“Susan did an amazing job taking care of my fur baby! She was attentive, reliable, and kept me updated with great communication throughout. I came home to a happy girl and an immaculate house. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter and I definitely plan on using her again.”

“Heather was a great sitter for our home and dog. She took the time to meet us ahead of time, learn about our pup’s quirks, and was respectful of our home while we were away. She was communicative and sent us the perfect amount of updates to give us peace of mind. We will definitely keep her in mind for future bookings. Thanks again, Heather!”

“Meghan is a wonderful person as well as an excellent dog sitter! She genuinely cared for Parker and attended to all his needs beautifully. It was fun to get pic updates. She left my house in great shape and her communication was stellar! I’d love to have her stay with my little guy again!🙏”

About: I have worked Animal Rescue, Fostering, Rehabilitation, and Adoptions the last 6 years! I understand pet parents, can easily follow instructions, and will stay alert to your pet needs! I will value your pet as I would my own! I currently work remotely, so I am extremely flexible. If not house sitting, I can make as many or little stops at your house as needed. I prefer to not board animals at my home. I do not have a fenced in yard, so it is not very suitable for a dog.
“Itzia was amazing! She took great care of our pets (we have five ?????) and sent us lots of photos and videos. She even left our house cleaner than we left it. We will definitely be using her again to watch our zoo.”

“Laina was an excellent caretaker for Cooper. Cooper has lots of anxiety and needs lots of patience which Laina was able to provide. She had great communication the whole time and made me feel comfortable Cooper was cared for. As difficult as Cooper can be to handle she was able to do it. I would happily recommend Laina to anyone who wants their dog cared for properly for their specific needs. She even got Cooper to feel comfortable enough to lick her hand which is not like him with new people. Great communication, great care, ten out of ten experience, by far the best I could’ve hired. Thank you so much Laina!”

“Emily was a wonderful dog sitter, so attentive and so communicative! She took great care of my dog and my place as well! I really value having updates and ongoing communication when I’m leaving my dog with others (especially someone new) and Emily understood the importance of that. Will definitely book her again! Thanks so much Emily! :)”

“Ginger is the best dog sitter we have ever used! Even before arriving, she texted us to let us know that she would be at our rental house an hour before requested to get familiar with our dogs. We have two young rescue dogs who love to play and can be rambunctious and Ginger was loving and gentle with them. She sent pictures each day and also texted to let us know how they were doing. Ginger followed every directive we left and went above and beyond by washing their dishes and toys each day. In addition to taking excellent care of the house and the dogs, Ginger also became our travel agent during our stay and gave us fabulous suggestions on places to visit from Asheville to Cades Cove. One day, we were a little late getting back because we went to one of her suggested sites and I texted her to apologize but Ginger immediately texted me back and said not to worry but to enjoy ourselves. She is a true professional and an incredibly caring person. When we return, Ginger is the only person I trust to watch my fur babies.”

About: I am the one who walks the dog(s) since childhood. I currently live with some family and a chill pug and a very loving protective Cane Corso. I love when they want to cuddle and the long walks diesel likes to take. I will most likely be able to devote attention all day due to my free schedule. I have a direct communication style and need somewhat specific instructions. Understanding the emotions of animals is simple for me. So anxious, scared, and lonely dogs are easy to communicate with. Its only the past 3 years that I have ever gotten paid to take care of dogs. My schedule could not be more free at the moment. I will update this if that ends up changing. I suppose it is nice to spend holidays with family though. My pug doesn’t go on long walks any more unless I carry him but I walk my big dog every day. I enjoy playing with my dogs everyday. My cain corso who appeared a little after the hurricane loves attention, usually in the form of belly rubs. My pug likes to cuddle and always has to be around the humans to feel at home. The dogs usually sleep in my bed. When I meet a new dog I let usually let them smell me and get lower so I am not standing over them.
“Juliann was fantastic with our pets and our home! She took excellent care of all four pets and was great about sending pictures and updates. And the pets LOVED her! We will definitely be calling on her again!”

“Brenda was excellent with my Sam. Couldn’t have found a more wonderful person. She took the best care of Sam anyone could have ask for . If you are looking for a sitter Brenda is the best.”

About: I grew up with a house full of dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds - you name it and we had it. I was always the neighborhood kid who took care of the neighbors pets. As an adult, I’ve had cats and several breeds of dogs, including several who have not been dog-friendly, some who were runners, and one Shepard who I couldn’t ever fully trust with other humans. I’m clean, quiet, and super respectful - full introvert - and I work from home with a relaxed schedule - so all of these things kind of line up for me to pet sit! I’m very professional, I own a company and do all of the work from home and we have a very high reputation for professionalism, which starts with me. I’m also an EMT (I pick up shifts on occasion but never when I’m pet sitting), which means, I take safety and healthy very seriously and you have to pass an intense background check to stay certified (at the FBI level) and so you can rest assured I don’t have a hidden background. I’m also involved in my communities and am on the board of a nonprofit and volunteer for others. My main job is very easy going. I own a company and can work from anywhere I have good wifi. I rarely have virtual meetings that last more than 60 minutes and so I am able to closely monitor and/or walk/bathroom pets. I have EMS commitments on Mondays and occasionally other days- so just reach out and I’ll confirm my schedule. Safety, trust, and respect are some of the most important principles in this line of work and it has been a core part of my life and profession. The company I own is a travel company and we take customers to 35 countries around the world and so I fully understand how valuable safety and trust is. I could go on-and-on about how EMS is rooted in safety and trust, but I think this much is evident. I also take and send pictures daily and know how important good and open communications is.
About: I’ve always been an animal lover, and over the years, I’ve come to realize that each animal is truly unique with its own personality and quirks. This is what I love most about pet sitting—getting to know them and observing their personalities as they become more comfortable with me. I am currently only working a few days a week as I am in school. So I will have more than enough time, love, and definitely cuddles to give to your furry family. Your pets’ safety is my top priority when pet sitting. I make every effort to ensure that your animals have a wonderful and enjoyable time while I’m taking care of them. Also, I’d like to add that during overnight stays, I prefer my boyfriend, Landen, to stay with me. It makes me feel more comfortable as a young woman. He’s also an animal lover, so between the two of us, your beloved animals will receive an overload of love. (lol) I’ll make sure you’re okay with that before the booking as well!
“Mallory was great with my pit mix this weekend - I especially appreciate how patient she was with my dog during a weekend of storms, which my dog hates! Many thanks to Mallory!”

“Kerstin was a wonderful house sitter for our goldendoodle and cat. We used her for the week of thanksgiving while we were out of the country and felt that our animals and home were in great hands! She sends daily updates with photos as well! We arrived from a long trip and travels to a very clean home and gifts for our son. What a pleasure. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Chestnut Springs
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,324 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chestnut Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chestnut Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chestnut Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chestnut Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
