“Ava was a lifesaver and a great sitter for my two pups. I had a dog sitter cancel and she stepped in at the last minute. She was very responsive and sent updates often. I will definitely ask her to sit with my pups again.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs of any kind ever since I can remember! I have been working at a local daycare and boarding facility for three years, and have been taking care of neighbor and family dogs for my whole life, I promise to give you an above and beyond experience! ❤️ I work part time at a local daycare and boarding facility, so I have plenty of time on my hands! I am home from college for the summer, so I am willing to spend as much time as possible with your pet! I have a sweet elderly dog named Olive to keep your pet company! And most importantly, I have a large yard to keep your dog active and on their feet!

“Emma was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our Goldendoodle, Hank, while we were away. She kept us updated throughout his stay with lots of pictures and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. She truly went above and beyond by watering my flowers and bringing in our packages without us even asking. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant so much to us. Hank was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved his time with Emma. We would absolutely trust her with Hank again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter! 🐾💕”

“I cannot recommend Alex enough! I think when people consider cat care, they think it’s simple. That’s not the case with our two cats. They’re extremely high maintenance. I’m talking four pages worth of notes and will wake you up early for food. Alex dealt with them in strides and even marked up said four page instruction manual. We’ll definitely use Alex again in the future!”

“Evelyn was attentive and caring to my two Cavaliers, including the older one who has a medical condition. She did everything we asked and kept me informed during our time away. I appreciated her attention to detail. I would hire her again!”

“Lisa was great! Super with communications, checked in when she arrived and sent photos then and from their hike. I'm always little nervous booking a stranger to care for my dog through Rover, but Lisa made me feel very reassured Tess was in good hands! Would most definitely leave my Tess in her care again.”

“Perri is a fantastic house/dog sitter!!! We received countless photos every day of our dog Murph looking very content, happy, and well taken care of. We would highly recommend Perri!!”

About: Through my life I have experienced taking care of family pets, from the puppy stage to crossing the rainbow bridge. I often think I love animals more than people. I am currently working from home part time with flexible hours, so I can play with and cuddle your fur babies as much as they want. I can board, pet sit or just walk your dog weekdays or weekends day or night. I have a fenced in yard with one senior dog. I can crate a dog up to 40lbs. We can go for walks if desired.
“We were so lucky to find Cynthia!! This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous to ask a stranger to watch our 4 dogs for 10 days, but Cynthia couldn’t have put us more at ease 😊. She sent frequent updates, is a great communicator, and is a sincere caretaker - taking the time to get to know each dog and caring for their individual needs. Cynthia is HIGHLY recommended and GREATLY appreciated!”

“Abby is fantastic! Great communication. I had no worries. Which is new to me, I worry my self crazy. I was just fine. Sweetest person. My Cody took to her right away. See you again Abby”

“Great sitter. Rosemary sent photos and communicated frequently. Most importantly, she seemed to truly enjoy working with Sydney. Our dog can be a little difficult sometimes and we often come back to a dehydrated, depressed pup. She seemed to be in great spirits and that’s a credit to Rosemary. Would definitely recommend!”

“Madyson was great! She always responds and kept me up to date. Luna loved her from the beginning! She is normally scared but was drawn to Madyson almost immediately! The house was well kept and Luna was happy! I already have her booked for my next upcoming trip!”

About: I work Monday through Friday, and I have evenings available every Thursday and Friday (along with every other weekend). How can I help you during this time? I own my home, and I am experienced in keeping cats separate when they’re only visiting. When possible, it would be ideal to keep your pet in your home - but they’re also welcome here!
“We used Olivia to dog sit for us over the weekend. Olivia is a natural when it comes to caring for pets. She is a dog owner herself, and that really shows through with how well she cared for Our dog. She did an outstanding job taking care of Otis! She followed his daily routine and She was great with communication, she sent us daily pictures and updates. Otis will be happy to see Olivia again!”

“Alex did a great job taking care of our pups! He sent a bunch of update photos and the dogs warmed right up to him! Qlwe will def be contacting him again, thanks Alex!”

This is the second time Tarah has taken care of our pups and our house, and once again she did an outstanding job. This visit was a little more challenging because we left her with our 10-month-old, 100+ lb puppy who is recovering from elbow surgery. He required extra attention, careful activity restrictions, and medication, and we felt completely confident knowing he was in her care. Tarah kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well loved while we were away. She also took great care of our home, leaving everything just as we left it. It's such a relief to have someone we trust with both our dogs and our house. We wouldn't hesitate to book Tarah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring, and responsible pet sitter.

Abby was great with our pets. Our dog is somewhat anxious with new people and has had some issues with not eating his meals when he is not around us. He seemed comfortable with her by the following day after she came to our house. She kept us updated with texts and pictures over the 4+ day stay.
Lindsey was great with our dog! He can be a little shy and takes some time to warm up, but she was super patient and made him feel comfortable. She kept us updated, took great care of him, and we could tell he was in good hands. We really appreciated how kind and attentive she was, and we’d definitely trust her to watch him again!

Adam was so enthusiastic about meeting my pets- it’s nice to find someone who isn’t apprehensive about my large, boisterous German Shepherd. I loved that he was able to spend most of his time in the home while sitting rather than just dropping in a few times. He was also super flexible when a snowstorm made our travel plans change. Thanks, Adam!

Anna went above and beyond taking care of our dogs while we were on vacation! She asked very thorough questions ahead of our trip, which showed she cared about taking care of our dogs and our home to our satisfaction. She sent lots of pictures while we were away which was comforting, and left our home clean and organized. We were very happy with her service and comfortable having her in our home.

As of July 2026, there are 1,656 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Clarkson Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clarkson Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clarkson Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clarkson Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
