About: I’m a Fear Free Certified Professional, currently studying animal behavior. I’ve been running my own home based doggy daycare and boarding house for four years. My care is crate-free (unless that's what your pup's preferred at-home routine is,) with regular group outings to trails and the beach. I live in a two level home where the entire downstairs and fenced backyard are just for the dogs! It’s colorfully set up as the coolest doggie social club, but the pups are welcome throughout both levels of the home. They are never forcibly isolated and almost always prefer to be close to wherever I am. I keep my client list small and personal—almost all of my dogs have been with me for years. I don’t aim to pack the house; I aim to give the best experience possible for every dog and human involved. Even when clients start as one-offs, they usually stick around—because I strive to be a resource for dogs and their families. That’s why I call this place a home away from home. Canine care is my daily life. The dogs are with me throughout the day—whether we’re in the yard, around the house, or out on a trail. She also co-runs the daycare! I focus on keeping things consistent, calm, fun, and full of bonding—play, rest, outdoor time, and enrichment are all part of the daily rhythm. Outside of daycare hours, the space functions as our home too, so dogs experience a relaxed, real-life environment, not a facility. I send updates, pictures, and videos throughout the day.

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life (plus horses, goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs and hamsters). The last 20 years I have had Frenchies and English bulldogs. Along the way I have also had chihuahua's, Rottweilers, pits, cattle dogs, American bulldogs as well as a number of rescue cats. I've adopted many from shelters, however, several showed up on my porch and adopted me. I am currently available 24/7. I can watch dogs in your home or mine. I am available to walk them on a set schedule, which I do with my dog regularly. I currently have a French bulldog, our day consists of reward based training/walks, endless love, healthy treats, enrichment toys, and hikes. I would like to offer this to other pets as well. I am understanding of any dogs special needs or diets. We run a routine program as far as food, feeding time and exercise. I will only board your dog(s)/cat(s) along with mine. I do not double book as I want to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

For boarding and daycare, I have a cozy on-site kennel with a comfy bed, blanket, and toys for pets who prefer it at night, along with a secure enclosed dog park for safe play, bathroom breaks, and socializing. My daycare and boarding space is air conditioned as needed for heat-sensitive pets, and there’s a lovely patio so dogs can enjoy fresh air whenever their heart desires. For safety, I use AirTags on all pets, live in a gated complex, and have an enclosed hallway on the third floor — perfect for escape-prone dogs. Cats enjoy a clean litter box, toys, and plenty of space to play or lounge… though their patio privileges have been permanently revoked due to an undisclosed number of “great escape” attempts. I follow each pet’s routine closely and give them the activity, affection, and structure they need — along with plenty of fun.

“My dog has done daycare here several times now, and I’m finally leaving a review: I don’t know if Alex’s other job involves customer service, but it wouldn’t surprise me, because Alex is a rockstar at making you feel welcome and like your pet is being cared for by a genuinely responsible, kind-hearted dog lover: 1) Alex has the sweetest, most friendly attitude, 2) very communicative, and responds very quickly or within an appropriate time frame, 3) has been super gracious and flexible on my very wide/varying drop-off times, 4) is great about taking a dog pic or 2 each time and giving me any updates, which gives peace of mind, and 5) genuinely cares about making my nervous dog feel comfortable, from going the extra mile (literally) driving to a quieter place to give my dog a longer, quieter walk, to letting my dog borrow her weighted blanket, to learning my dog’s triggers, to observing my dog’s behavior with other dogs. My dog can be dog reactive, and I really appreciate Alex taking the time to do a thorough meet and greet to make sure my dog will jive with the other dog in the home. (P.S. Wally is a joie-de-vivre sweetheart who shows great love to all - like owner, like dog!) Alex grew up with dogs and practices responsible separation/management techniques, like feeding the dogs separately, gates in the kitchen, etc. Not to mention that the location is convenient for dropping off my separation-anxiety dog when I’m going to non-dog-friendly activities in downtown Oakland or towards SF. I believe ALL dogs are stars with their own unique "genre" (Punk, EDM, R&B, Rock, Pop, easy listening) and let's face it, this is how they crack us up on a daily basis! I believe positive reinforcement, but also Cesar's Way (exercise, discipline, affection) and include lots of playfulness in the process (solo or with my pup - your preference). I enjoy assisting in ongoing training (how to improve walking on a leash, how to look good for their "Dogs playing poker" portrait, etc) while in my care. Whether it be for a brief stay or a brisk walk (A tired dog is a happy dog!) I can't wait to meet your fluffy family member and help ease your mind while you are away from them. I have worked with dogs that may be fearful or have anxiety (many often confuse with being "aggressive" when this is not the case). Being attentive on our walks at all times is paramount...I'm not one who focuses on looking at my phone constantly (unless I'm taking pics of our walk to send to you!) while letting your pup pick up or eat something they shouldn't.
