Mike is an amazing dog walker, so great with my anxious dog Emma! He’s so patient and kind with her, she now lets him rub her belly - a miracle! I appreciate how thoughtful and considerate he is, even making arrangements for a replacement when he’s on vacation. Really puts my mind at ease knowing I have him to rely on during the day!

Margaret is a very patient and hard working woman! My dog is a rescue and very skittish of strangers. She barely lets anybody put on her harness. By day 2, Margaret was taking her on walks and my dog was playing with her when they got back! So as long as my dog is happy, I’m happy. Margaret is an excellent Rover dog care giver that will exceed needs and wants of your pet standards ❤️

About: Hello! My name is Paulina! I am a college student at Salem College majoring in Chemistry and an aspiring dentist who loves animals. As a proud owner of two cats, Chobani and Vela, I know firsthand how much love, patience, and dedicated care pets need to feel safe and happy while you are away. Beyond caring for my own cats, I have hands-on experience looking after pets of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Either ranging from high-energy dogs to quiet, timid kitties. My chemistry studies and experience teaching piano to children have made me naturally detail-oriented, patient, and extremely reliable, meaning I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, and medication instructions as written. Whether your pet thrives on energetic fetch games, interactive wand play, or gentle belly rubs and low-stress neighborhood walks, I tailor every visit to their unique comfort zone. Above all, I prioritize safety and clear communication, making sure your home is secure and sending you frequent photo and video updates so you always have total peace of mind! Hello! About: Hi! I have always loved working with pets. I have owned pets since I was a child and I have dealt with both cats and dogs. I spent time working at a doggy daycare called Ruff Housing and I got to learn further how to take care of a variety of dog types with a variety of personalities. I look forward to getting to spend some time with your pets and giving them all the love when you can't be there! I currently work from home and get to create my own hours so I will have plenty of time to spend time with your pets or make sure I am able to walk them. I enjoy taking some time to go on walks during the day so I would love to include your pet on them! I have a fenced in yard as well as access to a dog park and walking trail. I have two fur babies that love to play and will keep your pup entertained. I can crate dogs as needed! I am willingly to work with any requests to ensure your fur baby has the best time away from home and is safe and cared for in your absence.

About: I have taken care of a variety of dogs for my friends and loved ones! I miss them while in school, and would love the opportunity to take care of your cutie! I am currently finishing up my degree and could use a joyful break. Would love to take your dog on a run/walk that’s already part of my routine. We can both get some wonderful sunlight and photosynthesize 🌸 I have a fenced in back yard and a crate if needed. My neighborhood is dog friendly with all my neighbors having dogs, who at times get taken out for walks around our peaceful neighborhood.

About: Hello! My name is Abby and I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and plants since 2015. Pet-sitting truly is my joy!! I have experience checking in on pets during the day time, cleaning litter boxes, taking dogs of all shapes and sizes on walks, and overnight house sitting for up to 2 weeks at a time. Thanks to my daytime job as a Youth Pastor my schedule is more flexible than most. I pride myself on customizing each pet sitting experience to the pet and their owner(s). The beauty of pet sitting over boarding is that this experience can be tailored to what YOUR special needs are! Like I said my experience is considerable, I am also self taught for basic pet training. For instance, if your dog has a history of on-leash walking issues, while I’m with them I’d be happy to plant seeds for good behavior on future walks. Just say the word and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen! Historically I’ve acquired jobs mainly from word of mouth. While I may be newer to a platform like Rover, know that I am a well-seasoned pet sitter who has experience with a variety of households, breeds, ages, and situations. I pride myself on my vast skill set when it comes to pet sitting so if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m at your service! My full-time job is being a Youth Pastor. This means I have a very flexible schedule and am able to pop in to care for your pets at the needed times or even work remotely if needed. Most weeks my meetings are limited to Tuesday mornings, otherwise my schedule is pretty fluid. While I am unable to offer my own home for pet sitting, I can guarantee that I will care for your pet(s) in their home environment as well as I would my own. If you have a dog, one of my first questions I ask when pet-sitting is… “how long is your dog accustomed to waiting in between potty breaks?” I ask because each pet has different needs and I never want to make a dog wait longer than they typically would. I also want to keep to their normal schedule as much as possible, if they’re used to daily walks at certain times or being feed at very particular times then I will make notes to care for them the same way you do. The goal truly is for the dog or cat to receive the same attention and care that they have when their favorite people are home :)

About: I’ve taken care of dogs small and large since 2016 for family friends and neighbors. I have a real passion for animal care and my utmost priority is to make sure the well being of your pet is at an all time high. I’ve also gone through online training courses for dogs and cats detailing proper care techniques. Thursday afternoon's from four to six are my only recurring schedule block currently. I will update this when or if this ends up changing. I can tailor the visit to how best it is to fit your pet’s needs. On visits where a potty break is needed, they will be taken out and given treats and lots of love with some fresh water. On meal visits they will be given their meals and fresh water with lots of love as well. On overnight visits I follow the directions exactly and leave the place and the pet(s) looking and feeling better than when I arrived.

About: As a family of animal lovers with past pet‑business experience, I know how to give pets the gentle, reliable care they deserve. Our own pup, Duke (1.5), is a special‑needs dog himself, so we truly understand patience, routine, and calm support. He’s playful, friendly, and loves making new furry friends at their own pace. I have plenty of time to play with your pet. I’m available every day after 4 PM, and on weekends we’re flexible as needed. I have a fully fenced yard and a friendly dog who can keep your pup company if they enjoy that. I’m very comfortable caring for pets with special needs — whether they need a calmer environment, slower activities, medication, or extra reassurance. I always adjust to whatever helps them feel safe. They’ll get supervised playtime, regular potty breaks, and lots of attention. I follow each pet’s routine closely and can send photo updates throughout the day.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
