“Alexis was wonderful! Zephy obviously loved her! I came home to a relaxed, happy dog and a neat house. Never once had to ask for an update, because she sent pictures and updates regularly. I will definitely book her again!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up caring for our family dog, geese and ducks! Lately, i've committed myself to helping dogs and cats feel loved, safe and secure while their pet parents are away. I have worked at a local veterinary clinic in their boarding department caring for overnight and long term clients. I previously worked at a local animal shelter for a year, where I learned the true responsibility of taking care of animals in all shapes and sizes. Senior animals have such a special place in my heart! Animal happiness and safety is a main priority of mine. I am looking to take care of your animals part time and as needed! I have plenty of experience with all kinds of dogs and cats! I have 3 dogs currently, a shepherd mix, husky mix and a mini pin doberman alongside 2 cats! We have a large fenced in yard which allows us to let our dogs get their energy out and enjoy some time alone outside, while we continue to keep a close eye on them. The dogs are never out of my sight, I know how mischievous they tend to be.
“M.B and Lindsey drove 2 hours for a meet up a month or so before their sitting with Sasha, which we REALLY appreciated. They were not afraid to open up and get to know and play with Sasha. They asked lots of good questions before and after we left for our vacation, not only about Sasha and her wants/needs but what our expectations were regarding our home. We received pictures and an update each day and we were pleased with their prompt responses. Upon our return we were impressed to find how clean they had left our home. Had we of let her, I think Sasha would have gotten in the car and traveled back home with them as they were packing to go back home. The next day we could tell Sasha seemed to be missing them already. We would definitely book with M.B & Lindsey again.”

“Daniela took extra steps to ensure my pets were comfortable and cared for. I frequently feel nervous leaving my pets with someone new, but she was amazing with communication and it eased my mind knowing she was there to care for them. I would use Daniela in the future!!”

“Carissa was a lovely dog/house sitter who stayed in communication our entire trip! She was wonderful with our two large dogs and left our house very clean. We will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Cindy is amazing!! She kept me up-to-date on Riley all throughout the weekend and sent the cutest pictures of her. She took such good care of Riley and the house. I felt so good knowing that Riley was in good and loving hands. I highly recommend her and look forward to having Cindy again!”

“Jerry is an excellent dog sitter and in my own house. I couldn't have picked a better person for Roux. I received pictures of Roux everyday and she looked so happy. I would like to send Jerry a hardy Thank you”

“Anna came to meet our tiny Yorkie, Teddi” 2 weeks before she was asked to housesit. Teddi fell in love with her right away. She updated us twice a day and took pics of her and Teddi .It was very comforting knowing that Anna and Teddi were inseparable and Teddi loved her snuggle time and tummy scratches. We will definitely request Anna again Teddi loves her!”

I can work my schedule to your time. I am local to downtown Greenville and happy to travel. I will follow instruction to a T so that you feel comfortable knowing your babies are in good hands. I am an extra-communicator and will happily send all of the pictures so you can get updates on how we are doing.
“To say that Grace did an AMAZING job housesitting and caring for my senior puggle with separation anxiety, is an understatement. I was out of the state for three nights and knowing my home and dog Brutus were being cared for by Grace not only put my mind at ease, but allowed me to leave without a single hesitation. She is dependable, considerate, communicative, calm and has a lovely personality! Little old Brutus can be difficult when I’m not with him and I know she did her very best to calm his anxiety, give meds and I returned to a spotless house! Thank you Grace! You did an outstanding job and I can’t thank you enough! 100 stars!”

“Tammy was very nice! She arrived early to meet our dog, and our dog loved her! She sent pictures showing us that our pup was comfortable and happy. I would definitely recommend Tammy and we would use her services again.”

“Kerstin was a wonderful house sitter for our goldendoodle and cat. We used her for the week of thanksgiving while we were out of the country and felt that our animals and home were in great hands! She sends daily updates with photos as well! We arrived from a long trip and travels to a very clean home and gifts for our son. What a pleasure. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Slater-Marietta
Overall, Laura is a good sitter. We did have a misunderstanding early in the stay about our dog’s expected routine and schedule, but, Laura was responsive to feedback and corrected the issue. She was on top of things and adhered to schedule for the rest of the week, provided ample updates and photos, and left the house in great condition. It is evident that she put in time to clean up before we arrived. Our pets seemed to love her and they both seemed to have had a great time!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Slater-Marietta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Slater-Marietta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Slater-Marietta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
