“Maria was a godsend. She watched our two young dogs during the day for us during our vacation to the mountains while we left for the day for the Palmetto Bowl. Maria was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. She came over the day before to meet our dogs and sent updates throughout the day. They loved her! We would definitely recommend Maria for any of your pet needs.”

“It has been a pleasure to have Monique (and her daughter) in our home. They gave thoughtful time and attention as they cared for our dog, Betsy. We are thankful we found them through Rover, and look forward to their next visit.”

“Susan did an amazing job taking care of my fur baby! She was attentive, reliable, and kept me updated with great communication throughout. I came home to a happy girl and an immaculate house. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter and I definitely plan on using her again.”

“I can’t say enough great things about our pet sitter, Trey! From the very beginning, he was professional, kind, and clearly passionate about animals. He took the time to get to know our pets’ routines, personalities, and special needs, which immediately put us at ease. While we were away, we received regular updates, photos, and messages that showed just how happy and comfortable our pets were. It made such a difference knowing they were being cared for with so much love and attention. Our home was also well taken care of, and everything was just as we left it. Most importantly, our pets absolutely adore him—which says everything. We came home to relaxed, happy animals, and that peace of mind is priceless. I would highly recommend Trey to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring pet sitter!”

About: I’ve had several dogs of my own and lived with others: lab/pit mix, pits, two German Shepherds, a Great Dane, a friendly chihuahua, and an evil chihuahua. I’ve rescued dogs off the street, and am all around good with animals. I have a job that gives me a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I do travel from time to time, which is why I don’t have a pup of my own. I can be whatever your dog needs. If he’s old, we can relax together; full of energy? We can throw sticks around and run. Small and skittish? Food is a great incentivizer to build trust. I’m looking to make some extra cash and enjoy the company of your pets. I will make sure your dog is happy, fed, played with, and comfortable. I only take on one client at a time, so owners do not have to worry about their pets interacting with another owner's pets. Your loved ones will have my undivided attention.

They love to just chill on our porch. They are fed twice daily . I am a special education teacher so currently have open availability. Once I go back to work mid August I will have early morning and late afternoon/evening on week days and weekends. My dogs, cats and pig are all fed twice daily. My animals love exploring in our yard, chasing squirrels and lounging on the porch. They also LOVE to come in ajd snuggle in the bed with us. About: Caring for animals is something that runs in my family both my mother and my aunt are deeply involved in various rescues including but not limited to puppers, cats, even spiders of all shapes and sizes. We treat our fur babies like one of us and they are definitely part of the family. We will spend lots of time together walking through open fields and woods playing fetch if they are into those kinds of things I’m also ok with just sitting and sun bathing, we go fishing if the weather is nice. They will never have to worry about being alone or being forgotten or scared because I will be there any time they need. Lap dogs and cuddle buddies are always welcome !!

“Emily was fantastic with our dogs while we were away for the weekend. She had great communication with us and sent us lots of pictures. Our pups had a great time with her! And, I would absolutely use Emily again.”

About: I have not only been professionally pet sitting for one year, but I have been a lifetime pet owner. I specialize in exotic pets such as rabbits, reptiles, and birds. I have been a cat owner for 13 years and I am very familiar with German Shepherds. No pet is too big, too small, or too unique. I am currently a full-time student and I work a part-time job. I am available Friday - Sunday, and certain times on weekdays, except for Tuesday. Please reach out for more specific scheduling. I will always ensure that front and back doors, fences, and yard gates are closed/secure at all times so your pet does not escape. If your pet is required to stay in a crate, I will always make sure the crate is clean and secure. Dogs will always wear a harness with a leash to ensure extra safety.
“Darby is fantastic. She truly made our Mishka feel happy and loved. Its so important to see our dogs demeanor after time away and Mishka always looks content and well taken care of. Thank you Darby!”

“This is our first time using Heather and she was great! She was really good with Otis, attentive to all his needs and took great care of our home over the three days we were out of town. Absolutely no worries! I will definitely book with Heather again.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up caring for our family dog, geese and ducks! Lately, i've committed myself to helping dogs and cats feel loved, safe and secure while their pet parents are away. I worked at a local veterinary clinic in their boarding department caring for overnight and long term clients. I previously worked at a local animal shelter for a year, where I learned the true responsibility of taking care of animals. Senior animals have such a special place in my heart! Animal happiness and safety is a main priority of mine. I am looking to take care of your animals part time and as needed! I have plenty of experience with all kinds of dogs and cats! I have 3 dogs currently, a shepherd mix, husky mix and a mini pin doberman alongside 2 cats! We have a large fenced in yard which allows us to let our dogs get their energy out and enjoy some time alone outside, while we continue to keep a close eye on them. The dogs are never out of my sight, I know how mischievous they tend to be.
“Chloe was so great. She put our mind at ease while we were gone for the weekend. She followed our instructions perfectly and our house was exactly as we left it. Our dog was well taken care of. We will be booking her again in the future.”

“Chloe did an exceptional job watching our Dane. He was dealing with an injury and needed extra attention, a cone and medication and Chloe met all of his needs. This was our first time using Rover and being able to travel with peace of mind that our boy was at home made our trip so much more enjoyable. We came home to a very happy boy and a clean house. We will for sure be using Chloe on future trips and recommend her to any of our friends that have pets.”

“Thyra did an amazing job house sitting with our two doggos over the Thanksgiving holiday. She kept us updated throughout the day with photos and we came home to two very happy dogs. 100% recommend Thyra!”

About: I am the one who walks the dog(s) since childhood. I currently live with some family and a chill pug and a very loving protective Cane Corso. I love when they want to cuddle and the long walks diesel likes to take. I will most likely be able to devote attention all day due to my free schedule. I have a direct communication style and need somewhat specific instructions. Understanding the emotions of animals is simple for me. So anxious, scared, and lonely dogs are easy to communicate with. Its only the past 3 years that I have ever gotten paid to take care of dogs. My schedule could not be more free at the moment. I will update this if that ends up changing. I suppose it is nice to spend holidays with family though. My pug doesn’t go on long walks any more unless I carry him but I walk my big dog every day. I enjoy playing with my dogs everyday. My cain corso who appeared a little after the hurricane loves attention, usually in the form of belly rubs. My pug likes to cuddle and always has to be around the humans to feel at home. The dogs usually sleep in my bed. When I meet a new dog I let usually let them smell me and get lower so I am not standing over them.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cedar Mountain
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,193 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cedar Mountain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
