“Yuiko and her family are always great! We leave our little Kiwi on every trip. Took amazing care of my anxious and anti-social Chihuahua. I highly recommend Yuiko and will continue to use her services in the future!”

“Allison and Kevin were so wonderful. This was the first time Zoey spent time away from family and she was so happy and comfortable at their home. Made me feel so happy even though I was away from my puppy.”

“Mary was great! We especially enjoyed all of the pictures she sent while we were away, the communication was wonderful. We will definitely be booking with Mary again.”

“Amy was fantastic - we instantly felt comfortable with her husband and her (and, more importantly, so did the dog!). She was very detail oriented, sent pictures throughout Champ's short stay and made sure Champ got plenty of exercise. I also appreciated her policy not to take multiple dogs at once. We will definitely be repeating with Amy - the whole experience was great!”

“We are really happy with Emelie’s services and communication with us during our dog’s stay. We appreciated a flexible pick up time when we were slightly delayed getting back into town. Highly recommend!”

“Katie, and her family, were so great to Max! Their place is great, they have a fenced in yard, but it was much more about the warmth they showed. Would absolutely recommend and plan to use again.”

“SIQI was the best dog sitter we have ever had for our 2 medium to large dogs. She was extremely responsive and very kind. She had dogs before and knows how to care for dogs really well. She went above and beyond for our girls. One of our girls nails chipped and she quickly sent a picture and followed up with what she did. We are looking forward to having her care for our girls in the future!”

About: I’ve always been an animal person and have experience caring for a variety of pets. I also previously worked at a pet hospital, where I helped care for animals and became comfortable handling pets with different personalities, needs, and comfort levels. I’m attentive to the little things and want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. I have plenty of time to give pets attention, playtime, walks, meals, and companionship without rushing. I genuinely love animals and enjoy having them around, so caring for pets feels like something I naturally make time for every day. It really depends on the pet and the service. I like to stick to their normal routine as much as I can and give them whatever they need, whether that’s walks, playtime, meals, cuddles, or just someone around. I’m home most of the day, so I have plenty of time to give them attention and make sure they’re comfortable.
“Rhea was absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend enough. Great communication and really good questions when any issues came up. I will be using them again for sure”

“Alyssa took such good care of Charlie! She provided him a safe environment where it was clear that he was very comfortable - so much so that he didn't want to leave! I am grateful for her excellent care and superb communication. Charlie is asking when he can go back!”

About: I have absolutely loved all animals all my life! I currently have a one year old lab mix. He is a fun and energetic pup who loves all other dogs he meets. He is a great play mate. I currently live in a pet friendly apartment with a small dog park and neighborhoods for walks. I currently work from home so I am able to hangout with your pup all day! I am a nurse working remotely, so I am home every day and can hangout with your pup! My dog is very energetic and loves walks and playtime, so your pup will get plenty of exercise if that’s what they want! We also allow pets on furniture and have big dog beds for the pups who prefer to relax 😊 I live in a two bedroom apartment that has easy access to grass, a dog park, and neighborhoods to go on walks. Since I work from home I can take dogs out as much as needed.
“I boarded my dog for a few days with Ann. She was a great communicator and took good care of my pup. Izzy got lots to attention and enjoyed the fenced in yard. Definitely recommend and will use again.”

“We recently brought our dog Ollie to Ena and Dan to stay overnight 2 days. We were super worried as Ollie is the most shy dog we have ever met. He is very attached to us and never has taken to anyone else despite our many attempts to get him to do so. We were very nervous when we dropped him off, but Ena was great at sending us updates and photos so that we could feel better, especially when we saw how well he was bonding with Ena, Dan and their dog! By day 2 he was cuddling with them, sleeping in bed with them and running around the dog park with them and having a blast. We felt totally at ease. We plan to continue using Ena and Dan for all future trips as they truly treated Ollie like their own dog and made us feel comfortable with tons of thoughtful updates. Couldnt recommend her enough!”

“Bear and Bailee had another GREAT 😊 stay with Julianna!!! They were with her for 4 nights and she took really good care of them. I felt entirely comfortable leaving them with her! My pups can be a bit clingy at time and my Bear-Bear can be a little moody and he had a great time with her mom 😊. I am so grateful to have found Julianna. ♥️”

“Yuhan was amazing in caring for Daisy. We were very pleased! It was our first time boarding Daisy, and our anxiety was immediately put to rest the first day with pictures and updates from Yuhan that we received throughout her 5-day stay. Daisy did so well in Yuhan's care. We have found a permanent sitter to book for the future.”

“We left Sunny with Kristin for the first time for 5 days/nights, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Kristin was incredibly caring and attentive to Sunny’s individual needs, and it was clear that she genuinely wanted to make her feel comfortable and at home. Kristin truly went above and beyond to make sure Sunny had everything she needed and received plenty of care and attention. We would absolutely trust Kristin with Sunny again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable, and loving dog sitter!”

“Nicolle, care and pictures of my dog Spot made my stay away from him enjoyable. First time we were separated a long period of time. Will gladly as for Nicolle again. Will gladly recommend Rover to family and friends. My daughter n law recommended, glad she did. Gave tip directly to Nicolle when picked up Spot. Didn't know to use system.”

“David was fantastic and we even extended needed to extend our stay due to flight delays! He was super flexible. Our Coco had the best time! We definitely hope to use David again. I would absolutely recommend him to friends and family. Thank you!”

About: We have a sweet senior dog of our own, Bo, and dogs have been part of our family life for many years. I’m not looking to run a high-volume boarding business — I simply enjoy having dogs around and would love to occasionally welcome one compatible small dog into our home. Our guest would live with us as part of the family, with plenty of attention, affection, walks, and a calm home environment. Because Bo is a senior, I’m especially comfortable with the routines and patience that older dogs sometimes need. I’m deliberately selective and would only take one visiting dog at a time so that everyone is comfortable and gets plenty of individual attention. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so dogs are rarely left alone for long. I already plan my day around my senior dog, Bo, and would simply include one visiting dog in our normal routine of walks, yard time, meals, relaxing at home, and plenty of attention. I am the sole caretaker for Rover bookings. I have a quiet home with a fenced yard and only accept one small visiting dog at a time. My own dog, Bo, is a senior, so a meet-and-greet is important to make sure the dogs are comfortable together. Visiting dogs stay in my home as part of the household, and I personally handle their feeding, walking, medication, and sleeping routines as closely as possible. I am the sole caretaker for Rover bookings.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Connaughtown
Ryan and his family took excellent care of Lina for the 11 days I was out of the country. I appreciated their willingness to arrange a meet-up prior to the booking as well as their communication throughout the stay (including regular photo updates). I felt very much at ease, knowing that Lina was in good hands and enjoying time on walks and outings, receiving lots of attention (including from the kids), and cuddling at home. Ryan clearly familiarized himself with Lina's care instructions in advance, and he had Lina's things packed and ready for pick-up. I would not hesitate to book Ryan as a sitter in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Ena & Daniel. They watched our sweet pup while we went on a 5 day trip. It was our first time leaving our girl with a sitter. From the moment we connected, Ena & Daniel were super communicative. We met for a meet & greet and our pup and their Lucy hit it off. During our trip we received video and picture updates which helped ease any worries we had about leaving her. Our girl had a smile on her face and seemed to love her time with them. We also received message updates regarding how well she slept, ate, and was behaving- all of which we appreciated. Overall it was a great experience and we will be reaching out to Ena & Daniel again when we travel or need help. Thank you Ena & Daniel- we recommend you to anyone that is looking for a safe, welcoming, kind place for their dog to stay.

Rachel is the absolute BEST. Our dog loves her. She sends incredible updates and she is so kind. Our pup had a bellyache going into a 10 day trip overseas and I was very stressed about leaving him. Rachel assured me he would be fine and went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of and provided updates on his status. She is honestly incredible.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Connaughtown home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Connaughtown.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Connaughtown sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
