“This is our second time boarding Bear with Wendy. We really appreciate the regular updates and her patience with Bear’s separation anxiety. We are so grateful to have had Wendy’s family take care of Bear again because they’re the best. 🙏❤️”

“Jeanne took such good care of our three basset hound boys. Every day we’d get multiple updates of what and how they are doing. One of our boys was recovering from allergies and a toe infection and he was in great shape when he came home, it was like we sent him to a health spa. Jeanne is so knowledgeable about healthy eating, the boys looked great when they got home. So glad to know they have Jeanne when we go on trips and they are in great hands. Thanks Jeanne!”

“Zankhana was absolutely wonderful! Our dog got several walks every day, and we received lots of photos and updates throughout his stay. It was so reassuring to know he was happy and well taken care of. We already booked its next stay! 🐾❤️”

About: My husband and I have lived in our house since 2018. We have a beautiful, peaceful backyard and a very well equipped house for pets. We recently said goodbye to our 15 year old babies, Tatum and Bentley. Our world revolved around them and we want to share that love by helping other families with their fur babies. We are experienced with senior care and enjoy outdoor activities with dogs. We have a great set up to create a calm and peaceful environment for your dog. We aren’t here to train but fill that void for your pet receiving love while you can’t be with them. We can administer medication if necessary and have incredibly flexible jobs for which one of us is typically WFH 3-4 days of the work week. We like to enjoy our home and immediate surroundings on weekends, so we never stray far from home base. Virginia only goes into an office 2 days a week and has a fairly flexible schedule. Nick goes in 3 days a week but also has major flex for his day. We are the epitome of home bodies. We enjoy being out in nature and walks are a daily occurrence for us or going on a low key hike up at the pass. We have a fenced yard, we spend time with the pets we have here (I’d even go as far as saying you can always find my husband hanging with the animals when we have people over) and we are diligent to their daily needs. We enjoy going on walks in our neighborhood but also are open to exploring the outdoors with pets too! We find the less popular spots to go spend time in nature and explore the beautiful setting around us. We have experience caring for pets who need medication and food at particular times and our current life allows us to make that a daily priority.

“Thank you again Cynthia for doing a great job taking good care of Dakota and making sure he got outside and plenty of exercise! I look forward to working with you again!! Josh”

“We have boarded our dog Ella with Lourdez and her family on multiple occasions. Lourdez always takes great care of our dog, ensures she gets outside for walks or hikes, and treats her as part of the family. She sends frequent updates and communications are easy. We are very happy to have Lourdez as our sitter!”

“Maria is amazing! Cooper has stayed with her multiple times and we always come back because we know he’s in the best hands. She sends us video and photo updates, is so caring and trustworthy, and Cooper feels right at home with her. This time our flight was delayed on the way back and she was so flexible with pickup - Maria’s really the best and truly a wonderful person. We’re so lucky to have found her!”

“My little Princess had a great time with Minnie! She stayed overnight for 3 nights while I was on a work trip. Minnie did a great job of communicating with me the whole time and keeping Princess happy and engaged 😊”

“Our girl Rebel was so happy to and well taken care of. We got lots of photos and updates daily, it gave it peace of mind trust our baby was well taken care of and being loved.”

“Fenris had an absolute grand time with Anji and all the dog friends he made during his stay. A big fenced in yard provided him with a great deal of space to run around! Thank you Anji! I would gladly have Fenris stay there again!”

“This was a first stay for Marley with Heather, and a first stay for me using Rover. I am very pleased with Heather's caring attention to Marley. She sent photos several times a day and it looks like he was doing very well. I will definitely book with Heather again.”

“Amanda and Eric are amazing! My dogs came back relaxed and happy! This was our second time having our dogs stay with Amanda and Eric. The first time they were a bit nervous. But, the second time, when we pulled up to their house, my dogs raced to their door to see them. We got regular updates and photos. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my pups with them. Also, our flight was delayed and we ended up picking them up the following morning because we did not return home until midnight. They were super accommodating and responded immediately when I asked if they could extend the stay due to the delay! 5/5. Definitely would recommend!!!”

“Katie and Quixem were awesome! They asked plenty of questions during our meet and greet which provided a great deal of confidence. The home environment seemed very safe and welcoming. I felt very pleased with my entire experience and I’d happily use Katie and Quixem’s services again.”

“We cannot recommend Gabriela and Sean enough. We had to leave our pup for 3 weeks and we feel so grateful that we never had to worry about how she was doing. Gabriela kept us updated every single day and our pup Phinney seemed to be having the time of her life at their house - going on many walks, playing with other dogs, and cuddling. Gabriela and Sean’s genuine love and understanding of dogs made us feel 100% confident in their ability to care for our pretty high-maintenance herding dog. Will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“😍 10/10 would recommend Kathy as a dog sitter! She went above and beyond to make sure our furry baby felt loved and cared for while we were away. Her home is gorgeous and welcoming, and Kathy treated our dog like one of her own. She's super communicative, sending us updates and pics that put our minds at ease. Organized and responsible, too - we'd trust her with our pup (and our keys) in a heartbeat. If you're looking for someone to give your pet the TLC they deserve, Kathy is your girl! 💕”

“My dog had a wonderful stay at Jessica’s place. It was a home away from home for him and he got all the love and attention he needed. Would definitely recommend Jessica for a warm and loving environment for your pet.”

Lexi was fantastic with Kona! This was Kona's first time staying with a sitter, and Lexi made it completely stress-free for us. She sent photos to let us know Kona was happy and settling in well — communication was top-notch. We were referred to Lexi by a friend and now we totally get why. Will definitely book with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cedar Falls home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cedar Falls.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cedar Falls sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
