“Lindsey was great with our girls and cat. She communicated with us daily when she was leaving the house and getting home. She sent photos and kept us updated on how the dogs and cat were doing. It put us at ease knowing they were being taken care of. We will definitely be using her again.”
“Adriannne was amazing! She went above and beyond to take care of our pets and our home, while we were away for a week on a trip. She followed all of our instructions for care. She was reliable and communicated quickly and frequently with us before and during our trip. We have a cat and three dogs, including a high-energy 110 pound lab, and Adrianne took great care of all of them. Adrianne demonstrated that she has the expertise and experience with how to manage a variety of pets and dog breeds and personalities. We returned to a very clean home and very happy and healthy pets. We will definitely reach out to Adrianne again next time we take a trip.”

“Katie did great taking care of our dog and two cats! She sent so many pictures and updates which helps ease your mind when you’re gone. She isn’t afraid to ask questions when it comes to taking care of your pets the way you like. My pets loved her!”

About: All my life, I have bonded with both dogs and cats, and animals in general. I have been told that I have an ability to connect with any animal effortlessly. While I have been dog-sitting for friends, family, and others for about four years, I also have worked as a Caregiver at CARE STL, an animal shelter in St. Louis. During my time at CARE, I fed, walked, played, and formed connections with over 100 dogs, as well as cats and other animals. After that, I started working as a server/bartender at Bar-K, to make money while still working in an animal-friendly environment. Since then, I have been a reliable, trusted, and consistent dog-sitter for many clients. The safety and care of any animal is always my biggest priority, and I promise that I will not disappoint! I currently am not working, as I have just recently graduated from Saint Louis University. In other words, I am more often than not, completely available to work anytime on Weekdays and Weekends. However, on June 1st, I will be starting an internship that requires 20 hours a week but my schedule is extremely flexible, as the internship is willing to adjust to whatever schedules I have. Because of my flexible availability, I am able to spend as much time with your fur baby as you would like me to. Whether it be cuddling, playing, or going outside, I will provide all of my attention and services to the care of your animals.
About: My wife and I are a dedicated pet-loving team who will treat your pets like family. I’ve cared for animals my entire life, and my wife is a trained veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in Mexico. She’s currently working as a vet tech as she works towards the ECFVG certification which will allow her to practice as a veterinarian here in the U.S., bringing a deep understanding of animal health and behavior to every visit. We currently share our home with 3 dogs, 1 cat, 9 chickens, and 2 turkeys—so we’re no strangers to pets with all kinds of personalities and needs. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, medication, or just someone patient and kind, you can trust that they’ll be in safe, experienced hands with us. I work from home full-time, so your pet will have plenty of companionship and care throughout the day. I’m often outside with our own dogs, so your pet will enjoy lots of fresh air, playtime, and supervision. My wife works four days a week but is home in the mornings and afternoons, so between the two of us, someone is almost always around to give your pet the attention they need. Whether your dog loves being active or just relaxing with company, they’ll feel right at home here. Your pet’s safety is our top priority. We have a fenced backyard where smaller dogs can roam safely. For larger dogs, we use a secure tie-out cable system to give them outdoor time while keeping them safely contained. Inside the home, we can easily separate pets if needed—our basement and main living area are fully divided, making it simple to create calm, stress-free environments for each animal. Our chickens and turkeys are kept in a fully enclosed outdoor coop, well away from visiting pets, so there’s no risk of unwanted interactions. You can trust that your pet will be cared for in a safe, secure, and attentive environment

“Samantha is absolutely amazing! She is so sweet and flexible, which made booking with her incredibly easy. After meeting her, we felt completely comfortable having her stay with our hounds. She sent us daily updates with photos and even brought a package inside for us. We will definitely reach out to her the next time we go out of town. Highly recommend Samantha! ❤️”

About: I used to pet-sit. Worked at a day-care a while ago. I've worked and interacted with all types of dogs. I enjoy what I do. I actually get really excited when working with dogs. I know they're a lot to handle sometimes but I feel like they're great fun to work with and they always make me feel better. My favorite types of dogs include Boxers, Miniature Schnauzers, Miniature Pinschers. I like all dogs of all shapes and sizes. I am really into playing fetch with dogs. I also don't mind playing with rope toys. They might tear my arms off but hey! It builds character! I'm very easy-going and I feel like with dogs you have to have a great sense of humor and enjoy the trade in order to work with them. I hope you consider me for some of your services. I look forward to chatting with you over the phone, internet, or in person! Also, I have a sweet little Mitten cat (her name is Mittens). She's a blue tortoise cat with these little white Mitten paws. My father has a black Maltese poodle named Beau... The sweetest dog in the world. I used to live with him and we were the best of friends. We still are. But we just don't see each other as much. That's who you see me with in my photos. I have pretty much open availability. I am comfortable doing overnight visits and morning/afternoon/evening walks. I'm currently in the process of trying to build clientele so I'm more flexible now than I might be in the future. But my long-term goal is to make this a full time 8 hour day. The 8-hour schedule block will entirely depend upon demand though. Whether it's broken up into different times of the day with a break in between or a full 8 hours non-stop, entirely depends upon when clients need availability. The number one most important thing about pet care is communication though. Between the owner and me. The sooner we know things, the better. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I currently provide care exclusively in my clients' homes because I believe most pets are happiest and most relaxed in their own familiar environment. Staying in their home helps keep their routine consistent, reduces stress, and allows me to focus entirely on giving them the attention, affection, exercise, and companionship they deserve. I'll also treat your home with the same respect and care I would my own. Whenever possible, I love to schedule a meet-and-greet before the booking begins. It's a great opportunity for us to get to know each other, for your pet to become comfortable with me, and for me to learn about their personality, routines, favorite activities, quirks, medications, and anything else that helps me provide the best possible care. I firmly believe that in pet care, overcommunicating is always better than undercommunicating. I'd much rather ask one extra question than make an assumption, and you can expect prompt responses, regular photo and video updates, and complete transparency throughout your time away. While I would be comfortable offering boarding in the future, I currently choose not to because I share my home with a beloved cat. My decision isn't out of concern for her behavior—it's simply because I don't want to bring unfamiliar dogs into her space. By focusing exclusively on house sitting, I can give your pets individualized care in the environment where they feel safest and most at ease, while ensuring every animal in my care is comfortable, secure, and happy.
“I am so forever grateful for Matt!!! He is the most dependable, flexible, patient person on this planet. Aside for accommodating my schedule during a very chaotic, crazy time, when I got home, my dog was the happiest and most well adjusted she’s been while I had to go out of town. I know he played with her a LOT. I got a lot of photos and videos. I cannot emphasize enough how dependable Matt is. Very hard to find in this world. Thank you, Matt! Amazing job!”

About: I take time to understand each dog’s personality, energy level, and specific needs. Whether that means structured playtime for high-energy pups or quiet companionship for seniors, I adapt to them. I prioritize safety, communication, and providing updates so you always feel confident your dog is in loving, capable hands I work full-time, but I maintain a consistent daily routine that allows me to provide dependable pet care. I’m available for morning and evening walks, feedings, and quality time, and I make sure pets receive attention, exercise, and affection before and after work. On weekends, I have more flexibility for extended walks, playtime, and extra care When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both your space and your pet’s established routine. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walk routes, medication needs, and house rules. I keep doors secured, monitor surroundings on walks, and ensure pets are always safely leashed or supervised. My goal is to maintain a calm, familiar environment so your pet experiences minimal disruption while you’re gone
About: I’ve been caring for cats for many years and have experience pet sitting for both cats and dogs for friends and family. While my background is stronger with cats, I’m comfortable handling the day-to-day needs of dogs as well, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and maintaining routines. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away, so I make it a priority to carefully follow any instructions regarding feeding, medications, dietary restrictions, routines, or other special care needs. Because I work remotely, I’m also able to spend much more time at home with pets than many sitters can, which means more company, attention, and supervision throughout the day. I currently work remotely on a typical Monday–Friday daytime schedule and am able to work from anywhere within the state, which means I can comfortably set up my work-from-home station while house and pet sitting. This allows me to be much more present and attentive throughout the day compared to sitters who may be away for long periods of time. My work is also fairly flexible, allowing me to adjust meetings and tasks as needed to help accommodate feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, medications, and other routine care. Weekends are typically very open for me as well, giving me even more flexibility and availability for your pets’ needs. I currently have two cats of my own: Draco, an 11-year-old part Manx, and Loki, a 6-year-old black American Shorthair. I’ve had both of them since they were kittens, and caring for them has given me years of hands-on experience with maintaining routines, monitoring health, and creating a calm, safe environment for pets. Draco previously needed some extra attention with his weight and diet, and through a consistent feeding routine and focused care, he was able to lose over 10 pounds and maintain a much healthier lifestyle. That experience reinforced for me how important consistency, patience, and closely following care instructions can be for pets. Loki is a rescue and can be a little shy at first, so I also understand the importance of giving pets time to adjust, respecting their comfort levels, and helping anxious pets feel safe and secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to maintain their normal routines as closely as possible so they feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for while their owners are away.
“Latasha was wonderful! She took excellent care of my baby and really went above and beyond. She was so great with my girl and it was so reassuring to leave my dog in her care. Book her now, you won't regret it.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied upon me to watch their dogs on many occasions. I work during the day, and able to watch dogs 3pm and after every day during the week and available during the weekends as well. I have a fenced in yard so we can play and hangout inside the house or outside with comfort. Always a good time with me

“Leigh's care for our senior cat, Diesel, was truly remarkable! She is an absolute gem! During our vacation, she provided 7 days of outstanding care for our 18-year-old senior cat, Diesel. The level of communication was excellent! Leigh kept us updated multiple times a day about Diesel's well-being. Coming home to a spotless house after a long day of travel was the perfect ending to vacation. She went above and beyond in caring for Diesel and our home and exceeded all expectations. We are deeply grateful to have found Leigh; she's far more than a pet sitter to us—she's a remarkable human who provided the best care possible for Diesel.”

“Nina took great care of my 3 fur babies in our home for a few days. She sent photos and kept us posted on how they were doing, medications, etc. Really appreciate her attentiveness and communication.”

About: i’ve been taking care of friends, family, and neighbors fur babies for the past nine years of my life, and I absolutely love every single one of them. I love all of them all sizes and breeds it does not matter to me. I worked at a dog daycare/boarding facility for five years. I also have previous training experience working with young puppies so i’m able to work with them as well. :) I’m working currently part-time and only have classes a couple days a week for an hour. I’m very flexible and available on an as needed basis for you and your fur babies! Safety is my number one priority. I will never put your fur babies in harms way or put them in uncomfortable situations. I treat each pup as if they were my own. I’m very big on schedules/routine. About: I have had pets and taken care of other's pets for most of my life! I absolutely adore animals of all kinds. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
