John is an excellent dog walker and care taker! Having someone come by my place that I trust is a huge relief. Even in warmer weather Benny still got outside and got great exercise. Thanks so much John!

About: I have had a love for animals since I was a little girl. I started watching dogs when I was 16 years old and never stopped ❤️ I love cats too ❤️ I'll even watch your plants too 😏💚🪴 I am: -Loving -Reliable -Intentional -Trustworthy I work a full time job in East Syracuse, Monday through Friday. During the holidays, we do get busier, so my time will be less available for pet sitting. This does not take away from the care and love I will give your fur baby. Any type of breaks I get, before and after work, I am there for your animals ❤️ Safety is my top priority when it comes to watching your animals. You will never have to worry about your fur babies when I'm around. I'm a very good communicator and will call/text if there is a concern that I have 🐾❤️

About: With 6 years of dedicated experience in pet care, I provide a comprehensive and compassionate service tailored to the unique needs of each animal. My expertise extends beyond basic care to include specialized skills such as positive reinforcement-based puppy training, helping to establish good habits from an early age. I also have a deep understanding of senior dog care, including administering medication, providing gentle exercise, and creating a comfortable, low-stress environment. I have experience managing a variety of medical conditions, ensuring your furry family member is safe and well-cared for at all times. My goal is to be a trusted partner in your pet's health and happiness, providing peace of mind while you're away. Each morning starts with feeding, watering, and a potty break for the pets in my care. This is followed by a morning walk or playtime to get their energy out and start the day on a positive note. Throughout the day, I follow individual schedules, which might include specific feeding times for puppies or senior dogs, medication administration, or scheduled walks and potty breaks. The afternoon often includes another round of playtime or enrichment activities, such as puzzle feeders or training sessions, to keep their minds engaged. Evenings are typically quieter, with a final feeding and potty break before a relaxing wind-down. My weekly routine involves a bit more planning. I coordinate with pet owners to schedule walks, check-ins, or overnight stays. I also use this time to restock on supplies and keep detailed records of each pet's behavior, eating habits, and health. If a pet is in my care for an extended period, I might schedule a grooming appointment to ensure they're in top shape. My schedule is built around the needs of the pet, ensuring they receive consistent, loving care and that their owners have peace of mind. Caring for pets, whether on my own or a client's, requires a responsible and attentive approach to ensure their well-being. A fundamental aspect is providing a consistent routine, including scheduled feeding times with high-quality, species-appropriate food and fresh water that is always accessible. Regular exercise is crucial for both physical and mental health; this can range from daily walks for dogs to interactive playtime. Environmental enrichment, such as toys, scratching posts, and comfortable bedding, helps prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. It's also vital to maintain a clean and safe living space by regularly cleaning food and water bowls, litter boxes, and bedding. Beyond daily care, a thorough pet care plan includes regular grooming, such as brushing and nail trims, and staying up-to-date on veterinary care, including vaccinations and preventative treatments for fleas, ticks, and worms. For client homes, clear communication is paramount. It is important for me to obtain detailed instructions regarding the pet's specific needs, routines, medications, and any behavioral quirks, as well as emergency contact information. This holistic approach, combining routine care with attention to individual needs and a focus on safety and hygiene, ensures a happy and healthy life for any pet under my care.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cleveland. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
