“Wonderful with both of our dogs. Our standard poodle loves her longer walk. Our 15 year old miniature poodle who has vision problems loves his walks as well as the pickup and carry around. Paul is also excellent with his eye medication.”

“Mackenzie was great! She did a stop in visit to feed my three cats and went above and beyond. Not only did she send plenty of photos, she also took a quick look at the litter boxes. Would go with again!”

About: I grew up with dogs, all my life and know how to take care of them and look after them and give them the care and love they need. I am looking for side hustles to make a bit of extra cash, so I am free throughout the week whenever you need a dog sitter or walker. In my house I always make sure that my dogs have fresh, clean and cold water to drink. I always take them on frequent walks in bathroom breaks.
“Riley is great. She's communicative, responsible and thoughtful. We really appreciated that she gave us updates on what she did with our dog during her visits. We totally recommend Riley!”

“Amanda is an incredibly caring, considerate and wonderful sitter! She is so attentive to my 2 labs and she even brings them treats and works on training with them! I trust her whole-heartedly and am very thankful to have connected with her! She is the best sitter I have ever worked with and will make your fur babies a priority! Amanda is also extremely talented with animals and is excellent at communicating and very respectful. I truly love working with her🥰”

I bring calm, structure, and authenticity to every visit! I am currently a graduate student pursuing mental health counseling, so I am able to care for your pets in between classes and during breaks! I care deeply about animals and love to work toward making pets feel safe and comfortable.

“The walks, games, affection and other quality time that Meghan gives our dog “Daisy” and cat “Archie” are outstanding. It is such a relief, for my wife and I to go somewhere and be assured our pets are safe and happy. We could not be more satisfied with her services!!! Tom and Sue S.”

“Heather did a wonderful job dropping in to help with my two cats while I was on vacation. She came over for a meet and greet beforehand to understand their needs and was even willing to put some jelly in my Oriole feeder during the week. She is reliable and trustworthy and I will definitely have her come over again!”

“Madeline has helped out with Cleo twice now. She has been amazing taking great care of her and taking her on walks and sending lots of photos of her! She truly does a great job!”

About: I have had pets my entire life. At this time, I am petless, so I would love to love on your pets. Family and friends have relied on me to watch, walk, and play with their furry friends. I and my husband are retired so we have a lot of time to spend with your dog and will walk them a few times a day and play with them. They will always have someone with them. I take younger dogs for a morning, afternoon and night walk. I adjust the number of walks and distance if they are older dogs. I also play with them. They can sleep on the bed and furniture.
“Allison was an amazing sitter for our four cats — Stanley, Pebbles, Murphy, and Harley. Stanley is a full-time attention hog, but Allison made sure everyone got their cuddles and pets during each visit. She also flawlessly handled Stanley’s nightly oral medication (6/6 successful doses 👏), which is no small feat. All cats are on various different prescription foods, and she fed them perfectly, kept water bowls full, and made sure dry food was always available. We loved the detailed Rover report cards and all the photos — it was clear she spent the full hour with them, just as requested. I know we are coming home to happy, well-cared-for cats and total peace of mind. She also brought all our packages into the house, which is a bonus.”

“Aidan always takes the best care of our pups while we are away!! Very attentive, excellent communication, so helpful. Would absolutely recommend and plan to use again when needed.”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember! Growing up with both dogs and cats, I was the pet caretaker in my family—handling daily walks, feeding, playtime, and cuddles. Those early experiences sparked a love of caring for animals. For the past 4 years, I've been dog walking and pet sitting for a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether your pet loves long walks, belly rubs, or playing fetch, I'm happy to match their energy and routine. I am available for drop in visits/walks in mornings before I go to work and am available anytime after 3pm in the evenings. On the weekends I am available all day. My goal is to make pet care as convenient for both you and your animals! I understand how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I am committed to providing a safe and secure environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. If your pet has specific needs, routines, or accommodations, I am happy to make adjustments in my care routine to ensure they feel comfortable. I make sure every pet gets the walks, playtime, supervision, and companionship they need each day.
“Fantastic sitter! She was available on short notice and managed to make it over to walk our dogs despite some things that came up for her personally. Very professional and kept us well informed of what was going on with the pups while she was over. I would recommend her to anyone!”
About: I grew up with dogs and cats, amongst another furry friends. I currently live on a mini farm and have 3 dogs, 2 cats and chickens and ducks! I am no stranger to animals to say the least. I believe in caring for animals as they should be and also be considerate of any needs. I will meet them where they are at. Right now, I am working 2nd/3rd shift so have my mornings free to do a let out and or walk. Once June 1st hits I will be available to do all day. My yard is fenced in right now which adds a level of security for my own dogs. I will adhere to client wishes for proper care for their dogs. For example, if they wish for me to use a leash while outside with the dog I will do so.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals from a very young age and have been dog sitting since I was 15. Growing up I had the sweetest golden doodle named Angel who was my best friend and inspired me to start petsitting! I work as a special education para during the school year and am looking for summer work. I have availability overall full-time throughout June to August! I love to hang out with them and give them lots of pets as well as take them wherever I go as long as I am able to! If I need to check out from sitting for a bit for any reason, I make sure to leave them at home with some toys and leave them with a treat!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Colgate. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
