About: I have taken car of animals and kids my whole life. As the eldest daughter of a disabled retired EMS dad, I was needed around the house to help take car of my younger siblings, our cats and dogs. Juggling my own life and taking care of theirs I've developed crucial skills in order to be able to care for everyone properly. I've got a lot of love to give! I am a quality assurance and Human Resources manager for a local business. my schedule is incredibly flexible and managed by myself. I am free early mornings and late afternoons into evenings pretty much daily unless I have a doctor's appointment. Taking care of pets is very similar to taking care of humans. You need to learn how to communicate with your pet, each animal has their own language, signs they give to let you know when they need to use the bathroom, when they want more space from you or some playtime. Understanding these little signals can allow you to take care of them better. As a temporary care giver you also need to respect the space you are in and the routines that these animals already have in place. Their owners know their animals best and it is always best to follow the instructions you were given.

About: I've had pets my entire life and have been active in their care since early on. I have personal experience taking care of dogs, cats, bunnies, and rodents throughout my life. I've dog and cat sat (daily check-ins and overnight stays) for several people in my life over the years, including my close friends, coworkers, and bosses. I have recent experience with taking care of and aiding senior pets in their daily routine and have no issue administering medication as instructed by their veterinarians/owners. In addition, I have no issue maintaining consistency in training and providing mental stimulation for younger pets. I know that younger animals are learning and that they need time to process requests. I understand that pets can be unique in their behaviors and that their owners know them best. It's important to me to make sure pets are well taken care of and comfortable in their lives - and that can look different for different pets and owners. I'm a research-focused graduate student with a more flexible schedule than most, so I can visit multiple times throughout the day and night. I have my own car so I can easily travel to clients' homes and have seat-belt attachments to travel with animals in the car as well if the need arrises. I strive to keep things as consistent and predictable as possible, maintaining a pet's schedule as laid out by the owner. I've used a variety of leashes and feeding schedules over the years and find that it really depends on the dog/owner on which one works best. For example, my dog Wiggles likes to graze so she has access to food around the clock, but when I take care of my brother's dogs, they require a more structured feeding schedule that I adhere to for them.

About: Hello! I’ve been taking care of my family’s dogs and my friends’ dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and other small furry animals since I was 14. I have experience in leash training, breed-specific enrichment, and reactivity training. Specifically, I’ve worked to desensitize and socialize my current dog, whose past before we adopted him left him reactive to dogs and humans, and very scared of baths and crates. I’m currently a local medical school student, but I miss my dog terribly and am very excited to love on your pet! I’ll likely have time for walks and check-ins as agreed upon, and overnight stays with notice in advance. I am strict but loving to my dog, but I recognize that special needs or senior dogs need more leniency.
