“This was our first time asking someone we did not previously know to look after our kitty and our house for 2 days. Monique was the epitome of kindness and friendly professionalism. We had no concerns while we were away.”

“Breanna was an awesome sitter for our boy Scout, our multiple other animals, and our home. Our home was exactly like we left it, maybe even cleaner. She did two meet and greets before our trip and was in communication the whole time we were away. We will definitely book again on our next trip.”

“Maria was so sweet to my fur babies! Hellboy is aptly names and even he warmed up to her! She was thoughtful and a great communicator. My place was a wreck due to moving out of state in a few days from the trip, packing boxes, and broken oven from the night before - she sailed through it without a pause. Total trooper! I recommend her without hesitation!”

About: Caring for animals is something that runs in my family both my mother and my aunt are deeply involved in various rescues including but not limited to puppers, cats, even spiders of all shapes and sizes. We treat our fur babies like one of us and they are definitely part of the family. We will spend lots of time together walking through open fields and woods playing fetch if they are into those kinds of things I’m also ok with just sitting and sun bathing, we go fishing if the weather is nice. They will never have to worry about being alone or being forgotten or scared because I will be there any time they need. Lap dogs and cuddle buddies are always welcome !!
About: I’ve had animals all my life. Several have been rescued as strays. I can care for an animal at any stage of life. I’m happy to walk dogs and snuggle cats. I am a homeschool mom and have plenty of time to give your animals the love they need. I can do weekday walks and daily check ins. Over night stays are possible as well. I can come to your house and meet any needs your animals have. I can walk your dogs, snuggle your cats or just keep your animals company.
“I can’t say enough great things about our pet sitter, Trey! From the very beginning, he was professional, kind, and clearly passionate about animals. He took the time to get to know our pets’ routines, personalities, and special needs, which immediately put us at ease. While we were away, we received regular updates, photos, and messages that showed just how happy and comfortable our pets were. It made such a difference knowing they were being cared for with so much love and attention. Our home was also well taken care of, and everything was just as we left it. Most importantly, our pets absolutely adore him—which says everything. We came home to relaxed, happy animals, and that peace of mind is priceless. I would highly recommend Trey to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring pet sitter!”

“Chloe was so great. She put our mind at ease while we were gone for the weekend. She followed our instructions perfectly and our house was exactly as we left it. Our dog was well taken care of. We will be booking her again in the future.”

“Laina was an excellent caretaker for Cooper. Cooper has lots of anxiety and needs lots of patience which Laina was able to provide. She had great communication the whole time and made me feel comfortable Cooper was cared for. As difficult as Cooper can be to handle she was able to do it. I would happily recommend Laina to anyone who wants their dog cared for properly for their specific needs. She even got Cooper to feel comfortable enough to lick her hand which is not like him with new people. Great communication, great care, ten out of ten experience, by far the best I could’ve hired. Thank you so much Laina!”

About: I have not only been professionally pet sitting for one year, but I have been a lifetime pet owner. I specialize in exotic pets such as rabbits, reptiles, and birds. I have been a cat owner for 13 years and I am very familiar with German Shepherds. No pet is too big, too small, or too unique. I am currently a full-time student and I work a part-time job. I am available Friday - Sunday, and certain times on weekdays, except for Tuesday. Please reach out for more specific scheduling. I will always ensure that front and back doors, fences, and yard gates are closed/secure at all times so your pet does not escape. If your pet is required to stay in a crate, I will always make sure the crate is clean and secure. Dogs will always wear a harness with a leash to ensure extra safety.
About: I’ve had several dogs of my own and lived with others: lab/pit mix, pits, two German Shepherds, a Great Dane, a friendly chihuahua, and an evil chihuahua. I’ve rescued dogs off the street, and am all around good with animals. I have a job that gives me a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I do travel from time to time, which is why I don’t have a pup of my own. I can be whatever your dog needs. If he’s old, we can relax together; full of energy? We can throw sticks around and run. Small and skittish? Food is a great incentivizer to build trust. I’m looking to make some extra cash and enjoy the company of your pets. I will make sure your dog is happy, fed, played with, and comfortable. I only take on one client at a time, so owners do not have to worry about their pets interacting with another owner's pets. Your loved ones will have my undivided attention.
“Susan did a wonderful job with our 3 dogs. She gave updates often and even came over the day before to get to know the dogs. She understands the mind of the dog! She really took the time to understand the best strategy in taking care of our dogs. She is down to earth and absolutely lovely. Thank you, Susan!”

When I have clients dogs in my home I treat them as I would my own dogs. Lots of love , pets, and play time. When I do in home visits I make sure the animal gets as much attention as possible during my visits so that they don’t miss their family.

“Emily was fantastic with our dogs while we were away for the weekend. She had great communication with us and sent us lots of pictures. Our pups had a great time with her! And, I would absolutely use Emily again.”

“Chloe did an exceptional job watching our Dane. He was dealing with an injury and needed extra attention, a cone and medication and Chloe met all of his needs. This was our first time using Rover and being able to travel with peace of mind that our boy was at home made our trip so much more enjoyable. We came home to a very happy boy and a clean house. We will for sure be using Chloe on future trips and recommend her to any of our friends that have pets.”

About: I’ve had at least one pet in my life since I was born. Mostly cats, we had 7 cats at one point, we now have 5. We used to have 2 dogs, but unfortunately one named Brownie passed recently after a very long fight with heart worms. I’m used to all kinds pets with different personalities, ages, sizes and medical issues. One of our cats Campbell lived to be 20 years old. We fostered one cat who was blind in one eye, and another we adopted was an older cat that was both blind and deaf. Awhile ago one of our cat Penny ended up very sick and we had to give her 2 shots a day and multiple medications, she is now a healthy and happy kitty. I have also dog sat for my sisters 2 cane corsos more times than I can count, so I am comfortable around big dogs. I am currently working part time, but I am going to have to end my job there soon due to it being too laborious on my scoliosis and am planning to dedicate my time to taking care of your fuzzy family instead. I eventually will be doing Rover full time, but for now I will only be available on Thursdays and fridays. In my home, we take our dog on walks 2-3 times a day, always on leash. We also clean our litter boxes at least once a day, and we have multiple litter boxes around our house. We have 2 set meal times with our animals that consist of mostly wet food for a healthy diet and some dry food to help clean their teeth (also any medicine they need). They also have ‘treat time’ every night before bed where we throw treats around the house for them to chase. All of our animals have been fixed, has their shots and is given flea and tick medicine. We also have tons of different toys for all our babies, any with string or feathers is put away when not in use, and is only used with supervision. We also keep our house as clean as possible since our dog (even though he has like 100 toys lol) likes to get into things and chew them, so we are very conscious about that.
“Susan was great!! From our original meet and greet through her first house sitting while I was out of town. Communication was spot on, pictures of Rocky, walks even when it rained ALL DAY LONG. I recommend and have already rebooked a second house sitting.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Brevard is $59

Monique was fantastic! We were in town for a wedding, and she picked up our service dog from the reception, which was too loud for him. She took him to our rental and gave him a quiet, cozy night. She’s a pro and we knew our dog was in great hands. We’ll definitely arrange to work with Monique again.

Hannah is a very thoughtful, smart, and caring young woman. She took very good care of my two cats with lots of love, brushing and watching them carefully. Hannah even watched videos on the proper way to give my cat Highway his insulin shots. I would recommend her to anyone and will hopefully have her watch my cats again very soon.

Breanna was an awesome sitter for our boy Scout, our multiple other animals, and our home. Our home was exactly like we left it, maybe even cleaner. She did two meet and greets before our trip and was in communication the whole time we were away. We will definitely book again on our next trip.

100% accolades to Cassandra from Zalie, the shy Lady Beagle. She's never been calmer and happier on my return than after this trip. Additionally the house was in fine order and plants content. Cassandra, hersel,f is calm, engaging, and her love for dogs apparent in her approach to them. Zalie and I send our thanks, Cassandra, and hope to see you again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brevard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brevard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brevard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brevard. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
