“Melissa was wonderful and communicated if there was any questions or concerns that she deemed important. Dexter was well taken care of and he he seemed to have like her conpany.”

“Erin was amazing to hire for our two cats. I know they were happy and well cared for! As for going the extra mile; there was a wind storm while we were gone, some things blew all over the yard. Erin was kind enough to pick up, so we didn't lose our kid's toys. Will definitely use her again when needed!”

“I really can’t say enough about Katherine! We’re really careful with our bunny, Basil, and Katherine always takes such good care of her. We can tell Basil really loves her and feels safe with her, and Katherine has always been so kind, trustworthy, and dependable! If you book with her you’ll have peace of mind. We’re grateful for her!”

“Rachael is very happy and works hard. She listens to the information she’s given at meet and greets. She doesn’t need her hand held; she just loves on your pets and does what’s asked of her. Will definitely use again! This time was for a drop in to let out and love on my Daisy a bit.”

“Anita was fantastic! She was super thorough with her check-ins with sending updates, videos, and photos. Our two cats were very well taken care of and we felt at ease knowing they were in good hands with Anita. We will definitely be using her again soon!”

“Amber looked after our critters while we were gone for the week and took great care of them. She was very attentive when our cat got an upset stomach while we were away and cuddled with our little dog who was anxious during a storm. She was great about keeping us updated every time she checked on them. Highly recommend Amber to watch after your pets!”

“She took such good care of my baby boy. Marshall is a very nervous and timid dog, so I knew he would probably be very scared when she came in to let him out, but she took the time to just sit with him and see that he was comfortable before taking him outside. Will definitely use her again!”

“Danielle did amazing! She was super sweet and asked lots of questions at the meet and greet with pups prior to the booking. She took great care of our dogs and posted pictures every time she visited them. Would highly recommend!”

“Kayla is great. We had a last minute change in our schedule and she was able to pop in to play with the puppies taking a lot of stress off us for the day. She is so good with our babies!!”

“Doug was great; he went above and beyond what was expected. There is some sibling rivalry between my two cats and he made sure both of them had a chance to eat by sticking around and feeding them in separate rooms if need be. He also kept an eye on the house, and kept me informed of any suspicious activity in the neighborhood, made sure our windows were locked, took out the trash, etc. He was very communicative and responsive. This definitely made me feel more at ease during our trip. When the Microsoft crash shut all the airlines down, he reached out to see if our flight was affected and said he could keep feeding the cats if needed. I would highly recommend Doug for other pet owners, and would definitely use his services again in the future.”

About: I am the youngest of 4 girls and we always got the same pets together. But for some reason, my pets always lived the longest! I like to think its because I took the time to train, play and love on my pets. When my family got our first dog, Kovu, I quickly became his best friend (after my dad, of course). I trained him on how to sit, down, shake, spin and roll over. We got a second dog, Hercules, who I taught all those tricks to as well as beg! I also taught Kovu how to retrieve their dog bowls for dinner and to help carry bags of trash to the trashcan or groceries to the house. I have experience with anxious dogs from a family dog and my former roommate’s dog who was very skiddish. My Husband and I rescued two dogs, Jax and Milo. They too, know all the tricks I taught my family dogs. I also did a 6-week training program with Jax to address his behavioral issues so I have some experience training a dog with destructive behavior, the tendency to run out the door and handling a mildly reactive dog. Jax and Milo have learned to be great around our baby and love him! I’m a full time mom to a little one so as long as your pets are friendly with children, I can do drop ins, walks and dogsit as long as the dogsitting does not require me to stay overnight. If you have a fenced yard, I’ll make sure to get them plenty outside time for play. If not, I’m happy to take them for walks. I’ll make sure to clean up after them so your home stays nice and tidy while you are away.
About: I have taking care of dogs and cats since I have been able to walk. I have worked at numerous vet’s offices as Kennel Assistants and have always had a cat or dog myself that I have taken care of and consider them my “fur-children”. I love all cats and dogs and would love to take care of you baby and treat them as my own! I’m available most mornings and evenings to take care of your fur-baby! I can help with walks during the day if planned in advance as well. I have a small backyard (not fenced) but am willing to take your animals around for a good long walk in the morning and the evenings as well. I have dog crates available for the dogs to be crated during the day (to board at my house they must be crate trained and be willing to stay in the crate when I am not home). I work only 10 minutes away from my house so I can make as many trips home to give them time out of the crate during the day as needed! I also have a spare room that could be used for the cat or dog to have their own closed in space if needed! I also have plenty of dog beds, blankets, dog toys, cat beds, a cat tower looking outside at a bird feeder for activity, and cat toys for them to play with! I also keep an extra couple of litter boxes handy, in addition to my LitterRobot for cats!
“Hope is amazing!! Had a long work day and so she came for a drop in. Sat outside with them and sent pictures with their report card explaining how they did and followed all the instructions! So glad we found someone reliable to look after the babies when we need to be gone for long hours!!”

“Cassie was incredibly responsive, helpful, and communicative. On top of that, our kitty loved her, and she took great pictures that helped us feel connected while we were away.”

Katherine was incredible! My husband and I needed someone fairly last minute and Katherine responded immediately. She kept us updated, sent pictures and took extremely good care of our anxious pup and three cats. My husband and I were both very happy and we will definitely reach out to her in the future 😊

Matt looked after my cat, Murphy, while I was away for two weeks, and I couldn’t have asked for better care! Communication was great, I received regular updates with photos and detailed notes that gave me peace of mind that Murphy was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Matt and would book with him again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
