“Lawton is awesome!! She sent great updates with photos and videos, was so easy to communicate with especially with me changing some times to take care of our dogs! She left our house clean and cared for and is just a sweet soul. We will for sure be using her again to care for our sweet fur babes!🫶”

“Ava was a lifesaver and a great sitter for my two pups. I had a dog sitter cancel and she stepped in at the last minute. She was very responsive and sent updates often. I will definitely ask her to sit with my pups again.”

About: I’ve grown up around pets and taken care of dogs, cats, and rabbits. I’m currently in college and don’t have a part time job, so my schedule is mostly free. I am currently working part-time as a babysitter, and I go to university in the fall and spring, keeping me close to the area at all times. My schedule is very open, so I will be able to spend adequate time playing with and giving attention to your pet! I treat all animals with love and respect, just as I would treat my own. I am flexible, being able to provide care for your pet and open communication for you!

“Alex was amazing. She took care of our dog and cat, both can by a little challenging, and did everything we asked. We would definitely recommend her to anyone needing care for their pets.”

“Perri did a fantastic job watching our babies while we were gone for a week. We got regular updates and tons of photos. We came back to a very clean house and she even let us know she was able to feed the dogs before she left for the last time so they were taken care of until we got home. I would 100% use her again in the future.”

“Cynthia did a wonderful job with our dog, Bailey! She was very communicative, took lots of pictures, and left our house in perfect condition. I would certainly love to have her come back to watch Bailey again! Thank you, Cynthia!”

“Alex was a pleasure to have in the house. He took good care of our two dogs and sent pictures almost everyday. The house was left tidy. I would love to have Alex back in the future to house and pet sit again.”

“Thomas was professional and provided excellent care from the first message to his time spent with Owen. It was not your standard "house sitting" since he did not have to stay overnight but provided the help needed while I was away for the day. He came to meet us first so he could learn more about Owen and the things to make their time together go smoothly. Owen had a great time with Thomas playing outside at his house and then was able to get him home safely to sleep in his own bed. I appreciate the care Thomas provided and was so helpful to ensure Owen was comfortable with him. I look forward to having him watch Owen next time.”

“Audrey was amazing! She was super communicative, took great care of our good boy, and left our home spotless. We felt totally at ease while we were away — highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clarkson Valley
Kelsey was an awesome sitter for our dachshund! Dependable, responsible, and a very sweet person! Kelsey spent a lot of time with Sage and kept us updated with pics and any concerns/issues. Our house was just like we left it as well. Kelsey is a gem and I would definitely rebook with her!!
Patricia was simply amazing. I absolutely understand why she has so many perfect reviews. From communication to care and updates everything she does is top notch. We have an elder dog who is very needy and persistent and she handled Miss Karona effortlessly. On top of that our house looked better than when we left when we arrived back home . We will be scheduling our vacations around Patricia’s availability.

Abby was great with our pets. Our dog is somewhat anxious with new people and has had some issues with not eating his meals when he is not around us. He seemed comfortable with her by the following day after she came to our house. She kept us updated with texts and pictures over the 4+ day stay.
Lindsey was great with our dog! He can be a little shy and takes some time to warm up, but she was super patient and made him feel comfortable. She kept us updated, took great care of him, and we could tell he was in good hands. We really appreciated how kind and attentive she was, and we’d definitely trust her to watch him again!

Tarah did an outstanding job house and dog sitting for us while we were away. From the start, she was dependable, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure everything was taken care of. Most importantly, Jupiter and Elbert were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned home, which says everything. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. The house was also spotless and well looked after. We truly appreciated Tarah’s kindness, responsibility, and attention to detail, and we would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend!

Adam was so enthusiastic about meeting my pets- it’s nice to find someone who isn’t apprehensive about my large, boisterous German Shepherd. I loved that he was able to spend most of his time in the home while sitting rather than just dropping in a few times. He was also super flexible when a snowstorm made our travel plans change. Thanks, Adam!

Anna went above and beyond taking care of our dogs while we were on vacation! She asked very thorough questions ahead of our trip, which showed she cared about taking care of our dogs and our home to our satisfaction. She sent lots of pictures while we were away which was comforting, and left our home clean and organized. We were very happy with her service and comfortable having her in our home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clarkson Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clarkson Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clarkson Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clarkson Valley. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
