“Margaret is a very patient and hard working woman! My dog is a rescue and very skittish of strangers. She barely lets anybody put on her harness. By day 2, Margaret was taking her on walks and my dog was playing with her when they got back! So as long as my dog is happy, I’m happy. Margaret is an excellent Rover dog care giver that will exceed needs and wants of your pet standards ❤️”

“Sarah took excellent care of my dogs. The whole experience was easy for me and even better than I had anticipated. The daily photos were wonderful. They obviously love her now, which is always nice for me when I travel.”

“Elise was great with our dog and super responsive throughout planning and while caring for her! She kept us updated with lots of pics and was willing to come visit beforehand to go over care instructions. Would recommend!”

“Mike is an amazing dog walker, so great with my anxious dog Emma! He’s so patient and kind with her, she now lets him rub her belly - a miracle! I appreciate how thoughtful and considerate he is, even making arrangements for a replacement when he’s on vacation. Really puts my mind at ease knowing I have him to rely on during the day!”

“Carly was amazing, she treated Diesel like her own! Her updates were detailed, she was always on time, and my dog and I both loved her. I’ll absolutely be booking again!”

“Kory came highly recommended from a friend and he did not disappoint! He was very communicative and punctual and took amazing care of our dog. Anyone looking for a dog walker should without a doubt book with Kory.”

About: I started taking care of the family dog a few years ago. With him, I administered medication in a positive way and helped train him. I am comfortable using a harness and a regular collar. I also helped train my senior dog on his reactivity with positive reinforcement. Currently, I am on summer break. I work as a teacher during the school year, so my availability for the next few months is open. At my apartment, my roommate’s dog I take out every 2-3 hours and I give him lots of cuddles. I keep an eye out for anything around me to make sure it is safe.
“So so wonderful to find Tricia and not have to worry about Shelby so we could enjoy a few days away! She was attentive, prompt, responsive, and the whole package. We will be using her again!”

About: I have had many dogs throughout my life that I personally helped care for and loved and I hope to be able to do the same for your pets I am currently a student. I have plenty of time to care for your sweet little ones! I am available every weekday starting at 11am I have a open yard that my dog loves to run around in and explore! I will not be watching any pets at my home but I’m happy to watch them in your home
“This was our first time using rover.com. Amanda was great! She was right on time and communicated with me the entire time and sent beautiful pictures of my dog. He was well taken care of ! I definitely recommend Amanda and will be asking for her in the future:)”

About: I occasionally walked and cared for neighbors dogs in high school, but I have experience caring for dogs part time for a year post-high school. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine as a dog owner myself. I have a Husky/Rat Terrier mix named Biscotti, so I’m used to walks, feeding schedules, playtime, training, and lots of exercise. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide dependable care, walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays when needed. I do not dog sit in my home, but I am open to dog sitting and caring overnight in clients homes for dog sitting request.
“Rebekah was so calm, efficient, and kind with Ray. He warned up to her immediately, as though he sensed her heart and soul. In addition to her competence with Ray, she is extremely organized using a calendar, communicates well as needed, and it's just a nice friendly person to chat with. We felt extremely comfortable with her. As we camp for short periods of time this summer Rebekah will be our go-to person. We trust her completely to stay in our home and care for Puma our cat while we are gone. This is her primary job so she gives 100% and does not have other distractions.”

About: My full time job allows for flexibility during the work day and allows me to work anywhere with wifi. I can often be in the home caring for your animals or taking them out more often than a traditional sitter who works a 9-5. I dog sit for many members of my family and have had dogs since I was 2 years old. I have a lot of experience giving medication and working with elderly animals. If I am available, I would love to set up a meet and greet to see if I would be a good fit! I work a flexible 9-5 and can drop in to walk or spend additional time caring for your animal(s) because of the flexibility! I wake up early as well! I treat each home like I am a true guest there and treat it and the animals if they were my own. I am very respectful of the rules and furniture.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs small and large since 2016 for family friends and neighbors. I have a real passion for animal care and my utmost priority is to make sure the well being of your pet is at an all time high. I’ve also gone through online training courses for dogs and cats detailing proper care techniques. Thursday afternoon's from four to six are my only recurring schedule block currently. I will update this when or if this ends up changing. I can tailor the visit to how best it is to fit your pet’s needs. On visits where a potty break is needed, they will be taken out and given treats and lots of love with some fresh water. On meal visits they will be given their meals and fresh water with lots of love as well. On overnight visits I follow the directions exactly and leave the place and the pet(s) looking and feeling better than when I arrived.
About: Hi! I’m Maria, or Ria for short. I’m excited to meet and care for your furry friend! I've loved and cared for animals of all shapes and sizes my entire life—including dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, crabs, fish, and farm animals. These days, my heart belongs to my sweet Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I live in Kernersville and work in Winston-Salem. I work from home and in the office, so my schedule for playtime, walks, and feedings is flexible. I am very active, so I can provide your pet with plenty of walks and playtime! I am comfortable with both large and small animals.

Very flexible, reliable and accommodating! Would definitely recommend Natalie to other pet parents without hesitation.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
