresh water is always available. With my experience, I monitor their health and behavior closely, providing updates to owners and ensuring their pets receive the love and care they deserve while away from home. Caring for pets in clients’ homes involves several key practices: 1. Routine Maintenance: I follow the established daily routines for feeding, walking, and playtime to ensure pets feel secure and comfortable. 2. Personalized Attention: I take time to engage with each pet, offering companionship and activities tailored to their preferences, whether it’s playtime, cuddling, or training exercises. 3. Health Monitoring: I keep an eye on each pet’s health and behavior, promptly noting any changes and ensuring any medications are administered as needed. 4. Safety First: I ensure the environment is safe by keeping hazardous items out of reach and supervising pets during playtime. 5. Regular Updates: I provide pet owners with regular updates, including photos and messages, to keep them informed and reassured while they’re away. 6. Clean Environment: I maintain a clean space by tidying up after the pets, ensuring litter boxes are cleaned, and fresh water is always available. These practices help create a loving, safe, and familiar environment for pets while their owners are away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
